“My holy Name I will make known in the midst of My people Israel.  I will not let My holy Name be profaned anymore, and the Gentiles will know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel.”

America Has Serious Problems

See “NYC secretly exports homeless to Hawaii and other states without telling receiving pols”:

New York City generously shares its homeless crisis with every corner of America.

From the tropical shores of Honolulu and Puerto Rico, to the badlands of Utah and backwaters of Louisiana, the Big Apple has sent local homeless families to 373 cities across the country with a full year of rent in their pockets as part of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s “Special One-Time Assistance Program.” Usually, the receiving city knows nothing about it.

City taxpayers have spent $89 million on rent alone since the program’s August 2017 inception to export 5,074 homeless families — 12,482 individuals — to places as close as Newark and as far as the South Pacific, according to Department of Homeless Services data obtained by The Post. Families who once lived in city shelters decamped to 32 states and Puerto Rico.

The city also paid travel expenses, through a separate taxpayer-funded program called Project Reconnect, but would not divulge how much it spent. A Friday flight to Honolulu for four people would cost about $1,400. A bus ticket to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the same family would cost $800.

Add to the tab the cost of furnishings, which the city also did not disclose. One SOTA recipient said she received $1,000 for them.

DHS defends the stratospheric costs, saying it actually saves the city on shelter funding — which amounts to about $41,000 annually per family, as compared to the average yearly rent of $17,563 to house families elsewhere.

It’s a Crime

Katie, Melanie, Rebekah, and I bought 5 lots next to where Katie and I live on Lake Hartwell. We fenced in all of it along with our backyard, so Melanie’s and Rebekah’s dogs can run freely in a large enclosed area when they come to the lake.

A few months ago, Katie and I were taking a walk. As soon as we left our house, we noticed 3 puppies next-door inside our fenced in area. They weren’t newborn pups, but they weren’t very old, either. They were standing at the gate facing the street and barking.

When the pups saw Katie and me, they ran toward us. We opened the gate to let them out, and they went wild with excitement. Their owner had brought them to our property and abandoned them. The dogs wanted to attach to Katie and me immediately.

A deputy from the Anderson County Sheriff’s office came to get the pups. He told us that he would take them to the animal shelter. They were great looking dogs. I suspect they found homes very quickly.

The deputy told us that that kind of thing happens all the time in rural Anderson County South Carolina and that it’s a crime.

That’s exactly what the people of NYC are doing to cities across America. They are exporting their unwanted human beings to other cities that are far enough away to prevent the wretched thousands from returning, and they aren’t bothering to warn the people upon whom they are dumping their destitute masses.

That’s a crime.  It’s being perpetrated by “liberal progressives” in NYC.  They don’t have a problem with their despicable behavior.

The people of New York should be ashamed, and they should be charged with the crimes they are committing.

“Liberal Progressive” States and Cities are the Worst

According to a 2018 report, we have 552,830 homeless people in America.  That’s  17 out of every 10,000 people in our country.

New York

With about 92,000 homeless citizens, New York has the worst homelessness problem in the country per capita. That’s 46 out of every 10,000 New Yorkers.

Oregon

Oregon is second with about 15,000 homeless.  That’s 35 out of every 10,000 Oregonians.

California

Next is California with about 130,000 homeless.  That’s 33 out of every 10,000 Californians.

Washington State

Washington state is 4th.  It has more than 22,000 homeless. That’s 30 out of every 10,000 Washingtonians.

America Has Serious Problems

Homelessness is only part of our problem.  It’s the most visible part.

America is a rich nation.  New York, California, Oregon, and Washington are rich states.  Even so, our nation is experiencing a rapidly growing homelessness problem, and the worst hit states and cities are the most “liberal progressive”.  See “West Coast States Have Highest Rates of Homelessness”.

Along with homelessness comes rampant crime, drug addiction, rapidly spreading deadly diseases, and rodent infestations.  We have done it to ourselves.  See “How California became the capital of homelessness”.

Homelessness is not on the rise because jobs are unavailable.  The unemployment rate in the U.S. is the lowest it has been in more than 50 years.  There are more unfilled jobs in America than there are unemployed people. See “U.S. Unemployment Rate Falls to 50-Year Low”.

Homelessness is not on the rise because we don’t provide enough welfare assistance.  As a nation, we spend a fortune on welfare at the federal and state levels.  See “CRS Report: Welfare Spending The Largest Item In The Federal Budget” and “State and Local Finance Initiative”.

Homelessness is not on the rise because housing costs are too high.  The homeless of America aren’t looking for jobs or affordable housing.  Most of them are looking for handouts and want to be left alone wherever they choose to lay their weary heads.  See “Why would a homeless person not want to go to a shelter?

Hold People Accountable

The solution to our homelessness problem is not to export homeless people from one community to another. The solution is to hold people accountable where they are.

Years ago, we dumped the mentally ill on the streets of America.  That was a mistake.  See “Should the U.S. Bring Back Psychiatric Asylums?”.

Now, we are dumping prison populations on the streets.  That will prove to be a mistake, too.  See “Nearly 500 Prisoners Freed on a Single Day”.

Those are kneejerk solutions.  We need serious solutions that have a chance of working.  Dumping our problems on the streets or exporting them to distant places is not the answer.

Truly mentally ill men and women should be institutionalized.  Expecting them to fend for themselves on the streets is not the solution. They put all of us in danger, especially themselves.

Hardened criminals should be incarcerated.  Pretending that setting hardened criminals free is the right solution is ridiculous.  Prisons play a legitimate role in civilized society.  See “So far, prison inmate rehab isn’t working”.

Able-bodied men and women should be required to work.  It’s not right and it’s not fair for hardworking Americans to pay for the upkeep of others who should be providing for themselves.

As the apostle Paul said, “If anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10)

Holding people accountable is not heartless.  It’s compassionate and smart.  “Liberal progressives” are neither compassionate nor smart.

We Need National Repentance

We have tried everything but the right thing.

We have done our best to remove Yahweh from public life in America.  We have banned Him from our public schools.  We have punished churches that adhere to His commands because they refuse to accept the gross immorality that lawmakers in America want to mainstream in our society.

There are consequences for abandoning Yahweh.  We are experiencing some of them right now.

People are beginning to wonder if things can get any worse. The answer is yes! Things can get a lot worse, and things will get a lot worse if we continue down the path that we are own.

We need national repentance.  To repent means to admit that we have done wrong and to change our ways.  Only then can we expect Yahweh to bless our nation.

This is how Yahweh explained it:

“If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
