“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

“This is a pandemic!” So what?

Before you read this SnyderTalk editorial, please watch the short video below. It’s an audio recording of oral arguments before the Supreme Court:

The woman’s voice that you hear in the video is Sonia Sotomayor, an associate justice of the Supreme Court. She seems incredulous that anyone would have the audacity to question the authority of a federal government agency during a pandemic. She isn’t hyperventilating, but her words are very strong. You could even say that her words are over-the-top.

Before I go any further, I need to tell you that I have been vaccinated with the Humira vaccine, 2 shots, and I have received the Humira booster shot. I am following Israeli protocols, because as soon as Israel opens up again, I will schedule a trip. I don’t have a choice. If I want to go to Israel, I must comply with their rules.

Even so, I have serious reservations about this pandemic. I don’t doubt the existence of the COVID virus and the variants of it, but I think we have gone overboard as a nation to deal with what appears to be an insignificant problem for most people.

Since shortly after the pandemic started, we have known that people who are most at risk of dying or of getting seriously sick from the disease are very old, diabetic, morbidly obese, and otherwise unhealthy people. Furthermore, we know that each new variant of the disease is more infectious and weaker than the one before.

Early on in the pandemic, we were fed a steady diet of horrific facts about the disease by our so-called “medical experts”. Listening to them, it was easy to conclude that we had no choice except to take extraordinary steps to prevent the disease from spreading. Now we know that allowing the disease to spread is the best way to destroy it. It’s called “herd immunity”.

Along the way, we have witnessed serious breaches of our trust. For example, perfectly good drugs that could have been used to effectively treat the disease were forbidden. We weren’t even allowed to talk about those drugs on social media. If we did, Facebook and Twitter would punish us. Doctors that prescribed those drugs were reported to health boards that in turn threatened to take away their licenses to practice medicine.

If this pandemic were really as serious as we were being told, does it make any sense to believe that the use of effective treatments for the disease would have been prohibited? Of course not. The obvious conclusion is that something is going on here that we are not being told about.

What is the ulterior motive of our government officials? What are they trying to achieve that they don’t want to tell us about?

Then came the counting. All of us have heard stories about hospitals being paid exorbitant sums by our government for treating COVID patients, and we have also heard that patients were identified as COVID patients even if they didn’t have the disease. As a result, most of us don’t trust the numbers that we are being given. I can assure you that I don’t trust the numbers or the people giving them to me.

A few months ago, a man who lives near me died of heart failure. He was morbidly obese. I have been walking by his house almost every day for many years. Every time I saw him, I thought he could die any moment. He has looked like death walking since I first saw him. Without even testing him, local authorities said that COVID was the cause of his death. His wife went ballistic. Eventually, the local authorities backed down and changed the cause of death on his death certificate to heart failure.

I’m positive that most of us are familiar with examples like that one. We have very good reasons to be skeptical about the things we are being told about the COVID pandemic. The best examples we have, though, are coming from athletics.

We are winding down the college and pro football seasons. Every week since late August, hundreds of college and pro football games have been played in stadiums across the country. The stadiums were packed, and no one attending the games adhered to the COVID protocols that our government officials told us were necessary for our protection. The towns in which those games were played have experienced no adverse consequences. That tells us a lot about the pandemic.

Ironically, a few days before Thanksgiving, Anthony Fauci went public with his concern about people gathering for Thanksgiving dinners with their families. I think that was the most idiotic thing I have ever witnessed in light of Fauci’s conspicuous silence during the college and pro football seasons. If people thought Fauci was a quack before, his absurd comment should have removed any doubts in their minds. As far as I am concerned, Anthony Fauci is an ignoramus. Anyone who takes his advice is making a mistake.

It’s no surprise to me that thinking people across the country are fed up with our government officials locking us down, requiring us to wear masks, and mandating things that have marginal value if they have any value at all. At this point, I would be shocked if people were not upset.

We have added greatly to an already debt-ridden federal government, shut down schools, destroyed businesses, and made life difficult for hardworking Americans. Why? The evidence suggests that we were using sledge hammers to swat gnats. That’s not just costly and unnecessary. It’s also stupid.

Justice Sotomayor may not get it, but most Americans do. She may be intelligent, but she is not very smart. It makes no sense to gut our nation’s economy to guard against a disease that has more in common with a cold or a mild case of the flu than anything else.

I still want to know what ulterior motives are driving our government officials, particularly Democrat government officials. They talk the most and the loudest. They are up to something, and it’s not good. You can call it a conspiracy theory if you want, but to me, it’s obvious.

I’ll finish with this: I have a strong hunch that most of us have gotten COVID by now and that we didn’t even know it. I many never know. I have never been tested, and unless they test me when I arrive in Israel, I don’t plan to be tested.

“I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me — just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father — and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd. The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life — only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.”

John 10: 14-18
