“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

Benyamin Netanyahu will Lead the Israeli Government, Not the “Far-right” Israeli Government

The Israeli people have re-elected Benyamin Netanyahu. It looks like he has enough support to form a government, take on the role of prime minister, and move on.

My friends in Israel tell me that they hate elections. I can understand why. Israel has had so many elections over the past few years that I am certain my Israeli friends are glad it is finally over.

News reports in the U.S. about the Israeli election suggest that the Israeli people elected a “far-right” government. U.S. journalists who draw that conclusion have a Democrat political bias. They would have preferred it if a more pro-Palestinian candidate had won the election, so they use the phrase “far-right” as a slur.

I am not ignorant about the goings-on in Israel. For more than ¼ of a century, I have been exploring the country and getting to know the people: Jews, Israeli Arabs, and Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs, but they are not Israeli citizens. Israeli Arabs are citizens of Israel.

Since the Oslo Peace Accords were signed in 1993, Palestinian terrorist attacks on Israeli citizens have increased dramatically. Despite their rhetoric, Palestinian leaders have made it perfectly clear that they don’t want peace with Israel. They want to destroy Israel, and they are very upfront about it when they talk with other Palestinians.

The Palestinian rallying cry is “From the River to the Sea Palestine Will be Free”. The river is the Jordan River. The Sea is the Mediterranean Sea. That includes all of Israel. Clearly, the freedom that Palestinian leaders want means the annihilation of Israel. That’s the kind of peace in Israel that Democrats in the U.S. want to see as well.

Since most U.S. Jews are Democrats, that makes me wonder about them. I’ll leave it at that for now.

At this point, I want to expose a lie suggested by the claim that Israel elected a “far-right” government. The voters in the Israeli election were all Israeli citizens. The election result reveals the consensus among them. The consensus candidate won, not a “far-right” candidate.

The consensus in Israel is that Palestinian terrorism can’t be allowed to continue. That’s the smart conclusion. It’s not the “far-right” conclusion.

Palestinian leaders are good at spreading propaganda among people all over the world who don’t know much about the goings-on in Israel. Most of the people who accept their propaganda have never been to Israel. All they know is what they are told, and they are being told lies. They can be persuaded to get behind Palestinian causes and to donate money to support them, but they ignorant about the reality on the ground.

The Israeli people have a lot to lose if they make mistakes. Most Jews living in U.S. cities like Los Angeles and New York, for example, have spent almost no time in Israel, so they can’t fathom what living in Israel is like. They should think long and hard before they get onboard with Israel’s enemies abroad and in the Democrat Party.

The Israeli people elected the man they think best represents them and their interests. That man is Benyamin Netanyahu. He will lead the Israeli government, not the far-right Israeli government.

“I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me — just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father — and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd. The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life — only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.”

John 10: 14-18
