March 6, 2022 SnyderTalk—Putin Says Sanctions are an “Act of War”

“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

Putin Says Sanctions are an “Act of War”

Vladimir Putin may be beginning to understand what he has done. After he ordered Russian troops to invade Ukraine in an unprovoked attack, the United States and countries in Europe starting applying sanctions against Russia, key political and military figures in Russia, and Russian oligarchs close to Putin. Those sanctions are just starting to take effect, and Putin is feeling the heat.

Thanks to the Russian dictator, Russia has almost no friends in the world. Even China is keeping its distance from Putin. At this moment, it looks as though only Iran, Syria, and Belarus want anything to do with him.

Putin declared that the sanctions are an act of war, because he realizes that he has dug a deep hole for himself. He’s searching for a way to make it sound like he is the victim instead of the Ukrainians his troops are murdering.

Vladimir Putin is coming unhinged. He probably believed he could pull off a Hitleresque style invasion, and the world would sit back and watch. Putin isn’t stupid, so it must be a sign of insanity taking hold.

Putin is still sane enough to realize that the effects of the sanctions on Russia and everyone close to him will get a lot worse going forward. Soon, he and those close to him should understand that if there is a World War III thanks to Putin’s foolish attempt to recreate the Soviet Empire, it will be the world against Russia.

With each passing day, with each feeble attempt to paint himself as the victim, Vladimir Putin is digging his own grave. The Russian people are being forced to suffer the consequences of Putin’s actions, too. They are innocent victims as well, and they are the ones most likely to put him in it.

This isn’t 1939. We’ve seen this before. We know the mistakes we made with Hitler. We won’t make those same mistakes again.

For What It’s Worth

Sanctions are an act of war. In this instance, they are not designed to conquer an enemy. They are designed to bring a dictator to his senses before it’s too late.

We need to pray that the Russian government and the Russian military were astute enough to place safeguards on Russia’s nuclear trigger. A deranged dictator in the final stages of his life can do a lot of damage, and the world is determined not to let Putin have his way.

When it became obvious to everyone in Nazi Germany except Hitler that World War II was over and that the Nazis had lost, Hitler decided to ramp up his Final Solution. Putin is demonstrating that same quality of thinking.

Also, For What It’s Worth

The Putin problem isn’t new. In 2012, Mitt Romney made clear that Russia was the biggest threat we faced in the international arena. Barack Obama mocked and ridiculed him for it.

Romney was right. Obama was wrong.

Under Obama’s watch, Putin invaded Georgia and the Crimean Peninsula which belonged to Ukraine. Obama did nothing to stop him. Putin probably thinks he is supposed to get away with murder.

Quoting Obama, “Elections matter.”

Elections still matter, and mistakes are costly.

“I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me — just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father — and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd. The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life — only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.”

John 10: 14-18
