“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

Yahweh is Drawing His People to Himself

See “Church switches to Saturday Sabbath services”:

The community is invited to participate in the new Sabbath services at St. Luke Church of Opportunity, 126 Brookside Lane, Morganton [North Carolina].

The church switched to Saturday Sabbath services July 7 and no longer offers Sunday services, after the subject of the Sabbath came up one church night by Russell Corpening Sr., trustee chairman of the church, said Aaron Hooper, bishop of the church.

“During our Wednesday night, ‘Let’s Talk Bible,’ brother Corpening asked why we did not observe the holy Sabbath,” Hooper said. “All of us come from a Christian background, and have roots in several other denominations, still were consistently taught ‘We go to church on Sunday.’ During conversations, we came to understand the most common explanation for this was (because) Jesus’ resurrection from the dead was on Sunday. We had not given much thought that Sunday was the first day of the week.”

Church members knew the Ten Commandments and focused specifically on Exodus 20:8-11 (KJV), which reads: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

Getting Back to Basics

When football teams experience problems on the field, their coaches must explain the predicament to reporters. Routinely, they say, “We have to get back to basics.”

In football, getting back to basics means blocking and tackling. If players don’t block, the offense sputters. If players don’t tackle, the opposing team will run up the score. Blocking and tackling are critical to success in football.

Where Yahweh is concerned, getting back to basics means faith and obedience. They are 2 sides of the same coin. You can’t have one without the other.

James explained it perfectly:

But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works. Show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” You believe that there is one Elohim. You do well. The demons also believe, and tremble. But are you willing to recognize, you weak fellow, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected, and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED [YAHWEH], AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS,” [Genesis 15: 6] and he was called the friend of Elohim. You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. (James 2: 18-26)

The Sabbath, Passover, and Christmas

According to Yahweh, the Sabbath Day is not a matter of interpretation or individual preference. It certainly isn’t a matter of church tradition.

Sunday Sabbath didn’t enter the picture until the 300s AD under the reign of Roman Emperor Constantine. He wanted to distance the Catholic Church from Judaism. He did that by changing the Sabbath Day and Passover and by instituting Christmas.

Constantine was not a believer. He worshiped the Sun god, Sol Invictus or Unconquered Sun. Sun worshipers revered Sun Day, the first day of the week. Today we combine the words and call it Sunday.

Romans at that time also revered Ishtar. It’s pronounced “Easter”. She is the Babylonian and Assyrian Fertility goddess. She is also called “the Queen of Heaven”. Constantine dropped Passover and substituted Easter in its place.

See “The Trilogy”.

The Sabbath and Passover are extremely important to Yahweh, but the Sabbath is set apart. It is included in the Ten Commandments. It’s 4th on the list:

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath of Yahweh your Elohim. In it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. For in six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day. Therefore, Yahweh blessed the sabbath day and made it holy. (Exodus 20: 8-11)

Constantine added Christmas to the Catholic Church calendar. Roman Sun worshipers had an annual festival for the birth of the Sun god. It coincided with the winter solstice in December. Constantine declared that the Messiah was born in December and ordered Romans to celebrate His birth during the Sun god festival.

Yahweh commanded us to celebrate the Messiah’s death. That’s the Passover celebration. The Messiah is our atoning sacrifice. He died for our sins:

All of us like sheep have gone astray. Each of us has turned to his own way, but Yahweh has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him…. But Yahweh was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief. If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of Yahweh will prosper in His hand. As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied. By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, as He will bear their iniquities. (Isaiah 53: 6 and 10-11)

The Messiah was actually born in the fall at the time of Sukkot. It’s also called the Feast of Tabernacles or the Feast of Booths. It’s a mandatory feast, but most Christians don’t even know it exists.

For Elohim so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life….He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who does not obey the Son will not see life. The wrath of Elohim abides on him. (John 3: 16 and 36)

The Son’s Name is Yahweh, not Jesus. Obey Yahweh.

Recognizing Saturday Sabbath is a Good Start

The people at St. Luke Church did a good thing when they decided to drop Sunday Sabbath and return to basics. Saturday is the Sabbath Day.

Now, they need to turn their attention to Easter and Christmas. They need to drop both of them, too, and return to the basics of Passover and Sukkot.

Yahweh is drawing His people to Himself. Slowly but surely, they are beginning to examine their behavior and their traditions, and they are abandoning things that are offensive to Yahweh. Other church groups should follow the lead of believers at St. Luke Church.

By the way, the presidential election today is the most hotly contested election in my lifetime. The primary reason is that abortion on demand is teetering on the brink of collapse, because Yahweh’s people are finally standing up. We owe President Trump a debt of gratitude for leading us. He is Yahweh’s man for a time like this.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”

John 17: 22-24
