Flat Earthers and Global Warmers: Two Peas in a Pod

This may come as a surprise, but the Flat Earth Society still exists.  Although their numbers have declined over the years, there are those among us who believe that Earth is flat and that the sun and the moon are the same size.

Al Gore and his comrades in the Global Warming Society are eerily similar to Flat Earthers.  If they were a fringe group, I would simply laugh, but none other than President Barack Hussein Obama has made reversing global warming a major thrust of his administration’s policies in all agencies of federal government.  The cost to taxpayers over time will be trillions of dollars.

If you think I’m kidding, let me assure you that I am not.  As John Adams said, “Facts are stubborn things”, and the facts tell the tale: Earth’s temperature hasn’t risen since 1998 but man-made CO2 emissions have increased dramatically since 1998.

Since Global Warmers think that man-made CO2 emissions are the root of the problem, those facts alone should be enough to give rational people justification to at least be a little skeptical about the Global Warmers Chicken Little claims, but the President of the United States and most other “liberal progressives” (they are neither liberal nor progressive, but that’s another story) trumpet the theory as though it were as commonsensical as night following day.

Listening to Global Warmers talk is laughable.  If it’s hot and dry, global warming is the culprit.  If it’s cold and wet, global warming is the cause.  If we have an unusually harsh winter—like the one that we’ve just come out of, you guessed it, global warming is responsible.  And if July is strikingly cool—like it was in 2013, global warming is the reason.

To believe what Global Warmers say, you have to abandon logic and science and buy into a theory that has been proven wrong so many times that its ardent supporters have resorted to rigging data, stifling debate, and censoring reports that expose their lies.

I suppose their reaction makes sense, though.  The facts don’t support their case, so they do what they think they must do to win.  Unfortunately, if they win, we lose, and the cost will stagger the imaginations of thinking people.

Abraham H. Miller: French Islamic Congress Sinks into Anti-Semitic Hate Fest— In some deep corner of hell, Hitler is smiling.  One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Muslims gathered in Paris to attend the Union of Islamic Organization’s Thirty First Congress. It was advertised as a gathering about immigration, assimilation, and culture, but it soon descended into an anti-Semitic hate fest. When the “Jew” was cast into the convention’s spotlight, the crowd was whipped into frenzy with as much emotion as Albert Speer could have ignited from his Nazi rallies orchestrated with cascading lights and burning torches. The atrocities in Syria, the bloodbaths in the streets of Cairo, the barbaric behavior of Boko Haram in Nigeria, and all the evil and wanton cruelty in the Islamic world that daily leap out at us from television, print, and the Internet, all of this was explained as being guided by an invisible hand, the Jew.

Robert Spencer: Arresting Churchill—Paul Weston, the chairman of a new political party in the United Kingdom called Liberty GB, was making a speech Saturday outside the Winchester Guildhall in Hampshire when suddenly everything went wrong. Weston made the mistake of quoting a notorious Islamophobe, whereupon a woman in the audience, disgusted by this hate speech, contacted police, and Weston was duly arrested.

Joseph Klein: State Dept. Targets ‘Extremist Jewish’ Settlers in Terrorism Report— The U.S. State Department has just released its 2013 report on terrorism around the globe, including a whole section devoted to “Israel, West Bank, and Gaza” as part of a broader chapter on the Middle East and North Africa. Coming on the heels of Secretary of State John Kerry’s despicable claim that Israel could turn into an apartheid state, his State Department’s report treated random criminal acts, mostly vandalism, by some Jewish settlers as being on the same level as rocket launchings, suicide bombing and other acts of real terrorism by Hamas, Hezbollah and other jihadist groups. For the Obama administration, Jewish settler attacks that damage Palestinian property are morally equivalent with jihadist attacks aimed at killing Jews and Christians.

Ken Blackwell and Bob Morrison: Secretary Kerry at the Water’s Edge— The secretary of state admits he was “inarticulate.”  And he proceeds to prove it daily.  We might have thought that was an unusual quality for America’s top diplomat.  But in his statement trying to extricate himself from his most recent gaffe, the secretary digs in deeper. “I will not allow,” he says, anyone to question his commitment to Israel.  Well, we certainly do question it.  He is completely bound to the idea that Israel should make dangerous concessions to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).  The PLO was listed by Kerry’s own State Department for decades as a terrorist organization.

Simon Henderson: Saudi Arabia’s Missile Messaging— Earlier today, at Saudi Arabia’s northeastern military base of Hafr al-Batin, the kingdom’s armed forces held a massive military parade to mark the conclusion of a major exercise codenamed “Abdullah’s Sword.” A surprise feature of the parade was the inclusion of two Chinese DF-3 missiles, known as the CSS-2 in NATO nomenclature. These missiles were supplied to Saudi Arabia in 1987 and have long been based in the mountainous desert well south of Riyadh, from where they can target Iran. Today is the first time they have been seen in public. The main guest at the parade was Crown Prince Salman, the Saudi defense minister; other top guests included King Hamad of Bahrain and Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, the lead emirate of the UAE. Also present was Pakistani army chief Gen. Raheel Sharif, who sat next to Prince Mitab, the minister of the Saudi National Guard and senior son of the king.

Joshua Cohen: Why Assad Can’t Win—With the help of his ally Hizbullah, Syria’s Assad has won a series of victories, including recapturing parts of Aleppo and surrounding areas as well as pushing the rebels back from Damascus. Assad has largely succeeded in recapturing the Qalamoun region in southwest Syria, and the regime is also in the final stages of gaining control over the critical city of Homs. Once Assad achieves this goal, the regime will have a clear link between Damascus and Homs, which ensures that the regime’s Alawite heartland will be reconnected to Damascus. Despite Assad’s recent success, however, it is still highly unlikely the regime will be able to regain control over the entire country.

Amos Yadlin and Avner Golov: Formulating an Outline for a Final Agreement with Iran— The interim agreement between Iran and the world powers, led by the United States, entered into force in January 2014 and was designed to allow six months of negotiations on a final agreement. Now, halfway through this period, it appears that Tehran and Washington have begun to implement their negotiations tactics and have chosen respective strategies to shape the final agreement and market it as a strategic accomplishment. This situation requires both a more flexible Israeli position and improved US-Israeli coordination so that any agreement reached is tolerable for Israel.

Lt. Col. (ret.) Michael Segall: Iranian Strategy Feeds Off Perceived Western Weakness— With a further round of the nuclear talks between Iran and the West to be held in mid-May, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei continues to encourage the advancement of Iran’s nuclear program. While giving the talks a green light, he is at the forefront of pessimism about the chances of reaching a comprehensive agreement. Khamenei insisted that despite the ongoing talks, no activity in the R&D field would be stopped or slowed down. He stressed that the main advantage of Iran’s nuclear program is the “strengthening of national security,” a surprising admission considering Iran’s insistence that its nuclear program is only for civilian purposes.

Michael Curtis: Free Press Challenged in the Middle East and in Washington, D.C.— On May 1, 2014 Freedom House issued its latest Freedom of the Press report of 2013, assessing the degree of media freedom in 197 countries and territories in the calendar year. By chance, a few days earlier on April 29, 2014 a previously undisclosed email that had been sent on September 14, 2012 by Ben Rhodes, the deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications for President Barack Obama, to Susan Rice, then American Ambassador to the United Nations, was revealed. The email was only made public after the NGO Judicial Watch asked for documents relating to the terrorist attack on September 11, 2012 on the U.S. Compound in Benghazi, Libya that led to the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others. That email gave talking points to Rice for her forthcoming Sunday five television appearances explaining the nature of the attack.

Josh Rogin: Putin Imposes Secret Sanctions on Pro-Gay Obama Campaign Donors—The Kremlin has expanded its secret “black list” of Americans banned from Russia to include Obama campaign fundraisers tied to the LGBT community and senior Congressmen, diplomatic sources tell The Daily Beast. Moscow’s list, these sources say, was expanded in retaliation to the Obama administration’s attack on the assets of key business associates of Vladimir Putin in March. The Russian government has been working for months to expand the list in response to the three rounds of sanctions against Russian officials, businessmen, and institutions. But unlike the United States, which made all three rounds of sanctions public, the Russian government only publicly revealed one list of sanctioned Americans, which included top Senators and White House officials. The contents of the subsequent additions to the Russian list, however, remain officially undisclosed.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Genesis 5: 25-32

25 Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and became the father of Lamech. 26 Then Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years after he became the father of Lamech, and he had other sons and daughters. 27 So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and he died. 28 Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and became the father of a son. 29 Now he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will give us rest from our work and from the toil of our hands arising from the ground which the LORD has cursed.” 30 Then Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years after he became the father of Noah, and he had other sons and daughters. 31 So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, and he died. 32Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
