Matthew M. Hausman: The Shame of Israel Apartheid Week— The blood libel seems to have gained respectability in the halls of academia now that Israel Apartheid Week has become an annual rite on college campuses across North America.  Characterized by hate-speech promoted as political discourse, Israel Apartheid Week (“IAW”) proclaims its goal “is to educate people about the nature of Israel as an apartheid system and to build Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns as part of a growing global BDS movement.”  Its architects contend they are not antisemitic.  However, Israel is not an apartheid state under any definition of the term, and to argue otherwise requires the repetition of odious lies and the denial of historical facts.  Because the claim of Israeli apartheid is a malicious fiction, the antisemitic motivations underlying Israel Apartheid Week cannot be minimized or ignored.

4--Scripture of the Day

Daniel 2: 31-35

“You, O king, were looking and behold, there was a single great statue; that statue, which was large and of extraordinary splendor, was standing in front of you, and its appearance was awesome. The head of that statue was made of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. You continued looking until a stone was cut out without hands, and it struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and crushed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were crushed all at the same time and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away so that not a trace of them was found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.”

  • God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This [Yahweh] is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” (Exodus 3: 15)
  • “Therefore behold, I am going to make them know—this time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16: 21)
  • “Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.  In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; and this is His name by which He will be called, ‘Yahweh our righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23: 5-6)
  • Yeshua said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” (John 8: 58)

13--Perspectives

#####

Boaz Bismuth: North Korea is pushing the limits— It prefers a policy of escalation, and its leaders could teach international relations courses on “how to initiate crises.”

Yaakov Ahimeir: Cracks in the Norwegian veneer— Oslo’s steadfast support of the Palestinian Authority appears shaken after exposure of how much aid supports fostering hatred and incitement against Israel and the Jews.

David M. Weinberg: Close the peace gap— Palestinian rejectionism creates a peace gap that must be closed through intensive education.

Raymond Ibrahim: Obama’s New Libya—Coptic Christian tortured to death in the jihadi state Obama helped create.

Kim Zigfeld: Russian Beauty Queens Stare Down Putin—A second pageant winner has the courage to confront the dictator.

Kyle Shideler: Obama’s Islamist Tilt—We have transformed ourselves, in the span of a decade, from a nation that declares, “You are either with us, or you are with the terrorists,” to a nation that is credibly accused of arming terrorists.

P. David Hornik: Israeli Chief of Staff: Syria ‘Could Blow Up at Any Moment’—Obama on his way to a region on the brink.

Max Boot: American Military Retrenchment and Nuclear Proliferation—The New York Times had a fascinating article on the latest Korean crisis the other day which noted that two-thirds of South Koreans now support developing their own nuclear deterrent–a radical idea for a nation that has been such a close American ally for decades but one that is gaining strength among some foreign policy elites. Significantly, it is not just the increasingly shrill line from Pyongyang which is causing alarm in the South. There are also doubts about the reliability of the U.S. as a protector. The Times notes, “Beyond the immediate fear of a military provocation, analysts say deeper anxieties are also at work in the South. One of the biggest is the creeping resurgence of old fears about the reliability of this nation’s longtime protector, the United States. Experts say the talk of South Korea’s acquiring nuclear weapons is an oblique way to voice the concerns of a small but growing number of South Koreans that the United States, either because of budget cuts or a lack of will, may one day no longer act as the South’s ultimate insurance policy.”

Shoshana Bryen: Training Syrian Rebels to Conquer Golan Heights and Shoot Down Israeli Aircraft—No, they don’t say it quite like that. But for all intents and purposes, that’s what the Obama administration is doing.

Rabbi Moshe Averick: The True Source of Religious-Secular Tension in Israel: The Arrogance of Ben-Gurion (and now Naftali Bennett)— As the latest round of coalition-building maneuvering plays out in Israel – with Bibi Netanyahu, Naftali Bennett (the new false-messiah of religious nationalists; the previous one being Ariel Sharon), and Yair Lapid locked in that time-worn political dance we’ve watched so many times in the past – it is critical to understand the history behind one of the issues so fiercely debated in the current political situation: the “universal” draft of yeshiva (rabbinical) students.

Adam Kredo: Boiling Point—Unrest is growing in the Palestinian territories ahead of President Barack Obama’s first visit to Israel on March 20. Riots and protests have erupted throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip in recent days, prompting some Israeli officials and Middle East observers to warn that Obama’s visit could spark a third intifada.

Ron Radosh: The Hidden Agenda of ‘Organizing for Action’—Campaign tactics, led by the president, for pushing legislation.

Walter E. Williams: Educational Rot—American education is in a sorry state of affairs, and there’s enough blame for all participants to have their fair share. They include students who are hostile and alien to the education process, uninterested parents, teachers and administrators who either are incompetent or have been beaten down by the system, and politicians who’ve become handmaidens for teachers unions.

Seth Mandel: Obama Still Doesn’t Get It—In a CNN interview two years ago, Allen West shared a piece of advice his father gave him: “Never read your own press and never drink your own tub water.” That advice–well, the first half, anyway–is popular among athletes and other celebrities. And it’s advice President Obama clearly doesn’t take–but perhaps should. Both the New York Times and National Journal’s Ron Fournier report today that Obama’s advisors are openly admitting that the president’s outreach to Republicans is a sham, mostly because he thinks reporters aren’t smart enough to know when they’re being played–though the story of the Obama presidency really indicates they know very well, and are simply happy to be part of Obama’s life in some way.

Rick Moran: Could Illinois be run any worse?—The state lied to investors about underfunding the pension system.

Thomas Sowell: Intellectuals and Race: Part II—Once we recognize that large differences in achievement among races, nations and civilizations have been the rule, not the exception, throughout recorded history, there is at least some hope of rational thought — and perhaps even some constructive efforts to help everyone advance.

Brandon Marlon: Ambassadors All: Jews in the 21st Century—In his poignant and insightful writings, outgoing UK and Commonwealth Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks often avers that Judaism serves as “the voice of hope in an age of fear, the countervoice in the conversation of humankind.” No light assignment, that. The more one ponders it, the more daunting the role seems.

Nadav Shragai: The Mount of Olives in Jerusalem: Why Continued Israeli Control Is Vital— The Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives, that the Palestinians demand to transfer to their control, is the most important Jewish cemetery in the world. The area has constituted a religious and national pantheon for the Jewish people and the State of Israel, containing the tombs of the illustrious dead of the nation over the course of 3,000 years and serving as a site for Jewish gathering and prayer at the time of the ancient Temple and even prior to it. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish access and the continued burial of Jews on the mount was prohibited, despite Jordan’s explicit commitment in the Israeli-Jordanian Armistice Agreement of 1949. During the period of Jordanian rule, the cemetery was destroyed and desecrated, and 38,000 of its tombstones and graves were smashed to smithereens.

Jonathan S. Tobin: Don’t Let Facts Hinder Israel-Bashing—The human costs of last fall’s outbreak of fighting between Hamas and Israel was all too real on both sides of the border. Civilian casualties in war are inevitable, but should never be seen as anything but a tragedy that should be avoided if at all possible. But the willingness of the Jewish state’s critics in the media to embrace a Palestinian narrative of Israeli beastliness has led to a double standard that has distorted accounts of the conflict. Palestinian terror attacks that lead to Israeli counter-measures tend to be ignored unless they succeed in achieving their goal of mass slaughter. Israeli attacks on terrorists are depicted as disproportionate with little context to put them in perspective. And when Palestinian children are killed in a conflict in which Hamas uses civilians as human shields, the result is often an emotional account in which images of supposed Israeli atrocities substitute for a reasoned explanation of what has occurred.

Bridget Johnson: Government Advertises for Nearly 2,600 New Jobs Since Sequestration—President Obama warned of dire cutbacks and consequences should sequestration go into effect March 1. The cuts happened, and the administration swears it’s not overreacting to the bare-bones budget directive. But in the days since the hammer of sequestration fell, the federal government is hiring anew. This includes 107 new positions at the Department of Homeland Security, which has freed illegal immigrants citing budgetary constraints.

Hussein Ibish: Hamas’ Disenchantment with Morsi—Many Hamas leaders were convinced that the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt would mean a radical transformation of its fortunes and hold the key to its eventual control of the Palestinian national movement. However, it has become clear that the Morsi government is at least as problematic as its much-hated Mubarak predecessor.

Eric Rozenman: Settlements Not Illegal under International Law—UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon erroneously has asserted, for the fourth time in two years, that “all [Israeli] settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian territory, including east Jerusalem, is illegal under international law.” Article 6 of the League of Nations’ 1922 Palestine Mandate encouraged “close Jewish settlement” on the land west of the Jordan River. The 1945 UN Charter, Chapter XII, Article 80, continues Jewish rights recognized under the Mandate. Furthermore, UN Security Council resolutions 242 (1967) and 338 (1973) do not call for Israeli withdrawal from all the West Bank. So Jews building communities west of the Jordan River do so in accord with relevant international laws.

David Schenker, Michael Herzog, Andrew J. Tabler, and Jeffrey White: UN Peacekeepers on the Golan Heights at Risk—The UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) on the Golan Heights was created after the October 1973 War to supervise the Israeli-Syrian disengagement agreement, and its 1,000-man force has been conducting bimonthly inspections within 15 miles on either side of the border ever since.

J. Christian Adams: Breaking: Inspector General Report on Racialist Dysfunction inside DOJ—Today the Department of Justice inspector general released a report on potential Labor secretary nominee Tom Perez’s DOJ Civil Rights Division. The timing of the release to coincide with his nomination was certainly accidental, because the report paints a damning portrait of the DOJ unit he managed. […]The report was prepared in response to Representative Frank Wolf’s (R-VA) outrage over the New Black Panther voter intimidation dismissal.  In response to the report, Rep. Wolf said today, the “report makes clear that the division has become a rat’s nest of unacceptable and unprofessional actions, and even outright threats against career attorneys and systemic mismanagement.”

Michael Oberndorf: Obama’s Outrages— As if it isn’t glaringly obvious, the America-Destroyer-in-Chief has ramped up his attacks exponentially since he got away with the massive voter fraud that gave him the election. He’s continued his policy of nominating far-left, incompetent crooks and extremists to important positions of power, a policy that couldn’t work without the complicity and connivance of the Republican Establishment. And that is just for starters.

Ken Dilanian: Attacks more dangerous to U.S. security than al-Qaida coming?— Cyber attacks and cyber espionage pose a greater potential danger to U.S. national security than al-Qaida and other militants that have dominated America’s global focus since Sept. 11, 2001, the nation’s top intelligence officials said Tuesday.

S. Fred Singer: Another Hockey Stick?—Green forces, eager to promote their theories of global warming, appear to be practicing intellectual recycling. Is this the return of the notorious hockey stick – which, in 2001, was the central dogma of Anthropogenic Global Warming?

14--Blessings from Revelation

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
