December 28, 2022 SnyderTalk—Yahweh is the Name that is Above Every Name

“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

Yahweh is the Name that is Above Every Name

I am always amazed when someone tells me, “Jesus is the Messiah’s name in English.” When a preacher tells me that, I am bewildered.

I expect preachers to know better. The fact that most of them don’t know better is a serious problem. When I meet preachers who know Yahweh’s Name but refuse to use it, I am baffled. They read the same Bible I read with one exception. I know where Yahweh’s Name belongs, and I insert it in the proper places. Anyone can do it. It’s as easy as 1-2-3. Regrettably, that’s something all of us must do, because virtually every English translation of the Bible has edited out our Creator’s Name, and they have used a name for our Messiah that is incorrect.

The Messiah’s Name Wasn’t Jesus

At birth, the Messiah was given the name “Yeshua”. Yeshua means “Yahweh saves” or “Yahweh is salvation”.

Yeshua is an Aramaic name. In Hebrew, it’s “Yehoshua”. There isn’t any confusion about those facts. Besides, no letter in Hebrew or Aramaic has the “j” sound. Fact is, the letter “j” didn’t enter the English language until the 1600s AD, and it wasn’t widely used and accepted until the 1700s AD. For more details, read His Name is Yahweh.

Moses’ right hand man was named “Yehoshua”. In English translations of the Bible, he’s called “Joshua”. It’s the same name that the Messiah was given at birth. The name “Joshua” isn’t right, but it’s a lot closer to being correct than the name “Jesus”.

Many people have asked me, “Where did the name ‘Jesus’ come from?” I tell them, “It was made up.” That’s the truth.

The Messiah is Yahweh

Both the Old Testament and the New Testament tell us that the Messiah’s real Name is Yahweh. For example:

“Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch. He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will live securely. This is His Name by which He will be called: ‘Yahweh Our Righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23:5-6)

“Elohim highly exalted Him [the Messiah], and bestowed on Him [the Messiah] the Name which is above every name [Yahweh], so that at the Name of Yeshua [Yahweh] every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Yeshua the Messiah is Yahweh, to the glory of Elohim the Father.” (Philippians 2: 9-11)

This isn’t complicated. It’s a sad commentary on so-called “Christian leaders” that Yahweh’s Name has been hidden from His people, and the fact that so few people who claim to be believers know that the Messiah is Yahweh is shocking. Preachers, seminary professors, Bible translators, and Bible publishers share the blame. As a group, they have done more harm than they can imagine by not knowing the truth or refusing to share the truth with Yahweh’s people, because He is determined to make sure that everyone, especially believers, know who He is by Name:

“Therefore behold, I am going to make them know, this time I will make them know My power and My might, and they shall know that My Name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16:21)

You can be certain about one thing. The two witnesses mentioned in Revelation 11 will know Yahweh’s Name, and they will declare it. Everything they do will be done in Yahweh’s Name.

Yahweh’s Name is Important

My name is “Neil”. People who know me well enough to know that I spend a lot of time in Israel ask me this question: “What is Neil in Hebrew?”

I tell them, “Neil in Hebrew is Neil. That’s my name.” In Israel, they call me “Neil” with a Hebrew accent. That’s fine with me. I call them by their names with a Southern accent.

This is what Neil Snyder looks like in Hebrew: ניל סניידר. Anyone who knows Hebrew will read my name and say, “Neil Snyder,” because that’s what those letters say in Hebrew.

Yahweh’s Name in English and in every other language is the same as His Name in Hebrew. It’s Yahweh. There should be no confusion about that. As I said, it’s not complicated.

This is what Yahweh’s Name looks like in Hebrew: יהוה. Hebrew reads right to left. The letter on the right is a “yod” followed by “hey” followed by “vav” followed by “hey”.  It’s spelled yod hey vav hey.

Recently, the name “Yehovah” was suggested as the correct pronunciation of our Creator’s Name. That can’t be correct because ancient Hebrew did not include the letter “vav”. It was a “waw”. Yahweh and His Name predate ancient Hebrew.

The letter “vav” didn’t enter the Hebrew language until somewhere between 600 AD and 1000 AD. Therefore, any name with the “v” sound in it can’t be our Creator’s Name.

This SnyderTalk editorial will help you know where Yahweh’s Name belongs in the Scriptures. Please read it: “the LORD God” and “the Lord GOD”

Rules to follow:

  1. “the LORD” ➨ Yahweh.
  2. “the LORD God” ➨ Yahweh Elohim.
  3. “the Lord GOD” ➨ Adonai Yahweh or Sovereign Yahweh.
  4. “LORD of hosts” ➨ Yahweh Sabaoth or Yahweh Master of Legions.

Why Bible translators and Bible publishers put readers through the misery of having to insert Yahweh’s Name where it belongs mystifies me. Hiding Yahweh’s Name in the Bible is a ridiculous, intentional error, especially since Yahweh tells us plainly in the Bible that His Name is critically important. There is no rational justification for this misguided editorial tradition. Satan is the only one who benefits from it.

I am at a loss for words when it comes to preachers and seminary professors. For this problem to exist, they have had to ignore it for centuries. They have been teaching and preaching flagrant errors, and they have done it so casually that it’s shocking. It’s as though they have no idea how much damage that have done and are doing. They need to be held accountable. This is a mistake that we should not tolerate.

Yahweh is the Only Savior

Over the years, many people have asked me, “Why is Yahweh’s Name so important?” My response is always the same. I tell them, “Yahweh’s Name is important because He said it is.” With that thought in mind, consider these verses:

  • “I, even I, am Yahweh. There is no savior besides Me!” (Isaiah 43: 11)
  • “And it will come about that whoever calls on the Name of Yahweh will be delivered/saved.” (Joel 2: 32)
  • “For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only the third hour of the day; but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel:….‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of Yahweh will be saved.’” (Acts 2: 15 and 21)
  • “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4: 12)
  • “As Scripture says, ‘Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.’ For there is no distinction between Jew and Gentile; for there is one Yahweh over all who is abundantly generous toward everyone who calls on Him; for ‘whoever calls on the Name of Yahweh will be saved.’” (Romans 10: 11-13)

When Christian Traditions are Wrong, Drop Them

It’s time for Yahweh’s people to get His Name right and to declare it as He commanded. In fact, it’s long overdue. If you say you are a believer, start calling Yahweh by His Name. Consider it an act of obedience, because that’s exactly what it is.

You can share the fundamental truths about the Name that is above every name by simply giving people this website: His Name is Yahweh. It’s loaded with important information. As I said, Yahweh’s Name is important because He said it is. It’s not a matter of opinion. If anyone’s opinion differs from Yahweh’s commands, that person is WRONG.

You should try to explain to a preacher what I’m explaining to you in this SnyderTalk. There is a very good probability that you will be able to watch his eyes glaze over, and you can see him search for something to say. Beware, though. He may think you are a member of a cult or worse. Since most preachers don’t know the truth, they think you can’t know the truth, either.

Most preachers that I’ve talked with don’t know or don’t care that this message is all over the Bible, and they have ignored it completely. Some of them have told me, “I love the name Jesus. I don’t think I can let it go.” They have a problem, and they should deal with it. Their feelings don’t trump Yahweh’s commands.

I’ll be blunt. As a group, preachers in America today are doing Yahweh and all believers a great disservice.

Yahweh isn’t like us. He doesn’t talk just to hear Himself speak. If He says something, He means it. Yahweh said that His Name is important, so His Name is important. As I have said repeatedly, this is not complicated.

Preachers who have come up with signature pronunciations for the name “Jesus” by elongating the vowel “e” to work up the crowd into a giving frenzy have made a terrible mistake. Yahweh knows who they are. I have more to say about them, but I won’t say it today.

“I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me — just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father — and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd. The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life — only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.”

John 10: 14-18
