Erdoğan’s Vision to Destroy Israel

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is Turkey’s president.  His manic obsession with Israel has been evident to me for about a decade.

Several years ago, I warned SnyderTalk readers that under Erdoğan’s leadership, Turkey had become one of the TRIC nations.  They include Turkey, Russia, Iran, and China.  I expect these 4 countries to play significant roles in a coordinated effort to destroy Israel.

Any doubts I harbored about Erdoğan’s sinister fixation on Israel were removed when he orchestrated the MV Mavi Marmara incident in May 2010.  It was a flotilla consisting of 6 ships.  Erdoğan dubbed them the “Gaza Freedom Flotilla”.

Supposedly, the ships were carrying humanitarian relief supplies to Gaza, but they were also carrying weapons and electronic equipment.  Erdoğan staged the MV Mavi Marmara incident to capture global media attention, because it necessitated the 6 ships running Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza.

Israeli commandos from speedboats and helicopters boarded the ships in an effort to force the flotilla to dock in Ashdod Port so that their cargos could be inspected.  On the MV Mavi Marmara, the commandos encountered stiff resistance.  Nine people were killed.  Eight of them were Turkish nationals.  One was a Turkish American.

The video below provides a detailed explanation of the events that transpired before and during the MV Mavi Marmara incident:

As the three articles below suggest, Erdoğan accomplished his objective.  Thanks to the MV Mavi Marmara incident, he was able to portray himself to the world as a beneficent leader coming to the aid of impoverished Gazans.  To the Muslim world, it portrayed him as a modern-day Saladin attempting to rid the Middle East of “Zionist occupiers”.

Fethullah Gülen

Fethullah Gülen is an Islamic scholar, preacher and social advocate with a net worth of about $25 billion.  He founded the Gülen movement in Turkey.  It’s also known as Hizmet.  It’s an undertaking in Turkey involving 3 to 6 million people who are concerned about Turkey’s future and Islam in the modern world.

Gülen has lived in exile in the United States for almost 20 years.  He was aligned closely with Erdoğan until the MV Mavi Marmara incident in 2010.  Following the incident, a brouhaha erupted between them, and Erdoğan accused Gülen of being in cahoots with Israel.

Erdoğan said, “What was he [Gülen] saying? ‘They didn’t get permission from authority’. Who is authority? Is it the ones they love in the South or us? If we are the authority, then we have already given permission. But [the authority] is Israel for them.”

Gülen’s and Erdoğan’s working relationship came to an abrupt halt following the 2013 corruption investigations in Turkey.  They were designed to remove Erdoğan from power.

Erdoğan blamed Gülen for the 2016 coup attempt in Turkey and demanded his extradition so that he could be tried in Turkey.  Erdoğan’s demand has been ignored, and Gülen’s presence in the United States remains a major sticking point between the United States and Turkey.

In 2017, Gülen wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post titled “The Turkey I no longer know”.  Publication of the op-ed coincided with a meeting in the White House between presidents Trump and Erdoğan.  Below is an excerpt from Gülen’s op-ed:

As the presidents of the United States and Turkey meet at the White House on Tuesday, the leader of the country I have called home for almost two decades comes face to face with the leader of my homeland. The two countries have a lot at stake, including the fight against the Islamic State, the future of Syria and the refugee crisis.

But the Turkey that I once knew as a hope-inspiring country on its way to consolidating its democracy and a moderate form of secularism has become the dominion of a president who is doing everything he can to amass power and subjugate dissent.

[…]

As the coup attempt unfolded, I fiercely denounced it and denied any involvement. Furthermore, I said that anyone who participated in the putsch betrayed my ideals. Nevertheless, and without evidence, Erdogan immediately accused me of orchestrating it from 5,000 miles away.

The next day, the government produced lists of thousands of individuals whom they tied to Hizmet — for opening a bank account, teaching at a school or reporting for a newspaper — and treated such an affiliation as a crime and began destroying their lives. The lists included people who had been dead for months and people who had been serving at NATO’s European headquarters at the time. International watchdogs have reported numerous abductions, in addition to torture and deaths in detention. The government pursued innocent people outside Turkey, pressuring Malaysia, for instance, to deport three Hizmet sympathizers last week, including a school principal who has lived there for more than a decade, to face certain imprisonment and likely torture.

These are the points I want to make:

  1. In Turkey, there are two competing views about what the state should be and how it should be governed. Gülen and Erdoğan lead the opposing sides, and Erdoğan is winning.
  2. Erdoğan sees Israel as the enemy. He is using Israel to advance his political agenda at home and abroad.
  3. President Trump stands between Erdoğan and the accomplishment of his goals. Yahweh chose Trump to be President of the United States for a time like this.  His job is to protect Israel.  If he is faithful, the United States and the rest of the world will prosper.
Erdoğan is Planning Another Event to Destroy Israel

A couple of days ago, an article titled “Erdoğan’s Vision: Army of Islam to Destroy Israel” caught my attention.  According to the article, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) 57 member nations are forming an “Army of Islam” to destroy Israel.

Behind the curtain, Erdoğan is pulling the strings.  He knows that a Muslim army will outnumber Israeli forces, and he believes that numerical superiority is enough to annihilate the “Zionist occupiers”.

OIC member states have a combined population of 1,674,526,931 people and combined armies of 5,206,100 soldiers.  Indeed, that is a formidable army.

According to the article, the Army of Islam will use “combined ground, air and naval forces” to “defeat Israel militarily in 10 days and diplomatically in 20 days, thereby liberating ‘Palestine.’”  After the attack, Erdoğan believes the Islamic world will “take its rightful place among the superpowers.”

Destroying Israel is a message that resonates in the Muslim world.  If he succeeds, Erdoğan knows that he will be viewed as someone very much like the madhi, or the Muslim messiah.  He has been trying to accomplish that objective for the past decade.

Erdoğan doesn’t know Yahweh.  If he did, he wouldn’t be so foolish.

Yahweh wants the odds against Israel to be overwhelmingly lopsided.  That way, after Israel’s victory, everyone in the world will know that Yahweh is Israel’s Protector and give Him the glory and honor that He deserves.

It’s a Spiritual Battle

This is a spiritual battle between the forces good and the forces of evil.

Yahweh is Sovereign.  He chose President Trump to lead the forces of good during this period.  Yahweh and only Yahweh has the authority to make that decision.

Like him or not, President Trump is Yahweh’s man.  Those who viciously oppose him are actually opposing Yahweh.  They need to repent.  That means they need to turn and go in the opposite direction.  In other words, they need to support the president.

People who think that Yahweh doesn’t intervene in the affairs of nations are wrong.  He’s doing it right now.

No one in his right mind should want to become Yahweh’s enemy, because He will win and destroy His enemies.

See “Americans’ support for Israel among highest ever recorded”.  It looks like Yahweh’s people are getting the message.

HalleluYah!

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
