Caroline Glick— Coordinated assault:

“I’m proud of him.”

That’s what the father of Dafna Meir’s murderer said when the Palestinian media asked him what he thinks of his cold-blooded son Murad Adais.

On Sunday afternoon, Adais butchered Meir in her home, in front of her children.

Whether Adais Sr. is really happy that his son will rot in prison is less important than the fact that he said what he said to his home crowd.

He knows that his audience thinks his son is a hero. And so he played to his audience.

Since last September when the Palestinians began their current terrorist onslaught, killers like Adais have been characterized as lone wolves. But a study published last November in Mosaic online journal by Shalem College’s Daniel Polisar shows that this characterization is both wrong and unhelpful.

Polisar studied Palestinian public opinion data from surveys conducted by four independent research groups over the past 25 years. His data exposed three key aspects to Palestinian positions about Israel that all bear directly on the current Palestinian terrorist offensive.

His first finding is that throughout most of the past quarter-century a solid majority of Palestinians have supported terrorism against Israelis.

Moreover, the more murderous an attack, the more it is supported.

SnyderTalk Comment: No matter what you hear or see in the media, Palestinians don’t want peace with Israel.  They never have.

That’s not my opinion.  It’s the centerpiece of both the Hamas and Palestinian charters.

For Palestinians, the pretense of peace is a negotiable commodity.  They use it to enrich themselves at our expense.

This madness has to stop.

Jonathan Spyer—We’ve Got It Wrong: ISIS Is Not the Main Problem in the Middle East: On a recent reporting trip to Iraq and northern Syria, two things were made apparent to me — one of them relatively encouraging, the other far less so. The encouraging news is that ISIS is currently in a state of retreat. Not headlong rout, but contraction. The bad news? Our single-minded focus on ISIS as if it were the main or sole source of regional dysfunction is the result of faulty analysis, which in turn is producing flawed policy.

Ben Caspit—Why Israel is keeping a close eye on Iran’s parliamentary elections: Israel’s response to the lifting of sanctions on Iran was typically acrimonious. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Jan. 17, “Israel will monitor the implementation of the deal and will notify of any violation.” He added that Tehran “has not abandoned its aspirations to acquire nuclear weapons and continues to act to destabilize the Middle East and spread terrorism throughout the world, in violation of its international commitments.”

Pamela Geller—Sweden: State-funded Muslim ‘Sniper’ Training: No, this is not the Onion. But it is madness. Why would Sweden give sniper training to Muslim refugees? This story from the Swedish publication Allehanda is from 2013, but it is well worth revisiting now. Is this training continuing? Where are the Muslim migrants who have gone through this training now? What are they doing?

Hugh Fitzgerald—Ten Things to Think When Thinking of Muslim ‘Moderates’: 1. Not only Muslims, but “islamochristians” objectively promote and push the propagandistic line that disguises the Jihad (evidence of which can be found worldwide), and mislead as to both what prompts that Jihad (not “poverty” or “foreign policy” but the precepts of the belief-system of Islam) and what will sate it (not Kashmir, not Chechnya, not the absurd “two-state solution,” not continued appeasement in France and Holland — there is nothing that will sate or satisfy it, as long as part of the globe is as yet resistent to the rule of Islam). “Christians” such as Fawaz Gerges or Rami Khoury, or someone who was born a Christian, such as Edward Said, are Arabs whose views are colored by that self-perception.

Boston GlobeFuture of unified Europe is under threat, French prime minister warns: Prime Minister Manuel Valls of France has issued a stark warning about the future of a unified Europe, saying the very idea was under threat unless the Continent can protect its borders in the face of a huge influx of migrants.

Arutz Sheva‘Practically impossible’ to integrate Muslim refugees: Milos Zeman, President of the Czech Republic, who is known for his fiery anti-migrant rhetoric, said that it is “practically impossible” to integrate the Muslim community into European society in a televised interview he held on Sunday. “The experience of Western European countries which have ghettos and excluded localities shows that the integration of the Muslim community is practically impossible.” “Let them have their culture in their countries and not bring it to Europe, otherwise the situation will end up like what happened in Cologne,” he added. Zeman was referring to the massive number of assaults that took place against women during  New Year’s Eve that have left scars on the memories of many Germans, and  created massive reprisals and anti-immigrant retaliations in the city and elsewhere.

SnyderTalk Comment: That’s not correct.  It’s impossible to integrate Muslim refugees, not “practically impossible”.

David Daoud—Rouhani: Nuclear Deal ‘One of Iran’s Greatest Successes’ Against the West: Iran’s president has expressed his complete satisfaction with the outcome of the nuclear deal reached between the Islamic Republic and world powers in July, regime-aligned Tasnim News Agency reported on Thursday. Hassan Rouhani hailed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) – which went into effect on Sunday – as “one of Iran’s greatest successes” against the West. He stressed that Iran had only agreed to the final version of the deal after “30 months of tough talks,” and that Tehran’s negotiators almost walked away three times.

Times of IsraelChinese leader calls for Palestinian state with East Jerusalem capital: Chinese President Xi Jinping called on Thursday for the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Speaking to the Arab League in Cairo while on a tour of the region, Xi said China supports the peace process in the Middle East and backs a Palestinian state along the pre-1967 lines with Israel.

Voice of AmericaChina, Iran Expand Ties During Xi Visit: Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called for a “new chapter” in China-Iran relations, as the Chinese leader continued an official state visit to Tehran.

SnyderTalk Comment: See “It’s not all oil: Xi’s MidEast tour tests Chinese foreign policy” and “Iran and China hail ‘new chapter’ as Xi wraps up Middle East tour”.

BloombergU.S., GCC See No Future for Syria If Terror ‘Magnet’ Assad Stays: The U.S. and six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council said they see no future for Syria if President Bashar al-Assad remains in power as he is a “magnet” for terror in the region.

SnyderTalk Comment: That’s a good sound bite, but it’s far from the truth.

Assad may be the immediate culprit, but there are many others.  ISIS and other Islamist groups have no shortage of excuses to fight.

Bottom line: the problem is radical Islam, not Assad.  That’s not an endorsement of Assad.

ReutersUS Vice President Biden says prepared for military solution in Syria: Vice President Joe Biden said on Saturday that the United States and Turkey were prepared for a military solution in Syria if a political settlement was not possible.

Washington PostIsrael: Palestinian girl killed after attempted stabbing: Israeli police say a security guard shot and killed a 13-year-old Palestinian girl who tried to stab him at the entrance to a West Bank settlement. Police spokeswoman Luba Samri says an initial investigation suggests the girl fought with her family before leaving her home with a knife ahead of Saturday’s altercation. The last four months have seen near-daily Palestinian stabbing attacks that have killed 25 Israelis and an American student. At least 147 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, 102 of them identified by Israel as attackers. The rest have been killed in clashes with Israeli troops.

SnyderTalk Comment: The title of this article is problematic.  Here’s why: it begins with “Israel” and follows with “Palestinian girl killed”.  That’s all many readers will see, and they won’t take the time to read the article.

What if the title had been written this way: “13-year-old Palestinian girl attempts to murder security guard”.  That’s true.

And what about this one: “Terrorist killed before she could complete her mission”.  That’s true, too.

Bottom line: words matter and their order of appearance matters, too.

CNNKerry says ‘fight’ with Netanyahu over, Obama to visit Israeli Embassy: Kerry met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, days after the implementation of the Iran nuclear deal, lifting of U.S.

SnyderTalk Comment: What?  No apology from Obama to Netanyahu?

When a bully starts a fight and then decides to lay back and wait for another opportunity, the fight isn’t over.  It’s merely a lull in the fighting.

See “Obama to speak at Israel embassy event honoring Righteous Gentiles”.

SnyderTalk Comment: I included this video because I like it and because it’s SnyderTalk.

The New YorkerThe EU vs. BDS: the Politics of Israel Sanctions: This past Monday, the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council reaffirmed a November requirement that Israel label products made in the settlements differently from those made in Israel. On Tuesday, the State Department spokesman John Kirby unexpectedly reinforced the E.U. position, saying that “construction, planning, and retroactive legalization of settlements” is illegitimate, and that the U.S. does “not view labelling the origin of products as being from the settlements as a boycott of Israel.”

SnyderTalk Comment: If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.

CNNAu revoir and shalom: Jews leave France in record numbers: Krief, a French Jew who had just finished high school, moved to Israel with his family six months later, as part of the largest migration of Jews from Western Europe to Israel since the modern state ofIsrael was created.

Daily BeastThe Arab Gangsters of Israel: Violent crime is endemic throughout the Arab sector in Israel, where police estimate that close to half a million illegal guns are in circulation.

CNBCMiddle East prepares for a post-oil era: As oil prices continue to wallow at lows not seen for more than decade, petroleum exporting countries in the Middle East are looking to reform their economies so that they can weather the shock of far lower oil revenues – and prepare for a future after fossil fuels.

SnyderTalk Comment: Uncertainty in oil underlies the volatility in the stock market.  Saudi Arabia is keeping the price of oil low enough for long enough to eliminate higher cost competitors.  It’s called predatory pricing.  It’s illegal in the U.S.

The GuardianIraqi Kurdistan president: time has come to redraw Middle East boundaries: The president of Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish north has called on global leaders to acknowledge that the Sykes-Picot pact that led to the boundaries of the modern Middle East has failed, and urged them to broker a new deal paving the way for a Kurdish state.

Jakarta PostResolving Middle East conundrum: There was a time when the imbroglio engulfing the Middle East was only capable of mustering a humming of sympathy among us. Whenever we came across harrowing images or staggering statistics of casualties from the region we could only shake our heads incredulously and go about our daily lives. Now terror has rattled our capital in an attack for which the Islamic State (IS) movement eventually claimed responsibility.

SnyderTalk Comment: Before it’s over, no one will have an excuse.  Yahweh will make sure of it.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
