Ford deserves to be heard.  She deserves to go to jail if she lies.

See “Kavanaugh hearing once again in question as Christine Ford raises new concerns”:

An attorney for the woman who accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her decades ago has raised fresh concerns about the format for Thursday’s highly anticipated hearing with her and the Supreme Court nominee.

The letter raising those issues once again could throw into doubt the scheduled hearing, which has been the subject of ever-changing negotiations since Christine Blasey Ford first went public.

In the message, sent to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley late Monday and obtained by Fox News, her attorney took issue with apparent plans for an outside counsel to ask questions — as well as fiery comments made by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., accusing Democrats of a “smear campaign.”

It Looks Like a “Smear Campaign” to Me

I don’t think Ford will take the oath and testify on Thursday. I hope she does, though, and I hope the senators take her oath seriously.

They won’t.  Ford is putting nothing at risk except her reputation among decent people.  But Ford is a Democrat.  What decent people think doesn’t matter to her.  Her stock will go up with Democrats.

Maybe Ford will wear her “Pink Pussy” hat to the hearing.  Democrat senators would love that.

The way this sordid affair has been handled by Democrats makes it look like a made for TV publicity stunt/circus.  Ford is the star of the show. Her attorney is the barker. Democrat senators are the clowns.

We’ve seen it before.  It’s the Democrat modus operandi. Justice Clarence Thomas knows how this game is played.  He called it a public lynching when he was being confirmed.

Justice Thomas is right.  It is a public lynching.

Senator Chuck Grassley has bent over backwards to accommodate Christine Ford’s wishes.  The most recent objection to the hearing format raised by Ford’s lawyers has to do with the fact that Republicans on the Judiciary Committee hired a female attorney with experience prosecuting sex crimes to ask the questions.  Ironically, Ford’s lawyers think the male senators on the committee should ask the questions even though they criticized the fact that they are males.

Calling the hearing a publicity stunt/circus, isn’t an exaggeration.

All of the bizarre goings-on make Ford’s accusation that Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her look like a wild claim by a lunatic who desperately wants to stop his confirmation to the Supreme Court by the Senate.  I think that’s exactly what it is.

Ford’s focus on gender is laughable.  She is willing to torture Brett Kavanaugh’s wife and two daughters to protect a woman’s “right” to murder her defenseless, unborn children. In the Democrat scheme of things, the Kavanaugh women are collateral damage.

See “Judge Brett Kavanaugh and His Wife Receive Multiple Death Threats, U.S. Marshals Now Investigating”.  That’s the Democrat Party I know.

I think Ford and her attorneys expected Kavanaugh to fold under pressure and President Trump to withdraw his nomination. If that had happened, Ford wouldn’t need to testify.

They made a big mistake. Donald Trump isn’t a lightweight, and neither is Brett Kavanaugh.  The hearing is moving ahead, and Senator Mitch McConnell is scheduling a vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation in the Senate.  That’s what makes me think Ford will refuse to testify at the last minute.

Ford’s Story is Full of Holes

See “Eight big problems for Christine Blasey Ford’s story” by Paul Sperry:

1) For starters, Ford still can’t recall basic details of what she says was the most traumatic event in her life. Not where the “assault” took place — she’s not sure whose house it was, or even what street it was on. Nor when — she’s not even sure of the year, let alone the day and month.

Ford’s not certain how old she was or what grade she was in when she says an older student violently molested her. (But she doesn’t plead inebriation: She described having just “one beer” at the party.)

2) Ford concedes she told no one what happened to her at the time, not even her best friend or mother. That means she can rely on no contemporaneous witness to corroborate her story.

3) Worse, the four other people she identified as attending the party, including Kavanaugh, all deny knowledge of the gathering in question, including Leland Ingham Keyser, who she calls a “lifelong friend.”

Keyser’s lawyer told the Senate Judiciary Committee: “Simply put, Ms. Keyser does not know Mr. Kavanaugh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with or without Dr. Ford.”

The other two potential witnesses — Mark Judge and Patrick “P.J.” Smyth — also deny any recollection of attending such a party. The committee took their sworn statements “under penalty of perjury.” “These witnesses directly contradict Professor Ford’s allegations against Judge Kavanaugh,” Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley advised Ford’s attorneys last week.

In her original letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Ford claimed that Kavanaugh talked to Keyser and Smyth right after he assaulted her. Yet neither shares her memory.

This is, to say the least, highly problematic for her case. No witness corroborates any part of her story.

4) Her own immediate family doesn’t appear to be backing her up, either. Her mother, father and two siblings are all conspicuously absent from a letter of support released by a dozen relatives, mostly on her husband’s side of the family.

The letter attests to her honesty and integrity. “Why didn’t her parents and brothers sign the letter?” a congressional source familiar with the investigation wondered.

5) This summer, Ford tried to reach out to old friends from high school and college to jog her memory. They couldn’t help her. “I’ve been trying to forget this all my life, and now I’m supposed to remember every little detail,” Ford complained to one friend in July, according to an account in The San Jose Mercury News.

6) Yet she still pushed forward with her bombshell charge, contacting The Washington Post tip line and Democratic lawmakers, while hiring a Democratic activist lawyer. Ford is also a Democrat, as well as an anti-Trump marcher, raising questions about the motive and timing of the allegations along with their veracity.

7) Ford contends that notes her therapist took in 2012 corroborate her account. But they don’t mention Kavanaugh.

They also point up inconsistencies in her story. For instance, her shrink noted that Ford told her there were “four boys” in the bedroom, not two as she now says. The notes also indicate Ford said she was in her “late teens” when she was assaulted. But Ford now says she may have been only 15.

8) In another inconsistency, Ford told The Washington Post she was upset when Trump won in 2016, because Kavanaugh was mentioned as a Supreme Court pick. But Kavanaugh wasn’t added to Trump’s list of possibles until November 2017, a full year later.

Ford has a lot to Fear

After her 11th hour bombshell accusation, the nation deserves to hear from Christine Blasey Ford.  She deserves to go to jail if she lies.

Given the holes in her story, Ford has some serious explaining to do.  “I am a woman” won’t be a persuasive argument.

I wish Democrat senators on the Judiciary Committee had to testify under oath about their roles in this affair.  Ford’s story stinks to high heaven, and they pimped it to the public.

I’m not naïve.  Ford won’t go to jail no matter what she says to the senators, and senators won’t be confronted about the roles they played.  That’s the nature of the Senate.

Yahweh doesn’t play by Senate rules.  He holds people accountable.  If Ford is lying, her day is coming.  Democrat senators who were complicit in the affair are in trouble, too.

One thought keeps reverberating in my mind.  Over the decades, our country has become so callous that extreme measures are needed just to get our attention.  Thanks to Christine Blasey Ford, most of us are awake now.

I hope decent people understand that the depraved among us are energized.  If we take anything for granted at this point, we will be making a huge mistake.

Remember: Killing Dracula required driving a wooden stake through his heart.  The day when half-measures might have worked has long since passed.

SnyderTalk Comment:

“I am a woman” is not a defense.  Some women lie.

This is a True Story

At the University of Virginia, a group of women faculty decided that male faculty members who have sex with female undergraduates should be asked to leave.  They expected enthusiastic support from female students.

There was an immediate response, but it wasn’t what the women faculty wanted.

Female undergraduates told the women faculty that they would have sex with anyone they wanted.

The university adopted a rule that prohibited male faculty from having sex with female undergraduates taking their classes.

Things aren’t always what they appear to be.
