Pelosi and Fairness? What fairness?

President Donald Trump on Monday decried House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s call for “fairness” in a Senate trial as both chambers of Congress remain at a stalemate over the next steps in his impeachment.
“Pelosi gives us the most unfair trial in the history of the U.S. Congress, and now she is crying for fairness in the Senate, and breaking all rules while doing so,” Trump tweeted. “She lost Congress once, she will do it again!”
Trump tweeted shortly after Pelosi, D-Calif., posted that the House “cannot choose our impeachment managers until we know what sort of trial the Senate will conduct.”
“President Trump blocked his own witnesses and documents from the House, and from the American people, on phony complaints about the House process,” she twed. “What is his excuse now?”
Pelosi has said she does not intend to transmit the articles over to the Senate until Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., announces the process by which the Senate will conduct the trial.
Fairness? What fairness?
Nancy Pelosi thinks the Senate impeachment trial should be “fair”. She believes Senators should call witnesses to beef up the lousy impeachment case prepared in the House.
The House investigation wasn’t fair. It was a lynch mob that attempted to railroad President Trump.
Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and Jerry Nadler were lazy and dishonest. They didn’t conduct a thorough investigation in the House Intelligence Committee chaired by Schiff, and the House Judiciary Committee chaired by Nadler didn’t call a single fact witness. He called three law professors who shared their opinions. Pelosi was the maestro. She called all the shots. Now, she wants to give orders to the Senate.
Forget about it.
Pelosi plays Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer like a fiddle, but she can’t get away with that kind of nonsense with any Republican Senator, especially Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. President Trump is angry about Pelosi’s game playing. So is McConnell, but he hides his anger well. He quietly rebuffs Pelosi’s overtures, but he makes her look like a fool.
We Need a Republican House
I hope the American people are wise enough to reject Democrats in 2020. If voters elect another Democrat House majority, we will suffer through two more years of impeachment mania with nothing of substance being accomplished.
I would love to see voters in California and New York toss out Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler. They deserve to be shown the door. Other Democrats deserve to be booted out of the House, too, but Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler are the three biggies. They are in safe seats, so I’m not holding my breath.
The rest of the nation can do the job by giving the House back to Republicans. That would strip Democrats of all their power.
Playing Political Games Isn’t Working for the People
Thanks to Democrats playing political games in the House, the people’s work isn’t being done. Democrats need to be crushed at the polls. That’s a message they will understand.
The difference between Democrats and establishment Republicans is slight. Establishment Republicans don’t like President Trump any more than Pelosi does. They need to be taught a lesson, too.
What about Christianity Today?
A few days ago, Christianity Today published an editorial in which it called for President Trump’s removal from office. The editorial was written by Mark Galli the magazine’s editor-in-chief. This is the gist of what Galli said:
“That he should be removed, we believe, is not a matter of partisan loyalties but loyalty to the Creator of the Ten Commandments.”
If Galli were paying attention, he would have observed that the people giving him attention are Yahweh haters. They are also Trump haters. That’s a clue that escaped Galli. It’s like falling into a cesspool and not noticing the smell enveloping you when you crawl out.
Skunks don’t know they stink.
When Donald Trump first announced that he was running for president, I didn’t think he had a chance to win the GOP nomination much less the presidency. It took a few weeks and a lot of prayer for Yahweh to show me what He was up to.
Long before the GOP nominating convention, Yahweh make clear to me that He was putting Donald Trump in office to clean up Washington and to get our nation back on the right path. Yahweh showed me that Donald Trump would become the man He wanted him to be while he was in office, not before he was elected. That’s exactly what has happened.
Regular SnyderTalk readers will recall that I was talking about all of this while the thought of Donald Trump winning the GOP nomination was considered a joke. I’m not the only person that Yahweh showed the truth. There were millions of us. Galli wasn’t one of them.
The fact that millions of strong believers got the message and that Galli didn’t is another clue.
I’m not a newbie in the faith. I’ve met a lot of people like Galli. They are self-righteous Christians. I call them Sister Bertha-better-than-yous. They know the dos and don’ts in the Bible, but they don’t understand Yahweh. It’s possible they don’t know Him.
People like Galli use the Bible like a club. They relish the opportunity to hit people over the head with it as often as they can, and they do it with sanctimonious glee. It makes them feel superior. That’s why I call people like Galli Sister Bertha-better-than-you.
If Galli were a Bible scholar, he would know that David was a philanderer and a murderer, but Yahweh called David a man after His own heart. David isn’t the only imperfect person that Yahweh used in powerful ways. In fact, every person Yahweh chooses to use is imperfect. Galli should read the Bible more carefully.
Problem is, people like Galli think they know everything there is to know. He believes he’s better than you and me and President Trump. He thinks that by virtue of his “righteousness” he’s in a unique position to judge the president.
I wish Galli had taken the time to check his opinions out with Yahweh before he sought the limelight that comes to so-called “Christians” who get into bed Yahweh haters. The fact that he didn’t is another clue.
I’m not the Judge. Yahweh is, but I know this: Getting into bed with Yahweh’s enemies is dangerous. Galli should consider doing some serious praying before he runs his mouth anymore about President Trump. Along the way, he needs to consider repenting.
I wish President Trump was a perfect man. He’s not, but Yahweh chose him and he is doing remarkable things. Galli hasn’t noticed. That’s the final clue.
