NPR—Erdogan Calls Snap Elections in Turkey, and State of Emergency Is Extended:

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called new presidential and parliamentary elections for June 24, more than a year earlier than scheduled. The change announced Wednesday by Erdogan speeds the implementation of the constitutional changes approved last year, which will give the president broad new powers upon completion of the next national election.

Just hours after Erdogan’s televised address Wednesday, Turkish lawmakers voted to extend the country’s state of emergency through July — the seventh such extension since Ankara first implemented it after an attempted coup in July 2016.

Speaking at the presidential palace in Ankara before the parliamentary vote, Erdogan told the country that, with political uncertainty rampant in the region, there was simply no time to lose in scheduling new elections.

“Even though the president and government are working in unison, the diseases of the old system confront us at every step we take,” Erdogan said, as translated by The Guardian. “Developments in Syria and elsewhere have made it urgent to switch to the new executive system in order to take steps for our country’s future in a stronger way.”

Turkey launched a military operation in northwest Syria earlier this year, aimed at dislodging Kurdish fighters from the region just across the Turkish border. Ankara views the People’s Protection Units, or YPG, a Kurdish militia operating in that area, as a terrorist group allied with Kurdish separatists inside its own borders — and just last month, the Turkish military seized the Syrian city of Afrin from the Kurds.

As NPR‘s Peter Kenyon noted at the time, Erdogan has been riding a wave of domestic support for the operation, which “has analysts concluding that Erdogan’s political support is on the rise.”

SnyderTalk Comment:

Turkey really does have a state of emergency, and it’s self-imposed.  Putting President Erdogan in power is the emergency.  It will prevail as long as he is in office.

Watch the video below.  I urge any American who is thinking about visiting Turkey not to go there as along as Erdogan is in power.  I can’t stress that enough.  Don’t even board a flight that has a stopover in Turkey.  You may be yanked off the plane.

If you go to Turkey, you may be arrested, charged with spying or something else, and sent to prison as a bargaining chip.  If that appeals to you, then by all means ignore my advice.  You might make it back unscathed, but you might not.

Whatever you decide to do, you have been warned.  You can’t say, “I didn’t know.”

Turkey is a beautiful country.  The 7 churches mentioned in Revelation are in Turkey, all of them.  The roots of what we call Christianity run deep in Turkey.

That said, true Christianity isn’t a religion.  I know how peculiar that sounds to most people who call themselves “Christians”, but it’s true.  Even learned preachers have a hard time adjusting to that reality because of tradition.

True Christianity is identical to true Judaism.  Both of them should be called the Faith of Abraham.  It’s not about church or synagogue, and it’s certainly not about religion.  It’s about faith that has legs.  It’s the same faith that Abraham had.  For details, see The Trilogy.

We are living in a time when Yahweh is opening the eyes of believers so we can see that many of the things we have been taught are blatantly false.  For example, simply knowing and declaring Yahweh’s Name can raise the eyebrows of churchgoers even though Yahweh commanded us to know and declare His Name.

Typical churchgoers don’t know Yahweh has a Name, and many of those who know it are afraid to say His Name because they don’t want to stand out in the crowd.  They call him “God” or “Lord” since that’s what preachers and most churchgoers call Him.  They don’t know that the Messiah is Yahweh, either.

If you know Yahweh’s Name, declare it.

Most preachers have failed to deliver Yahweh’s message correctly.  They are in love with traditions that are disgraceful.  Some of them are satanic.  Christmas and Easter are good examples of demonic traditions that churchgoers cherish.

Tell that to your churchgoer friends and see how they respond.  Most of them will look at you like you are a skunk at a garden party.  They have no idea where the smell is coming from.  You can rest assured that Yahweh can detect the source of the stink.

If you are a casual churchgoer or an occasional pew-warmer, you don’t have any idea what I’m talking about.  If you know Yahweh’s word and question what I’ve said, you don’t know Yahweh’s word as well as you think you do because I’m simply explaining what He said.

I have more to say, but I’ll stop.  I’ve already said enough to infuriate you or rouse your curiosity.  Whatever the case may be, do yourself a favor and avoid Turkey for the time being.

Dictators don’t last forever, and Islamist dictators have real trouble holding onto power.  At some point, the Turkish people will have had their fill of Erdogan.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
