Hana Levi Julian: Eve of Holiday, Muslims Hurl Rocks at Jews on Temple Mount—Once again, extremist Muslims tried but failed to prevent Jews from accessing the holiest site in the Jewish faith, with the threat of attacks. Dozens of Arab teens hurled rocks Sunday morning at groups of Jews who were touring the Temple Mount.

4--Scripture of the Day

Daniel 4: 23-27

“In that the king saw an angelic watcher, a holy one, descending from heaven and saying, ‘Chop down the tree and destroy it; yet leave the stump with its roots in the ground, but with a band of iron and bronze around it in the new grass of the field, and let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, and let him share with the beasts of the field until seven periods of time pass over him,’ this is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: that you be driven away from mankind and your dwelling place be with the beasts of the field, and you be given grass to eat like cattle and be drenched with the dew of heaven; and seven periods of time will pass over you, until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes. And in that it was commanded to leave the stump with the roots of the tree, your kingdom will be assured to you after you recognize that it is Heaven that rules. Therefore, O king, may my advice be pleasing to you: break away now from your sins by doing righteousness and from your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, in case there may be a prolonging of your prosperity.”

5--HNIY Print form

His Name is Yahweh explains why the Name of God, Yahweh, is so important.  It’s available in eBook format and in paperback.  It’s also available for free in PDF format.

  • God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This [Yahweh] is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” (Exodus 3: 15)
  • “Therefore behold, I am going to make them know—this time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16: 21)
  • “Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.  In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; and this is His name by which He will be called, ‘Yahweh our righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23: 5-6)
  • Yeshua said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” (John 8: 58)

13--Perspectives

#####

Aharon Lapidot: A bridge under troubled waters— The discovery and exploitation of Israel’s natural gas fields presents the country with problems and options it has never had to consider before.

David M. Weinberg: Dayenu! Enough!— I have a dream: Israelis awake from their slumber and say dayenu — we have conceded enough for the sake of peace with the Palestinians.

Boaz Bismuth: Will Kim Jung-un know when to stop?— It is quite obvious that Pyongyang does not really have the power to hit the U.S. cities it has threatened to attack with missiles, including Washington, D.C.

Richard Baehr: The Obama visit: Did anything change?— While hailed as a success, Obama’s Middle East trip failed to clarify whether the U.S. and Israel had moved any closer on Iran.

Warren Beatty: The PLO Rewrites History—There is not, nor ever has there been, a Palestinian people, state, language, culture, or history. The present-day “Palestinians” are Arabs, with Arabic culture, history, and language.

Jonathan S. Tobin: Don’t Insult the King of Palestine—Last week President Obama used his speech in Jerusalem to Israeli students to once again prop up the idea that Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas is a reliable partner for peace. Despite his refusal to negotiate and his unwillingness to grab an Israeli offer of statehood in 2008, Abbas is still widely viewed in the West as a moderate and a good alternative to the extremists of Hamas. But, as was the case with his predecessor Yasir Arafat, the need to believe in the myth of Palestinian moderation tends to overshadow the truth about Abbas and his rule over the West Bank.

Daniel Greenfield: In Syria, the Choice is Clear: Assad or Muslim Brotherhood/Al Qaeda—The New York Times and the Washington Post have run stories admitting that much of the country “liberated” by the rebels has fallen into the hands of Islamists enforcing the same kind of laws as Mali.

Bethany Mandel: Perfect Example of Why New York Is the “Least Free” State—In a new Mercatus Center survey ranking American states according to the freedom of their citizens, New York found itself dead last. The survey ranked states based on “fiscal policy, regulatory policy, and personal freedom [and weighed] public policies according to the estimated costs that government restrictions on freedom impose on their victims.” A new provision buried in the latest budget out of the New York State legislature perfectly illustrates what earned New York this ranking.

Claudia Rosett: What’s the Deal With the UN Arms Trade Treaty?—Why did Iran, Syria, and North Korea block the UN Arms Trade Treaty?

Andrew E. Harrod: Liberal Certainties and Uncertainties about God, Man, and Marriage—Logically, the pro-same-sex marriage position is a mess. Defenders of marriage will have to expose this if they hope to save the institution.

Andrew C. McCarthy: Shhhh, Don’t Tell Anyone: Hamas Won—Barack Obama brought enough Chicago-style community organizing to Israel that Benjamin Netanyahu knew what he would have to do. If he hoped to keep the tepid support of his country’s essential but icy ally, Israel’s prime minister would have to do what he’d spent nearly three years steadfastly refusing to do. Netanyahu would have to apologize to a state sponsor of terrorism that openly, notoriously, and enthusiastically supports Hamas.

Clarice Feldman: We’re Doomed, Send Money Fast!—Count President Obama as one of the masters of the art of diverting attention from facts, crying doom and grabbing yet more money from our pockets to enrich his buddies, increase his power and further impoverish us.

Ron Radosh: North Korea: Why Now? Is This Time Different?—The threat must be taken seriously.

Jonathan S. Tobin: Time to Redefine Public Education—After decades of struggling to stifle any hope of giving children and their parents a chance to escape from failing schools, liberals are starting to fear their task is inevitably doomed to failure. The decision by the Indiana Supreme Court earlier this week to uphold the constitutionality of the state’s vouchers program that gives low- and middle-income families the right to use state money to attend private schools is a landmark in the long battle for school choice. While this is just one victory in a single state, combined with other developments elsewhere it may not only be the beginning of the erosion of the government education monopoly but a change in the way we define the term public education.

Glenn Fairman: The Leveling Spirit of Equality—As Artistotle and Tocqueville agreed across millennia, equality is the Achilles heel of democracy, subverting rights, destroying values, and in the end leading only to tyranny.

Robert Spencer: James Holmes: It Serves Him Right to Suffer—The Aurora, Colorado shooter has grown his beard and converted to Islam.

Robert Oscar Lopez: Meet the Gay Police State—On March 24, 2013, as I stood with other speakers waiting to take the stage at Paris’s “manif pour tous” against homosexual marriage, I saw tear gas sail through the air at a crowd of peaceful protesters.

Seth Mandel: Beyond Repeal: If Obamacare Survives, It Must Be Fixed—This National Journal piece, titled “The Secret Republican Plan to Repeal ‘Obamacare’,” has come in for a fair amount of mocking on the right. The “secret plan” turns out to be the GOP leadership’s very public, well-known, high-profile desire to … vote to repeal Obamacare. Just last week the GOP put up yet another (failed) amendment to repeal the health care reform law.

Bryan Preston: Shock Video: Planned Parenthood Official Argues In Favor of Post-Birth Abortion—This is where we are as a country: Planned Parenthood has far more access to and influence with our government than the average American. And what Planned Parenthood wants is ghastly.

David Steinberg: ‘Legitimate Life’: Shock Planned Parenthood Video vs. Todd Akin—A proposed “inalienable right to murder” deserves a “national conversation”, no?

Austin Hill: A Free People, And A Resurgence Of Wisdom—“People call this the ‘new normal.’ Let me assure you there is nothing normal about this at all. It’s the new ‘abnormal,’ and it won’t last, because as free people we won’t stand for it…”

Bob Beauprez: The Chart from Hell—On August 7, 2009 Barack Obama thumped his chest in the Rose Garden and proclaimed “We’ve rescued our economy from catastrophe.”  Supposedly, the economic recovery had officially begun two months earlier. That was 1328 days ago.  But, try telling that to somebody that has to work for a living.  Median Household Income continues to fall.

14--Blessings from Revelation

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.

  • Falsely Accused is a true story about a young woman who was accused of committing a double homicide.  It’s about a travesty of justice, and it reveals Yahweh intervening in the life of a believer to rescue her from danger in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.  Everyone will enjoy the book, but young people in particular need to read it because the mistakes made that led to the problem could have been avoided.  They were the kinds of mistakes that young people are prone to make.  As they say, forewarned is forearmed.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
