Patrick Poole: Blind to Terror: The U.S. Government’s Disastrous Muslim Outreach Efforts and the Impact on U.S. Policy—The aftermath of the April 15, 2013 bombings in Boston, Massachusetts, has focused attention on the failure of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to carry out an adequate investigation of the suspected bombers despite warnings from Russian authorities. This failure has partially been attributed to a full scale campaign of political correctness waged inside the bureau and throughout the U.S. government under the Obama administration against any attempt to link jihadi terrorism with anything remotely connected to Islam of any variety (the most radical versions included). This has extended into other segments of the government as well, particularly the Department of Defense.

4--Scripture of the Day

Daniel 11: 5-6

“The king of the South will become strong, but one of his commanders will become even stronger than he and will rule his own kingdom with great power. After some years, they will become allies. The daughter of the king of the South will go to the king of the North to make an alliance, but she will not retain her power, and he and his power will not last. In those days she will be betrayed, together with her royal escort and her father and the one who supported her.”

  • God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This [Yahweh] is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” (Exodus 3: 15)
  • “Therefore behold, I am going to make them know—this time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16: 21)
  • “Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.  In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; and this is His name by which He will be called, ‘Yahweh our righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23: 5-6)
  • Yeshua said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” (John 8: 58)

13--Perspectives

#####

Arnold Ahlert: Obama’s Years of Collaboration with Terror Supporters—It is almost impossible to imagine the Obama administration is embroiled in another major scandal, on top of the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, the DOJ’s seizure of AP and Fox reporters’ phone records and the coverup surrounding the murder of four Americans in Benghazi. Yet a comprehensive article written by investigative reporter Patrick Poole, “Blind to Terror: The U.S. Government’s Disastrous Muslim Outreach Efforts and the Impact on U.S. Policy,” reveals the extent to which the administration has actively engaged with accomplices to terrorism and endangered the American public in the process.

Yoav Limor: IDF: Too big for the state; too small for threats— Some would say that IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz’s announcement Monday about cutting the reserves’ training was the responsible thing to do: The military’s top commander has candidly informed the public how the defense cuts imposed on the IDF by the government will affect people’s sense of security.

Boaz Bismuth: The two faces of Erdogan— Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s biggest problem, first and foremost, is himself. While he has already been a mayor (of Istanbul) and has served three terms as prime minister, the man’s style, to put it politely, does not coincide with his talents. On Sunday evening, protesters descended on Taksim Square amid a carnival-like atmosphere. They weren’t seeking violence, they wanted to protest. Erdogan, for reasons unknown, made two separate speeches in which he actually sought to make the situation worse. His words were like spilling oil on a fire. Erdogan wasn’t trying to be the nice guy. It’s possible he’s unfamiliar with the concept. Regardless, the level of antipathy toward him is steadily rising.

Vladimir Sloutsker: Combating anti-Semitism in Europe— This week, Jewish leaders from around the world convened in Jerusalem for the fourth conference of the Global Forum for Combating Anti-Semitism to formulate a blueprint to tackle the growing scourge of global anti-Semitism. Today, merely 68 years after the end of the Holocaust, virtually no part of Europe is free of the evil of anti-Semitism and hatred that led to Europe’s darkest period in history.

Jonathan S. Tobin: The End of Palestinian Reform—Many in the West have been in denial about the demise of the one genuine moderate in Palestinian politics, ex-prime minister Salam Fayyad. Far from continuing the American-educated technocrat’s policies aimed at stopping corruption and facilitating development, even the New York Times admits that Hamdallah is likely to keep foreign donations “in the family” and return the PA back to the bad old days when Yasir Arafat and his cronies were pocketing billions intended to better the lives of ordinary Palestinians.

Khaled Abu Toameh: Why Abbas Chose a New Palestinian Prime Minister—As long as Salam Fayyad was prime minister, it was almost impossible for Abbas and Fatah to lay their hands on hundreds of millions of dollars of international aid. The new Palestinian prime minister, Rami Hamdallah, is a “yes man” with no political experience. Unlike Fayyad, Hamdallah will now serve as Abbas’ obedient and faithful servant – a powerless prime minister who would rubber-stamp his decisions.

Barry Rubin: Palestinian Authority Finds Perfect Prime Minister— The Palestinian Authority (PA) leader Mahmoud Abbas has appointed a new prime minister. He is Ram Hamdullah. Who? It is useful to remember that the post of PA prime minister was originally forced on PLO, PA, and Fatah leader Yasir Arafat ten years ago in the hope of getting the PA to be more moderate and more competent as an economic and administrative entity. It has not worked too well.

Steve Apfel: Open letter to Steven Friedman: I challenge him to disclose 3 things—Professor Steven Friedman’s pursuit of the BDS agenda poses a threat to the Jewish community as a whole. I’m not thinking only of the latest disruptions of Jewish events. Eventually (as its fast becoming in Europe) anti-Israel activists like Friedman will make life in South Africa impossible for Jews. You can’t hate Israel while tolerating Jews is the lesson Europe has taught.

Alan Dershowitz: Syria Shows Why Israel Must Remain Strong— Fareed Zakaria explained why neither side in the Syrian conflict is likely to surrender: “People fight to the end because they know that losers in such wars get killed or ‘ethnically cleansed.’” In this kind of war the worlds “ethnically cleansed” do not mean displaced or made refugees.  They mean, as Zakaria further explained, massacred:  “Then you have phase 2, which is the massacre of the Alawites, the 14 percent of Syria that has ruled and that will be a bloodbath.”

Steven Plaut: ‘Apartheid’ Amusement Park?— The Left and its satellites in the media found a horrid case of “Israeli apartheid” in recent days.  It is in “Superland.” Superland is Israel’s closest thing to Knott’s Berry Farm or similar amusement parks with digestion-challenging roller coasters to be found on other continents.

14--Blessings from Revelation

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
