Paul Manafort Should Spend the Rest of His Life in Prison
- The special counsel Robert Mueller’s office called Paul Manafort a “bold” and “hardened” criminal who “repeatedly and brazenly violated the law” in a sentencing memo that was partially unsealed on Saturday.
- Manafort’s conduct “reflects a hardened adherence to committing crimes and lack of remorse,” prosecutors wrote.
- They did not make a specific sentencing recommendation in Manafort’s case but noted that federal sentencing guidelines call for a prison term of 17 to 22 years for the crimes Manafort has been convicted of.
- The memo comes after a federal judge voided Manafort’s plea deal with Mueller when prosecutors found that he lied to them about several interactions related to the Russia investigation.
Paul Manafort Deserves to Die in Jail
Paul Manafort is exactly what special counsel Robert Mueller said he is. Mueller’s sentencing memorandum left no room for doubt about his conclusion regarding Manafort. He should die in jail.
Manafort isn’t the only person who should spend the rest of his life in prison. So should Andy McCabe, Jim Comey, Rod Rosenstein, Peter Strzok, and Lisa Page.
They aren’t the only ones, either. Yahweh has sent John McCain to his eternal destiny already. Prison time is out for him, but several former elected officials and political appointees should join them. I’ll list a few that I am confident about:
- Eric Holder
- Loretta Lynch
- Susan Rice
- Hillary Clinton
- Barack Obama
They were as much a part of the coup attempt as anyone. I can make a strong argument that they were the ringleaders. Their crimes make Manafort’s offences look like jaywalking.
What About Robert Mueller?
Robert Mueller’s credibility is on the line. Either he is an honest person or he isn’t. Either he can be trusted or he can’t.
Since Mueller’s investigation was supposed to be about “Russia collusion” and crimes related to it, his effort should have produced substantial evidence that Obama and his colleagues did what they accused President Trump of doing and much worse. They brazenly spearheaded a failed coup attempt.
For the record, none of the crimes that Mueller said Manafort committed are related to “Russia collusion”.
If Mueller’s final report doesn’t address the crimes committed by Andy McCabe, Jim Comey, Rod Rosenstein, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama to name just a few, he will lose all credibility in my book. I will conclude that he really was on a “witch hunt” as President Trump has been saying all along.
More than Anything Else, We Need Justice
When leaders in the U.S. government break the law for personal and political gain, all of us are in trouble. They are no better than the cabal that Adolf Hitler put in place in Nazi Germany. They are peas in a pod.
If Mueller’s final report doesn’t address these issues, he should become a target of the next special counsel investigation. He, too, may need to spend time in prison.
