“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

America’s ‘Acute’ Foreign Policy Disarray

I borrowed this title from Pete Hoekstra. He’s with the Gatestone Institute International Policy Council. He’s a bright scholar and a gifted writer, but I borrowed his title for another reason. I’ll get to that later.

There’s one thing that I really like about the articles published by Gatestone Institute. They begin by giving readers a bullet point synopsis of the article’s content. That’s how I write. I start by making a list of the things I want to say, and then, I write.

Below is a synopsis of Hoekstra’s article titled “America’s ‘Acute’ Foreign Policy Disarray”:

  • Saudi Arabia is deeply concerned… that the Iran agreement will soon be back on the table…. The Saudis quite correctly believe that that the new Iran deal, rather than stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons, would actually pave the way to nuclear weapons, in addition to giving Iran’s despotic regime up to a trillion dollars — if the mullahs would please just not use the nuclear weapons on the Biden administration’s watch.
  • While the grisly murder of Osama bin Laden’s close friend Jamal Khashoggi was far from acceptable, the sad reality is that the Kingdom is no more guilty of unspeakable behavior than are Iran, Russia, China, North Korea, Turkey Venezuela, Qatar or a number of other nations that the Biden administration and the international community are cozying up to.
  • Many onlookers believe that the Saudi move is a direct signal to Biden about Saudi Arabia’s concerns over the “stalled” but apparently not-quite-ended-yet nuclear deal with Iran.
  • Although Biden supposedly will examine all aspects of the U.S.-Saudi relationship, he threatened the kingdom with “consequences” — reportedly by suspending arms sales — all because Saudi Arabia is trying to defend itself from being potentially obliterated by an openly hostile Iran.
  • The U.S. seeks to harshly punish any country opposed to U.S. efforts for a questionable nuclear agreement that would empower Iran, and vastly enrich it and its numerous terrorist proxies, including the Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Through them, Iran is already effectively in charge of four countries in addition to its own: Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iraq.
  • If the U.S. really believes Russia is an acute threat, the U.S. should act as if it is and stop propping up Russia’s allies, such as Iran.
  • The U.S. should be working with countries in the Middle East to support efforts against Russia and Iran’s regime.
  • No wonder questions are being raised as to just how “compromised” Biden might actually be.
  • The U.S. would do well to stop this foolish obsession with getting a new Iran nuclear deal. It is inconsistent with the rest of America’s values, foreign policy and national security interests. Send a clear message to Russia, Iran’s mullahs, Europe, the Middle East — and, most importantly, to Iranian and American citizens — that the Iran nuclear deal, finally, is dead.

Saying that our nation’s foreign policy is in disarray is an understatement. Our ship of state doesn’t have a rudder. Thanks to Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, our nation’s foreign policy is practically nonexistent. We are doing things that make absolutely no sense. That’s why leaders around the world are thumbing their noses at us, but that’s not why I borrowed Hoekstra’s title. I borrowed his title, because he used the word “acute” in it.

The word “acute” is used by doctors a lot. Several years ago, my sister had bronchitis, so she went to the doctor. He told her that she had acute bronchitis. My mother called me later that day to tell me that my sister had been to the doctor, and then, she told me the doctor’s diagnosis. My mother likes to dramatize things, so she said, “Carol has ACUTE bronchitis.”

I capitalized ever letter in acute to indicate the way my mother said it. She emphasized the word “acute”, because in her world, “acute” meant a really bad case of bronchitis.

Doctors are prone to use words that ordinary people don’t use and don’t understand. I don’t like it, but it’s true.

Acute doesn’t mean that it’s a really bad case. It simply means that the problem just started, but my mother didn’t know that. If my sister had had bronchitis for a while, the doctor would have told her that she had chronic bronchitis. “Chronic” means that you have had the problem for a while.

Our nation’s foreign policy really is in disarray, and it’s an acute problem, meaning it is of recent vintage. In other words, it is a result of our having elected Joe Biden as president.

Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said, “I think he [Joe Biden] has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” Gates was right. Biden’s decision-making isn’t guided by principles. He looks for politically expedient solutions regardless of their outcomes. On top of that, Biden is not a smart man, and he never was a smart man. His dementia only made things worse. Still, Democrats wanted Joe Biden to be their leader, and now we are stuck with him for 2 more years.

Biden is like a small child who has no clue what he is doing. He does what he does without thinking things through. Like a small child, he doesn’t consider the consequences of his decisions. That’s why he attacked the U.S. energy industry right out of the gate. That was a colossal mistake, and we are paying the price for that decision right now.

As you watch food prices rise, thank Joe Biden. He did that.

As you watch gas prices rise, thank Joe Biden. He did that.

As you watch interest rates rise, thank Joe Biden. He did that.

As you watch the value of your home plummet and your retirement nest egg shrink, thank Joe Biden. He did that.

Why did President Biden make such a ridiculous decision? He did it to appease the left wing of the Democrat Party. Its leaders like to jet around the country, and at each stop, they harangue us about the climate change problem.

Democrats breathe rarified air in their cloistered world. In their world, climate change is an acute problem that is caused by hydrocarbons. In their world, we are the problem, because we use gas in our cars and electricity that is produced with hydrocarbons. They think that we need to return to a better world, a world that is free of hydrocarbons. The world they want us to return to is like the world that existed before the invention of the wheel.

Democrats also think the world’s population is too large by several billion people. They are thinking hard right now about how to solve that problem, and their solution involves eliminating people. Interestingly, Democrat leaders are not thinking about eliminating themselves. They think they are essential. The rest of us are not.

That’s not a joke.

Be that as it may, our nation’s foreign policy really is in disarray, and it is an acute problem. Thankfully, there is a solution to our problem. Don’t vote for Democrats. The Democrat Party is our problem now just like the Nazi Party was Germany’s problem in the days leading up to World War II.

Democrats won’t like the way I am equating them with the Nazi Party in Germany. That’s too bad. To me, the resemblance is striking. Both are evil.

“I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me — just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father — and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd. The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life — only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.”

John 10: 14-18
