“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

It’s Time to Hit Facebook Executives Where It Hurts Most: The Pocketbook

On Sunday October 3, Frances Haugen, a former Facebook executive turned whistleblower, gave a scathing interview to 60 Minutes. Among other things, she said the following:

  • Facebook “pushes far-right misinformation to Trump supporters”.
  • “Facebook has data confirming the scale of the problem”.
  • “Facebook “claims to be tackling the spread of disinformation on its platform…[but those claims] were false”.
  • Facebook “promotes divisive and extremist content to users who have taken no action to search it out”, because divisive content motivates Facebook users and makes the company lot of money.
  • “Facebook’s claims that it only shows such content to people who seek it out are false”.
  • Facebook knew that its platform was being used to “promote human trafficking and domestic servitude”.

Facebook executives have taken actions that are dangerous, even life-threatening at times, and possibly illegal. They did those things knowingly, because it was profitable. At best, they are malicious. Investigations should begin immediately to determine if some of them should be charged with felonies.

So far, Facebook executives has not been held accountable. They must believe that they can do anything they want with impunity. This kind of behavior can’t be allowed to continue.

Facebook Users are Punished for Sharing Accurate Information if it Deviates from the Company’s Position

Facebook users who posted articles about Hydroxychloroquine (generic Plaquenil) and Ivermectin were punished by the company. Those two drugs have been tested on COVID patients and have proven to be effective in treating the disease if used properly. The cost of COVID treatment using Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin is a small fraction of the cost of other COVID treatments, and those drugs have been on the market for many years. They have a long history of effectiveness.

What was going through the minds of Facebook executives when they decided to take disciplinary action against Facebook users for posting reputable articles about those drugs that were based on real science? That’s a question the executives need to answer in court.

It could be that the findings reported in those and other articles contradicted Facebook executives’ strongly held opinions. The executives might have wanted to silence anyone who didn’t support their position regardless of the consequences. It’s also possible that Facebook was paid to do what it did by companies that profited from vaccinations.

A courtroom is the place to extract answers to those questions. Testifying before Congress is not the appropriate venue. We’ve already seen that spectacle many times. It’s little more than a political circus where showboating politicians compete with each other to take center stage.

It’s time to hold Facebook executives accountable. It’s time for them to pay for their malicious deeds. Regardless of their criminal culpability, Facebook executives need to be hit where it hurts most: The pocketbook.

For What It’s Worth

Yesterday morning, I read an article about Frances Haugen’s 60 Minutes interview and posted it on Facebook. Later in the day, I tried to log into my Facebook account and couldn’t connect. I don’t suffer from paranoia, but the first thing that crossed my mind was that Facebook had suspended my account for posting that article.

I googled Facebook and discovered that the company’s platforms had been down most of the day. That was the problem, but the fact that my first thought was that Facebook was being malicious again is telling. I suspect I’m not the only Facebook user who has serious doubts about the company’s trustworthiness.

“I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me — just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father — and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd. The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life — only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.”

John 10: 14-18
