December 19, 2019 SnyderTalk—The American People Should Be Furious

“My holy Name I will make known in the midst of My people Israel.  I will not let My holy Name be profaned anymore, and the Gentiles will know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel.”

The American People Should Be Furious

When I retired from the University of Virginia in 2004, Katie and I moved to Lake Hartwell in South Carolina near the town of Anderson.  We arrived in the Palmetto State in June as election season was getting underway, and I tuned into WAIM, the local AM radio station, each morning while I was eating breakfast and listened to the local news.

A man was running for office for the first time that year.  He must have been a friend of the station’s owner, because he was interviewed many times on-air, and I got to listen to him while I ate.  The first time I heard him speak, I was put off by his use of clichés. I thought, He can’t be a serious candidate, but he was.

The man I’m talking about never said anything of consequence.  Every statement he made and every answer he gave to a question was a series of loosely connected clichés that were strung together haphazardly.

At first, I thought it was a joke or maybe he was rehearsing for a skit on Saturday Night Live, but he was serious.  Over the next few months, I heard him on the radio many times, and he never changed.  Eventually, I started calling him Mr. Cliché, and I promised Katie that I would never vote for him no matter what.

With that as backdrop, please take a few minutes and watch the video below.  It’s Nancy Pelosi giving her remarks last night following the House vote on two articles of impeachment against President Trump:

Pelosi did exactly what the man who was running for office in South Carolina did.  She strung together clichés in a loosely connected way and read them from a teleprompter.  It was one cliché after another for about 9 minutes.

You can bet that Pelosi and the Democrat Party conducted focus groups to identify words and phrases that resonate with Democrat voters.  Popular words and phrases were included in her remarks repeatedly.

December 18, 2019, a Day of Infamy

It’s virtually impossible to string together disjointed words and phrases into a cogent speech, but Pelosi wasn’t trying to deliver a convincing argument.  She was simply using words that inspire her base.  For example, she began with this:

“December 18, a great day for the Constitution of the United States.”

Pelosi was almost plagiarizing Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s speech before a joint session of Congress on December 8, 1941, the day after the Japanese Navy attacked Pearl Harbor.  She copied him as best she could from the same platform that he used.

Roosevelt began his speech this way: “December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy.”  See the video below:

Roosevelt’s words have become immortal.  Pelosi’s cheap copy of those words will go down in infamy.

Next, Pelosi used the phrase “moral courage”.  She and other Democrats have been using that phrase repeatedly over the last few months as they have tried to convince the American people that their acts of treason and treachery are really acts of “moral courage”.  These are Pelosi’s exact words:

“I could not be prouder or more inspired than by the moral courage of the House Democrats.”

There is no truth in Pelosi.

There is no truth in Adam Schiff.

There is no truth in Jerry Nadler.

There is no truth in Steny Hoyer.

There is no truth in almost every House Democrat.  Virtually all of them are selling a narrative, and they are using focus group-tested words and phrases that resonate with Democrat voters to do it.

It’s a show, a partisan political game, and nothing more.  Democrats are the culprits.   President Trump is their intended victim.

President Trump did Nothing Wrong

Below are several recent SnyderTalk editorials in which I talk about the fact that House Democrats are trying to railroad President Trump:

I’m not going to rehash the things I have said before.  If you want, you can read the editorials and see for yourself exactly what I have said.

Two of those editorials set the stage for what comes next.  Yesterday’s editorial, “President Trump’s Letter to Nancy Pelosi”, explains how we got to this point.  It begins with the letter that President Trump sent to Nancy Pelosi a few days ago in which he lays out in great detail what Democrats have done to him over the past 3 years.  In the letter, the president did a fantastic job of laying out the facts.  The letter speaks for itself, and it is accurate.

The last editorial on the list, “The Stage is Being Set for a Showdown in the Streets”, explains where Democrats want to take our nation. Their goal is to create a situation where there is violence in the streets.  It won’t be a bloodless coup d’état.

Bloodless Coup d’états Didn’t Work

Democrats have tried bloodless coup d’états twice and failed both times.  The Russia collusion hoax and the Mueller investigation associated with it was the Democrats’ first attempt at a bloodless coup.  It went down in flames.

Within days of the debacle in the Senate when Robert Mueller presented his findings that exonerated President Trump, Adam Schiff took the baton and advanced a case for impeachment in the House.  That led us to yesterday’s vote in the House on two articles of impeachment against President Trump.  That was the second bloodless coup d’état attempt.  It failed, too, because after the vote, Pelosi told us that she was not sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

Despite all her talk, Pelosi knows that she has no case.  It’s as simple as that.

The Articles of Impeachment

The articles of impeachment against the president include no crimes, because he committed no crimes. They are as generic as no name corn flakes at the grocery store.

Abuse of Power

Democrats: “Donald J. Trump has abused the powers of the Presidency, in that: Using the powers of his high office, President Trump solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, in the 2020 United States presidential election.  Wherefore President Trump, by such conduct, has demonstrated that he will remain a threat to national security and the Constitution if allowed to remain in office, has acted in a manner grossly incompatible with self-governance and the rule of law.”

Abuse of power?  Forget about it.

There is no evidence of abuse of power.  If there were evidence of abuse of power, it would have been included in the articles of impeachment.

Democrats are fond of saying that “the evidence is undisputed” or words to that effect.  “Undisputed”?  Are you kidding me?

Democrats use words like “undisputed”, because they are pithy, and their voters can remember simple words and parrot them.  Every bit of testimony delivered to the House Intelligence Committee was disputed.  Anything resembling abuse of power that was presented in the House Intelligence Committee was destroyed during cross-examination.  There was no “abuse of power”, period, end of sentence.

Obstruction of Congress

Democrats: “In the history of the Republic, no President has ever ordered the complete defiance of an impeachment inquiry or sought to obstruct and impede so comprehensively the ability of the House of Representatives to investigate ‘high crimes and misdemeanors.”

“Obstruction of Congress”?  That’s ridiculous.  This is how I explained it in “The Articles of Impeachment Against President Trump Won’t Fly”:

The second article of impeachment against President Trump is ridiculous.  Invoking executive privilege is not an abuse of Congress.  Any president has a constitutional right to invoke executive privilege to protect the Office of the President and to prevent privileged and sensitive information about ongoing operations from being revealed prematurely or inappropriately.

If leaders in Congress believe the president is abusing executive privilege, they can take him to court.  It takes a while to adjudicate the dispute, because eventually the case has to be decided by the Supreme Court.

Democrats in the House didn’t want to challenge the president’s executive privilege claims because of the time involved.  They were in a hurry to impeach him no matter what.  That mistake will cost them dearly in the 2020 presidential election and in congressional elections.

Bottom Line: Congress can’t claim that the president obstructed Congress by exercising his constitutional rights.

The Articles of Impeachment Won’t Fly

As I said, “The Articles of Impeachment Against President Trump Won’t Fly”, but I didn’t mean that the House would not pass articles of impeachment.  That has been a foregone conclusion since Democrats regained control of the House in 2018.

I meant that the Senate would not convict the president based on the articles of impeachment passed by the House, because there is no evidence to support them.  That’s exactly what has happened.  That’s why Nancy Pelosi is not sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate.  With no evidence to support the charges, the Senate will have no choice except to acquit the president.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made it crystal clear that the Senate would deal with the articles of impeachment in short order and that the president would not be convicted.  In other words, McConnell told Pelosi that the articles of impeachment would be dead on arrival in the Senate.  So did Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsay Graham.

A simple rule in jurisprudence:

No evidence, no case.

Mitch McConnell’s Perspective

McConnell did a great job of putting the House impeachment vote in perspective.  He explained things that ordinary Americans may not know but need to understand.

Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats did a sloppy job from start to finish and passed two articles of impeachment that have no factual support.  No one can explain what they did better than McConnell.  Take a few minutes and watch the video below.  You’ll be glad you did.

Republican Senators aren’t Stupid

Republican senators saw Democrats start making promises to impeach the president the day he won the 2016 election.

They saw the establishment media make impeachment their reason for being despite there being no evidence to support impeachment.

They saw the Russia collusion hoax play out to its inevitable conclusion: there was no Russia collusion.

They saw Adam Schiff pick up the cause and advance it in the House.  He had told the world that he had concrete evidence of Russia collusion.  He may have been desperately seeking credibility, or he may just be a stupid person.  I think he’s stupid, but that’s just me.

A helpful hint:

Never associate degrees with intelligence.  Lots of people with advanced degrees are as dumb as dirt.

They saw Jerry Nadler campaign for Chair of the Judiciary Committee by promising to impeach President Trump and Justice Kavanaugh.

They saw Nancy Pelosi pretending to be brought on-board with the impeachment plan when, in fact, it was her plan all along.  She was the maestro.  She called the shots.

It was a witch-hunt.  It was a circus.  It was a kangaroo court.  It was a sham.  That’s why Senators said that they would not vote to convict the president. They aren’t deaf, dumb, and blind.  They witnessed the treachery, and they were not about to go along with it.

That Brings us to Violence in the Streets

Having passed articles of impeachment in the House and having been rebuffed by the Senate, Democrats will take their case to the streets and hope for violence.  That, too, will boomerang.

The ignorant fools who are being weaponized by Democrats will strike Democrats first.  It will take place during or around the Democrat nominating convention.  The leading candidates for the Democrat nomination can’t win.  Seasoned Democrats know that, so they will attempt to put in place a nominee who stands a chance of winning.  In the process, they will infuriate the mobs they have prepared for President Trump.

Get ready for some very interesting days ahead.  Democrats will implode.  President Trump will be re-elected.  There will be violent mobs of depraved, degenerate Democrats in the streets.  Ordinary Americans will see it and realize that Democrats are to blame for the madness.

Call it “The Awakening of America”.

Murdering unborn children didn’t do it.

Infanticide didn’t do it.

Mainstreaming immorality and injecting it into our public schools didn’t do it.

Invading armies of immigrants from the south didn’t do it.

Sanctuary cities run by Democrats didn’t do it.

Rampant crime in Democrat-run cities didn’t do it.

Corruption by Democrat operatives in the FBI, the CIA, the DOJ, etc. didn’t do it.

The sham of an impeachment process started to do it.  Violence in the streets will do it.

Will Democrats Change Their Ways?

We can hope that Democrats will see the light and change their ways, but that’s a pipe dream.  It ain’t gonna happen.

Yahweh is hardening Democrats’ hearts right now.  You can see it.

It was evident when Nancy Pelosi gave her talk last night after the House voted for two articles of impeachment.

It was evident when Adam Schiff did everything except cry during remarks he made on the House floor trying to win support for impeachment.  I almost expected one of his Democrat comrades to start playing a violin in the background: mood music.

It was evident when Jerry Nadler advanced impeachment in the House Judiciary Committee without seeing a single shred of evidence.  Imagine that.  Two impeachment charges and no evidence.  Instead, the Judiciary Committee offered up 3 law professors two of whom were “liberal progressive” nutjobs.  Their opinions were the only things they brought to the table.

A helpful hint:

Opinions are not evidence.  Opinions are conclusions.  Absent evidence, opinions have no merit.

It was evident when Chuck Schumer demanded the right to call witnesses in the Senate, because the House had failed to present a compelling case for impeachment, even though they passed two articles of impeachment.  It’s not the Senate’s job to try to make the House’s case for impeachment.

Democrat hearts are stone-cold hard and getting harder by the day.  That’s Yahweh’s doing.

At this point, Yahweh won’t allow most Democrats to change, especially leaders of the Democrat Party.  It’s the same thing He did to Pharaoh before Moses led the Children of Israel out of Egypt during the Exodus.

Pharaoh wasn’t allowed to change his mind.  He crossed the line.  He passed the point of no return.  That’s what Democrats have done.

It’s a big deal.  It had to be this way.

Draining the swamp isn’t easy.  That’s why Yahweh chose President Trump for the job.  He is Yahweh’s man for a time like this.

Most people would have been crushed by the things President Trump has been forced to endure.  Instead of folding, President Trump drew closer to Yahweh, and he has become a much stronger man.

The Spirit of Yahweh is in President Trump in a powerful way.  Yahweh’s people see it and rejoice.  Yahweh’s enemies can’t see it, or they refuse to see it.  In the end, they will be crushed.  Yahweh will see to it.

As Ed Sullivan used to say, get ready for a “really big show”.  It’s just getting started.  Yahweh, thank You for letting us watch it and for letting us be a part of it.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
