Intelligent People Say and Do Stupid Things
Before I begin, I want to make one thing clear lest I be criticized for calling otherwise intelligent people stupid. An intelligent person can say and do stupid things. For example, if an intelligent man climbs to the top rung on a ladder, reaches out to trim a branch, and falls breaking his arm, he did a stupid thing his intellect notwithstanding.
Yesterday, the Washington Post ran an article titled “The Islamic State likes America’s ‘dumb’ gun laws, defector says”. This is how the article begins:
“Dumb.”
That’s how the Islamic State views America’s lax gun laws, according to one former recruit who traveled to Syria to join the group.
A day or two earlier, I saw Rachel Maddow suggest the same thing on MSNBC. It’s widely reported that Maddow is “the first openly gay anchor to host a major prime-time news program in the United States. She holds a doctorate in politics from Oxford University.”
Choosing to be “gay” is stupid, too, but that’s not the subject of this discussion. I long for the return of the day when depraved and stupid people didn’t flaunt their depravity and stupidity. Way back when, they were smart enough to try to hide their misdeeds.
Let’s apply a little logic. That’s something Maddow and other left-leaning, “progressive” journalists openly refuse to do. They mock supporters of our 2nd Amendment rights and claim that our “lax” gun laws lead to more violent crimes and deaths despite studies proving the exact opposite. They won’t allow facts to interfere with their opinions and strongly held beliefs.
Now to the case in point: ISIS thinks that our “lax” gun laws make their job easier in the U.S. In places like France, for example, where the general population is practically defenseless, ISIS has to take guns to their operatives because by law French citizens can’t acquire them easily.
It’s not that ISIS operatives in France can’t obtain the things they need to carry out their missions. That’s painfully obvious. It’s a matter of how they get them.
In France where private ownership of guns is purposely made difficult by the government, ISIS simply takes illegal weapons to their operatives so they can kill innocent French people who are told by their political leaders to run and hide every time a terrorist attack occurs. Following each attack, we hear the same old mantra: “Never again.”
At some point, intelligent people realize that repeating a worn-out mantra is not a good substitute for intelligent action.
It’s true that U.S. gun laws are less restrictive than French guns laws, but is “lax” the correct way to describe our gun laws? I don’t think so.
People with no previous criminal record can acquire guns in the U.S. and use them to commit crimes, but so can others who use guns legally to defend themselves. It should come as no surprise that terrorist attacks in the U.S. tend to occur in places where people are not allowed to carry concealed weapons. ISIS operatives in the U.S. are not as stupid as people like Rachel Maddow. They know that they are more likely to survive an attack if they do their dirty deeds in places where people are defenseless.
According to Crime Prevention Research Center, “France suffered more casualties (murders and injuries) from mass public shootings in 2015 than the US has suffered during Obama’s entire presidency.” 2016 is shaping up to be an even worse year for France. Their restrictive gun laws are hurting them, not helping them. Our so-called “lax” gun laws are helping us, not hurting us. That’s what the facts show.
Waiting for left-leaning progressives to use logic and draw reasonable conclusions is stupid, too. Electing another left-leaning progressive to be President of the United States is insane because the next president will appoint several members of the Supreme Court. Our 2nd Amendment rights could disappear in an instant if the court shifts further to the left.
I think that most ordinary Americans know what’s at stake. They will not vote for Hillary Clinton because she is openly opposed to our 2nd Amendment rights while she makes up constitutional rights out of thin air—like the one allowing mothers to murder their unborn children. Try finding that in the constitution.
I wonder if it would make any difference to Hillary’s supporters if they knew that she is “gay”, although not openly for political reasons. See “BOMBSHELL: Move Over Bill. Hillary Clinton Has a Sex Scandal of Her Own!”

“He said Hillary had eaten more pussy than he had.”
Hillary’s supporters don’t care one iota what she says and does. They would vote for her no matter what. Anyone who believes Hillary is more rational than Donald Trump is not thinking clearly.
