“My holy Name I will make known in the midst of My people Israel.  I will not let My holy Name be profaned anymore, and the Gentiles will know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel.”

Ezekiel 39: 7

Yahweh, the Messiah, and Sukkot

Yahweh

Please watch this short video.  It’s less than 3 minutes long:

Yahweh (יהוה) is Elohim’s covenant Name. It speaks of His personal relationship with His people. It speaks of a loving Father who is always available to His children.

Think of Yahweh as a family Name. You can see evidence of this in the Bible when Yahweh told Moses to make a gold head dressing for his brother Aaron to wear when he was officiating in the Tabernacle as high priest.  Below is Yahweh’s description of that head dressing:

“You shall also make a plate of pure gold and shall engrave on it, like the engravings of a seal, ‘Holy to Yahweh.’ You shall fasten it on a blue cord, and it shall be on the turban; it shall be at the front of the turban. It shall be on Aaron’s forehead, and Aaron shall take away the iniquity of the holy things which the sons of Israel consecrate, with regard to all their holy gifts; and it shall always be on his forehead, that they may be accepted before Yahweh.” (Exodus 28: 36-38)

Yahweh’s Name on Aaron’s forehead made him acceptable to Yahweh.  It identified Aaron and the Children of Israel that he represented as belonging to Yahweh.

You can see more evidence in Revelation:

  • “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My Elohim, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the Name of My Elohim, and the name of the city of My Elohim, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My Elohim, and My new Name.” (Revelation 3: 12)
  • “Then I looked, and behold, the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Name and the Name of His Father written on their foreheads.” (Revelation 14: 1)
  • “Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of Elohim and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of Elohim and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him; they will see His face, and His Name will be on their foreheads. (Revelation 22: 1-4)

The Name Yahweh is written on believers’ foreheads.  They belong to Him, and He belongs to them.  They are family.  In one sense, it’s like a wedding ring symbolizing a permanent bond between Yahweh and His people. They are one.  I developed this depiction to show that relationship:

El Shaddai (אל שדאי) is the Name that Yahweh uses most often when He is dealing with people who don’t know Him, people who are not part of the family. It speaks of the distant and powerful El (אל) of heaven.

El Shaddai is the El to be feared.  When Yahweh returns as the Lion of Judah, the nations will see Him as El Shaddai.

Yahweh Tells Moses His Name

In Exodus 3: 10-15, Yahweh told Moses His Name:

“Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.”

But Moses said to Elohim, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?”

And He said, “Certainly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you. When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship Elohim at this mountain.”

Then Moses said to Elohim, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The Elohim of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?”

Elohim said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM” [אני מי שאני]; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM [אני] has sent me to you.’”

Elohim, furthermore, said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘Yahweh [יהוה], the Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me to you.’  This [Yahweh] is My Name forever, the Name you shall call Me from generation to generation.” (Exodus 3: 10-15)

“This mountain” mentioned in Exodus 3: 12 is Mount Sinai in Midian. Ancient Midian is called Saudi Arabia to today. Today, Mount Sinai is called Jabal al-Lawz.  Locals call it the Mountain of Moses. Literally, it means Mountain of Almonds. It’s still there, scorched top and all.

Below are 2 pictures of Jabal al-Lawz.  The first one is a Google Earth image from above. The second one is a view facing the mountain.  That’s where Yahweh was speaking with Moses:

“From generation to generation” mentioned in Exodus 3: 15 means “forever”. Yahweh is Elohim’s personal Name forever.  That means Yahweh is the Name Elohim wants us to call Him today.

Elohim (אלוהים) is a plural word. Genesis 1: 1 is the first time Elohim appears in the Bible:

“In the beginning Elohim (אלוהים) created the heavens and the earth.”

Yahweh is One

Deuteronomy 6: 4 is called The Shema.  It says, “Hear, O Israel! Yahweh is our Elohim, Yahweh is One!”

In Hebrew, this is how Deuteronomy 6: 4 reads: “Shema Yisrael. Yahweh Eloheinu, Yahweh Echad!”

Eloheinu means “is our Elohim”.

According to the Messiah, Deuteronomy 6: 4 is the most important verse in the Bible:

Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”

The Messiah answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, Yahweh (is) our Elohim, Yahweh is One. And you shall love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12: 28-31)

Elohim is a Plural Word

Yahweh our Elohim is One, and Elohim is plural. Yahweh was sending us a message, and it started in Genesis 1: 1, the first verse in the Bible.

Elohim (plural) is the Creator Elohim. Yahweh is the Creator Elohim’s personal Name.  That’s what Yahweh told Moses, and that’s what Yahweh told Moses to tell us.

The Messiah

Now, look at John 1: 1-5 and 14:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. He was in the beginning with Elohim. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it….And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

The Messiah is “the Word” (i.e., the Word of Yahweh).  He is also the Creator Elohim.  For details on the Word being Yahweh, see His Name is Yahweh: Revised Edition.

In Jeremiah 23: 5-6, Yahweh tells us plainly that the Messiah’s Name is Yahweh:

“Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch. He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. This is His Name by which He will be called, ‘Yahweh our righteousness.’”

Sukkot

The Greek word translated as “dwelt” in John 1: 14 is “eskēnōsen”. Literally, it means to dwell in a tent or to tabernacle.

Right now, we are in the Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot. The Messiah’s birthday is the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles. It is not December 25th. That’s the day Romans celebrated the birth of the sun god. You can thank Constantine for that sacrilege.

The Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkot, is the celebration of the Messiah’s birth, Yahweh coming in Person to dwell with and among His people. Passover, Pesach, is the celebration of the Messiah’s death for the forgiveness of our sins.

Pesach is not Easter.  Easter is a celebration for the Babylonian fertility goddess Ishtar, pronounced Easter. You can thank Constantine for that sacrilege, too.

For what it’s worth, Constantine was not a believer.  He was a Roman emperor using religion for political purposes.  See The Trilogy.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
