Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik: Abbas—All of Israel is occupied Palestine:

All of Israel is “occupied Palestinian land” was part of the message of a speech by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas at a memorial this month. Delivering “the speech of Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine,” member of Fatah Central Committee Jamal Muhaisen stated that “not an inch of the land of Palestine” has been “liberated,” including the “1948 lands,” which is a term the PA and Fatah use to refer to Israel within the Green Line:

“All our holy places are still under occupation, and so far we have not liberated one inch of Palestinian land. All Palestinian land is occupied – Gaza is occupied, the West Bank is occupied, the 1948 lands (i.e., Israel) are occupied and Jerusalem is occupied.”

Dore Gold: The assault on Resolution 242— With unconfirmed rumors appearing in the press about what is likely to happen in the peace process in the months ahead, now is the time to recall exactly what Israel’s rights are in its territorial dispute with the Palestinians over the future of the West Bank. Those rights were first enshrined in the most famous and important U.N. resolution in the peace process, U.N. Security Council Resolution 242. This month marks the anniversary of the resolution. The first draft was proposed on Nov. 7, 1967, while the final draft was adopted unanimously by all 15 Security Council members on Nov. 22 that year.

Michael J. Totten: Egypt as Hostile as Ever toward U.S.—General Sisi knows his country and what it takes to appeal to the Egyptian masses. The whole population is as hostile toward the U.S. as it ever was. Never mind that Americans backed the anti-Mubarak uprising. Never mind that Washington sought good relations with Egypt’s first freely elected government in thousands of years.

David Patrikarakos: Iran’s Point of No Return— Iran’s nuclear bomb is “entering its final stages,” according to an article in the respected defence magazine Jane’s Weekly. Written in 1984. A claim that, to be fair, was only 29 years premature and counting. Alarmist predictions of Iran’s nuclear capabilities have been in circulation for almost thirty years; I have lost count of the number of times Israel has told us that Iran’s nuclear programme is on the brink of the point of no return. Each time a deadline passes, they simply set a new one.

William Booth: Was Yasser Arafat Killed by Polonium Poisoning?—On Wednesday, a team of Swiss experts revealed that tests on PLO chairman Yasser Arafat’s exhumed remains “moderately support the proposition that the death was the consequence of poisoning with polonium-210,” a highly radioactive substance 250,000 times as toxic as cyanide. Before his death in a French hospital on Nov. 11, 2004, Arafat was confined to his Ramallah compound by the Israeli military while the Second Intifada was raging. The head of the Russian Federal Medico-Biological Agency, Vladimir Uiba, whose team also conducted tests on Arafat’s remains, was quoted by the Interfax news agency last month as saying that the PLO leader “could not have been poisoned by polonium.”

Dr. Haim Shine: Our right to exist is not subject to negotiations— U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry cautioned Israelis of the awful scenario that could result should Israel decide not to accept the Palestinian conditions for a political settlement. That scenario included a third Intifada, international isolation and even disrupted military and political aid from the U.S. With such warnings, Kerry joined the ranks of previous secretaries of state who, itching to bring about an agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, caused widespread anger, resulting in many Israeli and Palestinian victims. The victims of the peace process, to use the twisted words of a known Israeli leader.

Emily Amrousi: Whose land is this anyway?— Several years ago, I had the opportunity to interview a high-ranking political figure. My friends advised me on what I should ask about: a final peace agreement with the Palestinians; the water issue; settlement blocs; freedom of maneuverability. Only one wise friend told me this: Ask him to whom this land belongs. That is all. Is it theirs, and are we just holding it for reasons that include security needs and historical longing? Or is it ours? Does this land belong to the Jewish people and to the State of Israel, or are we actually land thieves, just with a good reason to steal?

Abigail R. Esman: Canada’s Growing Islamic Radicalization a Warning Sign— The man who calls himself Abu Muslim sits with his fellow fighters, members of the group Katiba al Muhajireen, and raises his rifle for the camera. He has come to Aleppo to fight, he tells the man who has come to interview him for Britain’s Channel 4. A Muslim convert, he – like some 100 others joining the jihad in Syria’s civil war – has left his family at home. In Canada. The United States’ neighbor to the north is experiencing a radicalization problem, according to a confidential report by the Canadian Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS). Made public earlier this year through a Freedom of Information Act request filed by Canada’s National Post, the report confirms that “Islamist extremists are now radicalizing Canadians at a large number of venues,” ranging from mosques to dinner parties and even the family home.

Matthew Vadum: Purging and Transforming Our Military— President Obama hasn’t just been hollowing out the military since taking office, he’s been gutting it, purging it of ideologically hostile personnel, and fundamentally transforming it into something other than a war-fighting force, military experts say. Although few with military ties are willing to say it openly, it seems the administration is leading an orchestrated effort to seriously undermine the readiness of the military. Some reports indicate that Obama has purged 197 senior military officers since moving into the White House and that many of the retired officers have been harassed at their new civilian jobs for criticizing the president’s policies. The effects of these purges will be felt long after Obama leaves office.

Paul Richter and Ramin Mostaghim: Iran May Be Lowering Expectations for Next Round of Nuclear Talks—Iranian officials appear to be trying to sharply lower expectations for the round of international nuclear negotiations set to begin Thursday in Geneva. Iranian nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said he expects this week’s session will focus on the broad outline of negotiations, and that he doesn’t foresee the first concrete steps toward a deal for about three months. The prediction suggests a much slower timetable than Iranian officials described six weeks ago at the UN when Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif spoke of concluding the entire deal within three or six months.

Andrew Hart: Kerry Scolds Israel For West Bank Occupation—In Jerusalem to rekindle negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians, Secretary of State John Kerry dropped his usual diplomatic air in an interview this week, blaming Israel for the lack of progress, according to the Times of Israel. Kerry said Israel’s continued occupation of the West Bank suggests it’s not committed to peace. “If we don’t end the presence of Israeli soldiers perpetually within the West Bank, then there will be an increasing feeling that if we cannot get peace with a leadership that is committed to non-violence, you may wind up with leadership that is committed to violence,” Kerry said in a joint Israeli-Palestinian television interview.

4--Scripture of the Day USE THIS ONE

The scripture below is from the New American Standard Bible, and the hyperlinks associated with each word are from Strong’s Concordance for the New American Standard Bible.

Jonah 1: 4-6

Yahweh hurled a great wind on the sea and there was a great storm on the sea so that the ship was about to breakup. Then the sailors became afraid and every man cried to his god, and they threw the cargo which was in the ship into the sea to lighten [it] for them. But Jonah had gone below into the hold of the ship, lain down and fallen sound asleep. So the captain approached him and said, “How is it that you are sleeping? Get up, call on your god. Perhaps [your] god will be concerned about us so that we will not perish.”

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
