The Consequence of PPJ

See “Trump’s New Embrace of Turkish President Erdogan Decried by Top US Jewish Leaders”.

I wish U.S. Jewish leaders had used better judgment when they took advantage of every opportunity to criticize President Trump as publicly as possible. More than any other group, they are notorious for attacking the president.  No matter what he does, they always have something negative and pithy to say about him.

When I say “pithy”, I mean snappy but shallow. It’s the kind of thing that I expect from CNN reporters—all heat and no light. It’s the quality of thinking that college freshmen are known for.

I hesitate to use the word “judgment”.  U.S. Jewish leaders have exercised what I call PPJ—piss-poor judgment.

Take the border wall, for instance.  Border security is as basic as it gets.   Without it, all of us are in danger.  Just ask Israeli leaders.

President Trump is doing the job that we elected him to do, but U.S. Jewish leaders were lying in wait for him.  See “U.S. Jewish Leaders United in Condemnation of Trump’s Anti-immigration Push”.

President Trump isn’t “anti-immigration”.  He’s anti-illegal immigration.  The difference between the two is completely lost on most U.S. Jewish leaders.  That speaks volumes about their PPJ.

At this point, President Trump must see U.S. Jewish leaders as clanging cymbals—no melody, no harmony, just noise. That’s a result of their PPJ.

It’s Not Just U.S. Jewish Leaders

I’ve talked with lots of U.S. Jews about President Trump. Routinely, they relish the opportunity to fly into an over-the-top, hate-filled rage at the sound of his name regardless of the topic of conversation. They must think it makes them sound smart or sophisticated or something.  Candidly, the ones I’ve talked with simply parrot talking points.  That’s neither smart nor sophisticated.

It’s all show and no substance, grandstanding.  Their thinking is the quality of thinking that I have come to expect from people like Jimmy Kimmel.  The effect they have on me is the opposite of what they hope to achieve, and I’m favorably disposed toward them.

U.S. Jews, leaders of Jewish groups and ordinary Jewish people, are responsible for desensitizing the president to anything they have to say. Thankfully, Yahweh has a grip on President Trump. The president is learning to be responsive to Him.

It’s ironic.  President Trump is getting to know personally the One whose Name most U.S. Jews refuse to say even though He commanded us to declare His Name to the world. I look forward to the day when President Trump uses the Name “Yahweh” in the White House on television.

Erdoğan is a Problem

I have serious concerns about Erdoğan, too. I think he’s a snake in the grass. He’s definitely anti-Israel. Israeli Jews have every right to be concerned about the latest development.

Maybe Prime Minister Netanyahu should consider apologizing for his decision to punish Tzipi Hotovely for telling U.S. Jews things that they desperately need to hear. See “In apparent punishment, Hotovely grounded after insulting US Jews”.

Hotovely didn’t insult U.S. Jews.  She told them the truth.  The truth insulted them.  Sometimes, the truth hurts.

If U.S. Jews as a group would stop pretending that they have a monopoly on wisdom, it would be a big help. Saying that they have overplayed their hand is being too kind.

To me, most U.S. Jews sound deluded. If you are delusional and the only people you talk with are delusional, too, you think you are normal. As they say, this isn’t rocket science.

Consider Consequences

People who think they can do whatever they want with impunity are in for a rude awakening. At this point, President Trump doesn’t think twice about ignoring most U.S. Jews be they Jewish leaders or ordinary Jewish people. He has effectively tuned them out.  It’s a defensive mechanism.  I suppose it doesn’t matter…unless they need the president’s help.

You can argue that U.S. Jews didn’t know they were creating a negative effect. That’s fair, but if it’s true, it shows that they aren’t half as smart as they think they are. Try telling them that and watch their reactions.

The Good News

President Trump is far more pro-Israel than most U.S. Jewish leaders and most ordinary U.S. Jewish people.  Many of them question the legitimacy of the State of Israel.  That has never entered the president’s mind.  It’s too preposterous.

Despite U.S. Jewish leaders and ordinary Jewish people in the U.S., President Trump will be there for Israel when Israel needs him.  The Israeli people can thank Yahweh for that.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
