Yahweh Appears to Abraham Again
When Abraham was 99 years old, Yahweh appeared to him (Genesis 17: 1) and said, “I am El Shaddai; walk before Me, and be blameless. I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.” (Genesis 17: 1-2) When Abraham saw Yahweh, he knew immediately that he was in the presence of the Almighty God, and he fell on his face before Him. (Genesis 17: 3)
Yahweh told Abraham that circumcision would be the sign of the covenant between them and that his wife Sarah would have a son through whom the covenant would pass to future generations. Abraham fell on his face and laughed (Genesis 17: 17) when God told him Sarah would have a son because Sarah was about 90 years old at the time—well past childbearing years. Ishmael, Abraham’s son by Hagar, was 13 years old at the time so Abraham asked Yahweh to fulfill His promise through Ishmael instead. God said, “No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him….” (Genesis 17: 19)
Yahweh made it clear that His covenant would not pass through Ishmael. He was the product of Sarah’s desire to have a son, Abraham’s willingness to oblige Sarah, and Hagar’s consent to become the mother of Abraham’s child. They simply took it upon themselves to solve Sarah’s problem. It’s possible, even probable, that Abraham thought he needed to take matters into his own hands to fulfill Yahweh’s promise to give the Promised Land to his descendants.
Isaac’s birth was a miracle—a gift from God, and Yahweh spoke to Abraham face-to-face to emphasize that everything pertaining to the covenant was, and is, based on His promises and His desires. All God required from Abraham was faith in Him and obedience to His Word. Although Yahweh made it clear that Isaac was the child of the covenant, He made several promises to Abraham about Ishmael: “As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. But My covenant I will establish with Isaac….When He finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.”( Genesis 17: 20-22)
There can be no doubt that Yahweh appeared in Person to make these points.
Fact is Stranger than Fiction
Dr. Mohamed Mostafa ElBaradei, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), believes that talk about the Iranian nuclear threat is mostly hype. As you would expect, it didn’t take Tehran long to hype ElBaradei’s opinion as fact: click here.
Problem is Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad brazenly declared that Israel should be wiped off the map. He’s a Holocaust denier. From Ahmadinejad’s point of view, allowing the Jewish people to live in their homeland—the land Yahweh promised to give them—is wrong. Truth be told, allowing the Jews to live at all is a problem for Ahmadinejad. He’s a lot like Adolf Hitler in that regard. Under his “leadership,” Iran has been the primary supporter of Hamas and Hezbollah both financially and with weapons so they can engage in terrorist attacks on Israel.
Ahmadinejad insists that Iran has a right to develop nuclear “energy.” It looks as though Dr. ElBaradei is in the minority when it comes to speculating about Iran’s nuclear intentions. In fact, he may be all alone. Even Russia and China have concerns about a “nuclear Iran.”
As Iran’s primary target, Israel has a lot more at stake in this discussion than any other nation. From Israel’s point of view, a nuclear Iran with missile delivery capabilities is not an option. Iran’s Arab neighbors don’t want Iran to have nuclear weapons either because they know that the Iranians will use their military might to intimidate and possibly subjugate them. This is the bottom line. No country on the face of the planet can afford a nuclear Iran so this isn’t just “Israel’s problem.” It’s the civilized world’s problem.
Global leaders have been begging Iran to cease and desist for many years, but to avail. Talk has not and will not work. That’s obvious. Sanctions haven’t worked either because they have not been strong enough. The recent presidential election in Iran taught us an important lesson. The ayatollahs still call all the shots, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not shy about using all types of torture to keep the Iranian people in line—including state sanctioned and “spiritual leader” approved homosexual rape by Iranian security personnel. They make what happened at Abu Ghraib prison look like child’s play.
A nuclear Iran is a threat to the entire world. That much is clear. The unwillingness of the civilized world to deal with Iran proves that fact is stranger than fiction.

Israel and Middle East
“On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind Yahweh, take no rest for yourselves; and give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

Mount of Olives over al Aqsa Mosque on Yahweh’s Temple Mount
- “’Talk about the holocaust and the execution of the Jews contradicts and is against our culture, our principles, our traditions, values, heritage and religion,’ Jamila al-Shanti, a Hamas legislative official, said in a statement distributed Tuesday after a meeting among elected leaders of the radical Islamist group and the head of the Hamas-run Education Ministry in Gaza.”
This is another example of the hijacking of Islam. I knew there had to be an explanation, though. It’s a pathetic, absurd explanation, but it’s an explanation nonetheless. Statements like this would pass for mediocre adolescent humor if they were just kidding, but they’re serious. This gives you a glimpse of what Israel has to contend with every single day. Unfortunately, we treat these people like adults. At what point do we insist that they behave like adults? For the article click here.
