“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Yahweh Doesn’t Talk Just to Hear Himself Speak

The Messiah said,

“Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.” (John 17:17)

He was talking about Yahweh’s word. It is presented in the Tanach or the Old Testament. There was no New Testament when He made that statement.

The Messiah also said,

“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (John 8:31-32)

In those verses, the Messiah referred to Yahweh’s word as “My word”. He was equating His word and Yahweh’s word. In other words, He was saying that He is Yahweh.

The Messiah was not talking about the New Testament in those verses, either, because the New Testament did not exist when He made that statement. I’ll say more about that in a moment. It’s an important point.

The fact that the Messiah is Yahweh should come as no surprise to people who are familiar with the Bible. Yahweh told Jeremiah that the Messiah’s Name is Yahweh, and the Messiah said plainly that He is I AM:

“Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham existed, I AM.” (John 8:58)

I AM is the Name Yahweh used when He met with Moses at the burning bush near Mount Sinai. In that same exchange, He told Moses that His Name is Yahweh:

“Thus, you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” Elohim, furthermore, said to Moses, “Thus, you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘Yahweh, the Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This (Yahweh) is My Name forever, and this (Yahweh) is the Name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” (Exodus 3:15)

A few years ago, I was talking with an Israeli woman in Jerusalem. She’s Jewish. I have gotten to know her over the years, and she enjoys talking with me. That day, she was telling me what it was like growing up in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The Old City is a town with walls that is surrounded by a larger city. The population of the Old City is about 30,000. Christians, Jews, and Muslims live together in the Old City in close proximity. There are schools, shops, playgrounds, churches, synagogues, mosques, and everything else that you would expect to find in any town. There is even a police force.

That day, she was lamenting the fact that there is so much friction between Christians, Jews, and Muslims. She said, “All of us believe in the Messiah. Why can’t we get along?”

I said, “But we don’t believe in the same messiah. The Messiah that Jews and Christians believe in is Yahweh.”

Instantly, she said, “The Messiah is not Yahweh!”

“Yes, He is,” I said. “Do you have a Tanach?”

She said she did, so I said, “Get it, and read Jeremiah 23:5-6.”

She got her Tanach, turned to Jeremiah, and read those verses. When she finished reading, she looked at me and said, “The Messiah really is Yahweh.”

Her Tanach was written in Hebrew. Unlike most English translations of the Bible, Yahweh’s Name appears in it. According to accepted tradition, in most English translations of the Bible, Yahweh’s Name has been edited out and replaced with “the LORD”, “the LORD God”, “the Lord GOD”, and “LORD of hosts”.

That tradition is accepted, but it’s wrong. Because of that tradition, most Christians don’t know the Name of their Elohim. That’s a serious problem.

Below are the correct translations when you see “LORD” and “GOD” in capital letters:

- “the LORD“: Yahweh
- “the LORD God”: Yahweh Elohim
- “the Lord GOD“: Adonai Yahweh
- “LORD of hosts”: Yahweh Sabaoth

This is what Jeremiah 23:5-6 says when you place Yahweh’s Name where it belongs:

“Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch. He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will live securely. This is His Name by which He will be called: ‘Yahweh Our Righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23:5-6)

I didn’t try to convince her to believe me because I am not the authority. Yahweh is the authority, and He told Jeremiah that the Messiah is Yahweh. That was good enough for her.

That bit of information probably changed her world for good, and all I had to do was show her what Yahweh said, because she believed Him. She regarded Yahweh’s word as truth. That was obvious.

Talking with most Christians is problematic. Over the years, I have talked with thousands of Christians and told them the same thing that I told the Jewish woman in the Old City. Occasionally, someone will respond positively, but most of the time, their reactions are either neutral or negative. Most Christians have difficulty believing that their Bibles contain serious translation errors that were knowingly made by the translators. In the Old Testament alone, there are about 7,000 of those errors. The Scriptures are inerrant, but most English translations of the Scriptures are not.

The logic for knowingly including translation errors in the Bible is a mystery to me. It makes no sense, and it’s wrong. But virtually every English Bible translation is loaded with those errors. Now, those errors have become part of Christian tradition. When a preacher says, “Praise the Lord,” he should be saying, “Praise Yahweh.” In Hebrew, praise Yahweh is “HalleluYah”. The Hebrew language has no letter with the “J” sound. The “J” sound didn’t enter the English language until the 1600s AD. Praise Yahweh is not Hallelujah.

There are Christians who get it. When I talk with them, it’s a lot different. They have already learned that they have been poorly informed by their Christian leaders in the past. They are ready to accept the fact that their is a lot more that they need to know.

I wrote a book to prove that the Messiah is Yahweh. It’s based entirely on the Scriptures because, as I said, I am not the authority. The book’s title is His Name is Yahweh. When I suggest to Christian skeptics that they should read the book and see for themselves, almost every time they say something like this: “All I need to know is in the Bible.”

That’s true. That message is all over the Bible, but they have missed it. I’m forced to conclude that either they don’t read the Bible, or they read it and don’t understand it.

I suspect that most people who say “all I need to know is in the Bible” have never read the Bible. I think that’s just a kneejerk reaction, a defensive mechanism kicking in. If they have read the Bible, they didn’t understand it, and they refuse to consider the possibility that I am right because they would have expected to hear that message from a preacher in the pulpit if it were true.

They should have heard that message from a preacher. It’s a shame and a disgrace that they didn’t, but to be candid, most of the ones I have talked with are typical, intellectually lazy churchgoers. They are like tiny babies who must be spoon-fed. If it’s not in the spoon, they don’t get it. They are being fed a diet of pablum by their preachers. As a result, they are being misled.

Preachers are a serious problem, but believers are not absolved from responsibility because their preachers have failed to do their jobs. Remember what the Messiah said:

“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (John 8:31-32)

The Messiah was distinguishing between true disciples and people who just claim to be disciples. Think about that statement for a moment. What He said is scary.

Many preachers with impressive pedigrees have told me that Yahweh’s Name is not important, but Yahweh made it clear throughout the Scriptures that His Name is crucial. Who should I believe? Either Yahweh is correct or preachers who rely on terrible Bible translations are correct.

You don’t have to be a genius to know that Yahweh is the One we should follow. That’s what true disciples do.

Getting Back to My Earlier Point about the New Testament

Except for Revelation, the New Testament isn’t Scripture. It’s commentary, and the proof of that fact is in the New Testament. I wrote a book about that, too. It’s title is The Trilogy.

I have told many believers that the New Testament isn’t Scripture and that I can prove it. Most of the time, they simply say, “I don’t agree.” It’s as though they think it’s a matter of opinion.

It’s not a matter of opinion. It’s either a fact, or it is not a fact. If it’s a fact, it’s an important fact.

Yahweh told Isaiah,

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

In those verses, Yahweh was referring to the Torah and the word He delivered to His prophets, people like Isaiah. Yahweh’s word is called “the Tanach” or “the Old Testament”. It is truth, and it will not return to Him void. So, why do most preachers virtually ignore Yahweh’s word and spend almost all their time talking about commentary?

Don’t get me wrong. The New Testament is important and inspired, but except for Revelation, it is not Scripture. It is commentary on Scripture.

You should see the looks on most preachers’ faces when I tell them that the New Testament except for Revelation is commentary. Most of them look at me as though I was a heretic, even though all the proof they need to see it for themselves is in the New Testament. If they would read The Trilogy, they would see it, but getting most preachers and churchgoers to consider anything that they don’t know already or things they think they know is very difficult. In fact, it’s almost impossible.

Many times, I have had to jettison things that I was told in church and discover things that I was not told in church to find the truth. The books His Name is Yahweh and The Trilogy are examples of that. I didn’t get the information in those books from any church I was ever a part of. That information came straight from Yahweh, and it’s in His word.

With that thought in mind, ask yourself this question: Why would Yahweh make a statement like the one below?

“Therefore behold, I am going to make them know — this time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My Name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16:21)

I think it’s obvious. Yahweh is frustrated with people who claim to have faith in Him, and He is determined to make sure that they get the message.

Yahweh is Not Like Us

Humans are prone to talk too much. Most people will tell you everything they know and then some. I’ve heard many people say, “I don’t know anything about this subject, but this is my opinion.”

Yahweh isn’t like us. He doesn’t talk just to hear Himself speak. When He says something, He means it, and we need to pay attention. When it comes to Yahweh’s word, we need to know what He said, and then, we need to do what He said. If our opinions differ from what Yahweh said, we are wrong. It’s as simple as that.

Yahweh gave no one the authority to tamper with His word. People have done that on their own and made some terrible mistakes in the process. There is no excuse for tampering with Yahweh’s word.
