August 28, 2021 SnyderTalk—The Ongoing Hypocrisy of Congressional Democrats is Outrageous

“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

The Ongoing Hypocrisy of Congressional Democrats is Outrageous

I want to make 3 points. I’ll begin with the most obvious one.

Point 1

If President Trump had criticized the Supreme Court the way Nancy Pelosi and other Congressional Democrats are doing, all of them and their media lackeys would have excoriated him. Late night talk show hosts would have joined in. It would have been a circus.

I am not suggesting that the Supreme Court is perfect or that members of Congress don’t have the right to criticize Supreme Court decisions. I’m simply pointing out that Congressional Democrats are shameless hypocrites. I hope and pray that the American people will wake up to that reality before it’s too late.

Point 2

The second point is more subtle. Ordinary Americans may not see it immediately, but it is painfully obvious to members of Congress including Congressional Democrats. In order to make it clear, please read a short excerpt from “‘Arbitrary and cruel’: Democrats excoriate Supreme Court decision on eviction moratorium”:

In an unsigned opinion, six justices sided with a group representing landlords, who had argued that the CDC had no authority to impose such a restriction on its own.

“It would be one thing if Congress had specifically authorized the action that the CDC has taken. But that has not happened,” the court wrote. “Instead, the CDC has imposed a nationwide moratorium on evictions in reliance on a decades-old statute that authorizes it to implement measures like fumigation and pest extermination.”

The Supreme Court ruling in this case is based on the facts and the law. The CDC was not given the authority by Congress to impose a nationwide moratorium on evictions by landlords. In other words, what the CDC did was illegal.

If Congressional Democrats want the moratorium on evictions to stand, all they need to do is pass legislation granting the CDC the authority to impose a moratorium on evictions and get the president to sign the bill. Or Democrats in Congress could decide to bypass the CDC altogether and impose a moratorium on evictions themselves. All they need to do is pass a law to that effect and get the president to sign the bill.

Everybody in Congress knows that Congress has the authority to impose a moratorium on evictions. They also know that the CDC does not have that authority without a law to that effect being written and signed by the president. So, why are Congressional Democrats criticizing a Supreme Court decision that is based on the facts and the law?

The answer is simple. Congressional Democrats believe that there should be a moratorium on evictions by landlords during the pandemic, but they don’t want to infuriate landlords in their districts by passing legislation to that effect.

Landlords tend to be very active in their communities, and they tend to be wealthier than most Americans. If Congressional Democrats pass a law prohibiting landlords from evicting their tenants during the pandemic, they know that they will be blamed for it, and they know that they will pay a price politically.

It’s easier and safer for Congressional Democrats to let a government agency, the CDC in this instance, do their dirty work for them. The Supreme Court didn’t go along with their scheme. It said, “Not this time. If you want an eviction moratorium, write a law, pass it, and get the president to sign it.”

Point 3

Congressional Democrats have a sordid history of using the Supreme Court to impose laws on us that Congress didn’t write and the president didn’t sign. Roe v. Wade is a perfect example.

The Constitution does not grant women the right to take the lives of their unborn children with impunity. There is no law on the books granting them that right, either. The Supreme Court simply ruled that women have the right to murder their unborn children with impunity.

The Supreme Court doesn’t have that authority. It can’t write laws. I can only interpret laws that are written by Congress and signed by the president.

The Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade won’t stand, because it is illegal. Congressional Democrats know it. Their attack on the Supreme Court for ruling that the CDC doesn’t have the authority to impose a moratorium on evictions by landlords is a prelude to their attack on the Supreme Court for reversing the illegal precedent set by Roe v. Wade.

That day is coming, and Congressional Democrats know it.

As I said, Congressional Democrats are shameless hypocrites. They don’t have the courage to do in Congress what they must do to pass legislation that they know will be unpopular with voters. Instead, they look for ways to impose their sinister agenda on us in backdoor fashion, so they won’t be blamed by voters.

Most ordinary Americans are not as diabolical, immoral, and underhanded as Congressional Democrats. For them to impose their sinister agenda on us and survive politically, they must play a con game, and they are good at it. Not this time, though.

The Supreme Court is wising up. So are the American people.

“I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me — just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father — and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd. The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life — only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.”

John 10: 14-18
