“Seek Yahweh while He may be found.  Call upon Him while He is near.”

Isaiah 55: 6

Religion is a Terrible Thing

The picture above is Betelgeuse. It’s a massive super-giant star in the constellation Orion. You can read about it by clicking here.

The photo gives you some idea how empty “empty space” is.  It’s not empty at all.

“When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the Son of Man that you care for Him? You have made Him a little lower than Elohim and crowned Him with glory and honor. Yet You have given Him dominion over the works of Your hands. You have put all things under His feet.” (Psalm 8: 3-6)

Yahweh did something else, too. He gave Him, the Messiah, the Name Yahweh:

“For this reason also, Elohim highly exalted Him [Yeshua the Messiah], and bestowed on Him the Name which is above every name [Yahweh], so that at the Name of the Messiah [Yahweh] every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Yeshua the Messiah is Yahweh, to the glory of Elohim the Father.” (Philippians 2: 9-11)

Don’t you wish preachers would do their jobs? I do. How can the fail to recognize the significance of this essential truth. Yahweh stressed the importance of His Name through out the Scriptures, and He did it for a reason.

Religion is a terrible thing.

A Pet Peeve of Mine

The name “Jesus” was made up. The Messiah’s Name was not Jesus.  It was Y’shua.

Y’shua is an Aramaic name.  When the Messiah was born, Y’shua was 1 of the 3 most common names for boys in Israel.  The other 2 most common names for boys in Israel when the Messiah was born were Ya’acov (Jacob or James) and Yohanan (Jonathan or John).

Y’shua, Ya’acov, and Yohanan were like Bill, Bob, and Mike today.  They were everywhere.

Y’shua means “Yahweh saves” or “Yahweh is salvation”.  It points to who He is.

Yehoshua is the Hebrew equivalent of Y’shua.  In English, Yehoshua is translated as Joshua.

If the translation rules used in the Old Testament had been followed in the New Testament, the name Jesus would not appear.  Translators would have used Joshua instead.

This is my pet peeve.  It bothers me when preachers elongate and accentuate the name Jesus.  First, it’s incorrect.  Second and more important, they do it to attract attention. They are not trying to draw attention to Yahweh. They are drawing attention to themselves.  I doubt many of them would admit it, but that’s exactly what they are doing, and Yahweh knows what they are doing.

Yahweh doesn’t need dramatic assistance from anyone.  He knows how to put on a show.  He’s putting on several shows right now all over the world, and most preachers aren’t paying attention.  I guess they are too busy saying “Jeeesus” and “Looord”.  Yahweh doesn’t need or want faux entertainment. If I want some Hollywood glitz, I don’t go to church to get it.

If you call yourself a preacher, stop playing games.  Do your job.

There is power in the Name Yahweh. Do your job, and let Yahweh do His job. All you have to do is tell people about Him by Name.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
