Where is the Democrat outrage now?

President Trump ordered the assassination of a bloodthirsty terrorist who was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans and the maiming of thousands more.  That man was General Hassem Suleimani.  He was commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Quds Force.  He was liquidated while he was on a mission to Baghdad to organize the overthrow of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq and possibly to blow it up.  Along with Suleimani, his second in command was taken out.

Democrats in the House and Senate and every Democrat candidate for president went berserk.  They said that they were “outraged” with President Trump.  They accused him of abuse of power and said that he was recklessly moving the U.S. headlong into a war with Iran for personal political gain.  House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rallied her forces in the House at breakneck speed and passed a nonbinding war powers resolution to limit the president’s power to protect the American people.

Following a feeble attempt at retaliation for Suleimani’s assassination, the Iranian government accidentally shot down a Ukrainian passenger jet with 176 people onboard just after it had taken off from the Tehran airport.  Everyone on the plane died.

That tragic incident inspired Mayor Pete Buttigieg, a rising star in the Democrat Party and a candidate for president, to lay the blame for the downing of the passenger jet on President Trump.  He said, “Innocent civilians are now dead because they were caught in the middle of an unnecessary and unwanted military tit for tat.”

Democrats enthusiastically endorsed Mayor Pete’s perverted view of reality.  His perspective completely ignored Iran’s actions leading up to Suleimani’s assassination.  Those events prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that President Trump acted with restraint for two long years and that he took military action only after Iranians killed an American civilian during one of their many military misadventures.

See the Timeline of Events in “President Trump is Yahweh’s Man for a Time Like This”.

After they shot down the passenger jet, Iranian officials denied any responsibility, rushed to the scene of the crash, recovered the plane’s black box, announced that they would handle an “investigation”, and started hauling off debris with bulldozers and trucks.  For about 24 hours, most of the world bought Iran’s lies.  Then slowly things started to change.  Video evidence of a missile hitting the plane was made public, and satellite evidence confirmed the missile attack.

Yesterday, Iranian officials finally admitted what they had done, but they blamed the United States for their mistake.  According to Iranian officials, “US adventurism” was the root cause of the accident.  That explanation didn’t fly with thinking people around the world, but it was good enough for Democrats in Congress and Democrat candidates for president.  They continue to blame President Trump for Iran’s malign behavior.

Today, global leaders including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are pointing their fingers at Iran as the culprit, expressing their outrage, and demanding justice.  In the days ahead, more global leaders will join the chorus demanding accountability for the mullahs in Iran.  The Iranian people are doing the same thing.  The mullahs are in serious trouble at home and abroad.

Not one Democrat has dared to speak the truth.  Not one Democrat has expressed any outrage at Iranian leaders for their outrageous acts of terror over the last several years.  Instead, Speaker Pelosi is preparing to send articles of impeachment to the Senate this week.

Those articles of impeachment are a partisan political attempt to take down a duly elected president.  They are based on hearsay and innuendo. None of the so-called “evidence” will stand up under cross-examination.  The articles of impeachment are so weak that Pelosi refused to send them over to the Senate for trial until Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell agreed to conduct an investigation in the Senate that should have been conducted in the House.

McConnell refused to comply with the speaker’s unconstitutional demand.  Eventually, Democrat senators demanded that Pelosi stop dragging her feet and do her job.  Begrudgingly, this week she will do what she should have done several weeks ago.

Democrats should be outraged with Iranian leaders and with their own leaders in Congress.  They are not.  They continue to express faux outrage with President Trump for doing the job he was elected to do and for keeping his promises to the American people.

I’m outraged with Democrats in Congress and with Democrat candidates for president.  Slowly but surely, the American people are beginning to express their outrage with Democrats, too.  The presidential election in November 2020 will turn out to be the attitude adjustment that Democrats have been begging for and desperately need.

As a nation, the Democrat Party is the worst enemy we face.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
