Coronavirus v. Abortions: It’s Not a Joke

See “Pandemic sparks new front in abortion wars”:

The coronavirus pandemic is deepening the divide on abortion access between blue and red states by sparking a debate over whether the procedure is medically essential.

Anti-abortion forces led by Republican governors in Ohio, Texas and Mississippi are citing the critical shortage of medical supplies in trying to close abortion clinics, in some instances threatening jail time if they don’t shut down and donate protective gear and other necessities to local hospitals. Meanwhile, in blue states like New York, Washington and New Jersey, governors are deeming abortion and family planning clinics an essential service that can continue during the pandemic.

The moves come against the backdrop of a wave of tough new abortion laws passed by conservative states in recent years that virtually ban the procedure — which coincides with a broader push to convince the Supreme Court to reevaluate abortion rights. Legislatures in Kentucky and Idaho, for example, are continuing to advance new abortion curbs, even during the pandemic.

The leaders of Ohio, Texas and Mississippi say their orders will help preserve scarce medical gear for hospitals facing a surge of new coronavirus cases. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has characterized the policy as mainly a “deterrent” to encourage people to stay at home and slow the virus’ spread, adding he was not looking to make arrests, while Texas is threatening fines of $1,000 or 180 days in jail for any doctor continuing to perform elective abortions.

Consummate Narcissism on Display

A new front in the war to stop the murdering of innocent, unborn children has emerged. This is the question: Should abortions be considered medical necessities during the coronavirus epidemic?

Governors in Ohio, Texas, and Mississippi say, “No.”

Governors in New York, Washington, and New Jersey say, “Absolutely.”

With hospital space in short supply, choices have to be made and nonessential procedures have to be curtailed or eliminated.

Pro-abortion activists think the “right” to murder unborn children should not be infringed because people who are dying from a deadly disease need the available medical space. They are consummate narcissists: Me, me, me, me, me.

Now we know how depraved pro-abortion activists are.

No one has the right to take a life without due process, and no one should be executed unless he or she has committed a capital offense. Unborn children committed no crimes. They are innocent.

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.  Before you were born, I set you apart….” (Jeremiah 1: 5)

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
