China is Driving a Wedge between Europe and the United States

Napoleon Bonaparte hit the nail on the head when he said, “Let China sleep, for when she wakes, she will shake the world.”

China was a sleeping giant, but China isn’t sleeping any longer. She is wide awake and targeting the world.

We see evidence of China’s global ambitions on every continent and in almost every country. Her Belt and Road Initiative aims to build the infrastructure needed in countries around the world and in the process to indebt those countries to China. For many countries, the debts will be too high to repay, so China will demand payment in land and control.

China is even investing heavily in the U.S. and Israel. Its goals in the U.S. and Israel are the same as its goals in other countries. See the articles below:

China’s latest foray involves Europe, particularly Europe’s 800-pound gorilla, Germany. President Xi is in the process of driving a wedge between Europe and the United States, and it begins in Continental Europe’s richest and most powerful country. I said “begins”, because that’s all it is, a beginning. See the articles below:

I believe China will succeed. I believe European leaders are looking for some other country besides the U.S. to pay their countries’ bills. China is perfectly willing to oblige them, for a hefty price. Problem is, European leaders won’t know what the price is until it’s too late.

We are venturing into a new world. China will be much more powerful as it emerges, and China has already demonstrated that it’s willing to pay the upfront costs in order to gain global political control.

If you are a Bible prophecy buff, you know that a 200-million-man army will invade Israel for the Battle of Armageddon. Armageddon is a translation. It refers to Mount Megiddo in northern Israel. In Hebrew, Mount Megiddo is “Har Megiddo”. Hence, Armageddon.

Megiddo sits beside the Jezreel Valley, but it’s not really a mountain. It’s a tel or a hill created by many generations of people who live and rebuild on the tops of ruins. As tels rise and spread out, eventually they resemble natural hills. Typically, they are located over springs. The availability of water is what kept people there.

Below are 2 pictures of Tel Megiddo. In the first picture, my biological daughter, Melanie, and my Israeli daughter, Noam, are sitting in front of the Tel Megiddo sign at the entrance to the site. Melanie is on the left. Noam is on the right. In the second picture, we are exploring Tel Megiddo. The Jezreel Valley is in the background in the second picture. As you can see, Megiddo is right beside it.

Mount Carmel sits beside the Jezreel Valley, too. From the top of Mount Carmel, you can see Megiddo. Elijah had the confrontation with the prophets of Ba’al at the top of Mount Carmel. The video below shows the place where Elijah had that confrontation, and it shows Megiddo as seen from that spot. As the crow flies, Megiddo is about 8½ miles southeast of Mount Carmel, and the Mediterranean Sea is about 9½ miles west of Mount Carmel.

In Arabic, Mount Carmel is called “Al-Mukhraqa”. Al-Mukhraqa means the place where fire came down. It’s interesting that Arabs have retained that name for this site in Arabic as a reminder that Yahweh destroyed the prophets of Ba’al in about 850 BC. Fire from Yahweh came down out of heaven and consumed Elijah’s offering, and Elijah killed the prophets of Ba’al at the foot of Mount Carmel beside the brook Kishon. (See 1 Kings 18:20-46.)

That was almost 2,900 years ago, so Elijah’s confrontation with the prophets of Ba’al made a lasting impression on the people who lived near Mount Carmel at that time. Tidbits of information like this make Israel come alive when you visit.

In the video, I showed you the place where Elijah was standing on Mount Carmel when he looked out toward the Mediterranean Sea and saw a cloud forming. I took the video in late-May. It was a hot, sunny day, but it was also very hazy. You could not see the Mediterranean, because the haze was too thick.

I took the picture below from that same spot in late-October or early-November. I can’t remember for sure. It was another sunny day, but it was much cooler and much less hazy. In fact, there was almost no haze. The Mediterranean is easy to see in this picture, even though it is about 9½ miles away as the crow flies. This was Elijah’s view of the sea.

Be that as it may, China is the only country in the world with the ability to support a 200-million-man fighting force and the will to do it. I am not trying to tell you that I know we are approaching the Battle of Armageddon any time soon, but I am saying that China’s moves throughout the world deserve our attention. We could be approaching the final battle on Earth before Yahweh returns. Personally, I think China will play an important part in it. We’ll see. The timing of everything is in Yahweh’s hands alone.

I’m not trying to frighten anyone, because I know who wins in the end. However, when that day comes, unbelievers will have a lot to fear. I’ll stop with that for now.
