The Department of Justice Needs a Complete Overhaul
The Department of Justice is out of control. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is out of his league. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein doesn’t understand who is in charge of the executive branch of government, and he doesn’t understand the legitimate powers of Congress.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein pushed back against his House Republican critics on Tuesday, warning that the Justice Department is “not going to be extorted” amid threats that he could be impeached.
“There have been people who have been making threats privately and publicly against me for quite some time, and I think they should understand by now the Department of Justice is not going to be extorted,” Rosenstein said at an event at the Newseum in Washington.
Rosenstein was asked to respond to a Washington Post report Monday that Rep. Mark Meadows of North Carolina and other members of the House Freedom Caucus have drafted articles of impeachment against him. The deputy attorney general brushed off the threat to his job.
“I just don’t have anything to say about documents like that that nobody has the courage to put their name on and that they leak in that way,” he said.
Behind the Scene
Members of Congress have asked the DOJ to provide documents so they can perform their duties. That’s called “oversight”. That’s what Congress is supposed to do. The documents in question have been subpoenaed. Still, Rosenstein refuses to turn the documents over to Congress.

Because Rosenstein is dragging his feet again, members of Congress have threatened to impeach him. That’s something Congress can do. In Rosenstein’s case, I think that’s something Congress should do.
In response to the threat of impeachment, Rosenstein said that he will not be “extorted”. It’s not extortion. It’s not even close to extortion. It’s an example of Congress doing its job.
Russia Collusion
This whole thing started when Jeff Sessions recused himself and appointed a special counsel to investigate Russia collusion.
After almost a year, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has found no evidence of Russia collusion on President Trump’s part. There is ample evidence of Russia collusion on Hillary Clinton’s part. There is also lots of evidence that members of the DOJ and FBI colluded to prevent Donald Trump from being elected, and after he won, they colluded to destroy his presidency.
Mueller knows all of that, but he has ignored every crime committed by “liberal progressives” including Hillary Clinton, Andy McCabe, James Comey, Loretta Lynch, James Clapper, John Brennan, Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett, and Barack Obama to name just a few. It’s possible that Mueller was part of the criminal conspiracy, too. We won’t know until the DOJ does its job.
The DOJ Needs an Overhaul
Enough is enough. By now, it should be obvious to everyone in the country except “liberal progressives” that the DOJ is out of control.
The reason it’s not obvious to “liberal progressives” is that they stand to lose a lot if the DOJ delivers real justice. They are trying to protect themselves, and they are using the DOJ to do their dirty work.
Jeff Sessions should be fired, and a competent person should be nominated to replace him.
Rob Rosenstein should be fired immediately. Let the next AG fill the vacant spot.
We need a special counsel to investigate Robert Mueller. If he isn’t part of this conspiracy, I will be shocked.
Trey Gowdy says that Mueller is a good man. Maybe he is. If he is, he has nothing to fear from an investigation.
