1--Intro Covering Israel and ME

“For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My Name will be great among the Gentiles, and in every place incense is going to be offered to My Name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My Name will be great among the Gentiles,” says Yahweh Sabaoth. (Malachi 1: 11)

“But now, thus says Yahweh, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by Name; you are Mine!’” (Isaiah 43: 1)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares Yahweh, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

“Trust in Yahweh with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Tamar Pileggi—Israel, Russia deepening coordination to avoid Syria ‘mishaps’:

Israel and Russia are to increase their military coordination during the latter’s ongoing airstrikes in Syria, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday, after talks with Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Paris climate conference.

“I just had an important talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We agreed to deepen the coordination between us in order to prevent mishaps and to do so on a broad basis,” Netanyahu told reporters after their brief meeting.

“I think that every citizen of Israel understands today, in light of recent events on the Turkish border, the great importance of my trip to Moscow and these ongoing contacts with the Russian president,” he said, referring to the Russian jet shot down last week by Turkey along the Turkish-Syrian border.

Furthermore, Netanyahu said, senior Israel Defense Forces and Russian military officers were to meet Tuesday “in order to continue this policy.”

The prime minister said the Kremlin strongman had updated him on the developments with the Russian warplane.

SnyderTalk Comment: Israel’s avoiding conflict with Russia is good news and bad news.

The good news: Israel and Russia are on the same side where ISIS is concerned.  Hindering Russia in any way is a mistake.

The bad news: Russia is a serious long-term problem for Israel.  That won’t change.

See “Obama warns Putin on intervening in Syria’s civil war” and “NATO formally invites Montenegro to join alliance, irking Russia”.

Obama talked with Erdogan in Paris about Russia, so Obama’s warning to Russia comes as no surprise.  The idiocy of the warning does surprise me.

Russia is involved in the Syrian Civil War and has been for some time now.  Obama is the man sitting on his thumbs.

Inviting Montenegro to join NATO makes no sense from a strategic perspective.  The purpose is to poke Russia in the eye.  Putin will have no problem interpreting the facts.  We are moving toward a hotter Cold War footing with Russia.

Our president is handing the Middle East to Russia and Iran on a silver platter.  Maneuvering at the margins with silly geopolitical games won’t change that.

It doesn’t bode well for the future of the U.S., Europe, NATO, or Israel.  Israel in particular is at risk.  So are Saudi Arabia and every other ally that we once had in the Middle East.

That brings me to the underlying problem.  Anyone who voted for Obama is culpable.  Anyone who votes for Hillary Clinton or any Democrat at any level of government is contributing to the madness.

The Democrats’ ace in the hole is that there are a lot of people in the United States who are woefully ignorant but 100% confident.  They vote for Democrats—the Party of Perversity.

I’m not a Republican.  I have never been a Republican.  I used to be a Democrat, though.  My bona fides as a Democrat are rock solid.  That’s how I know that the Democrat Party is the Party of Perversity.

A donkey is the Democrat logo.  That’s why I call them the dumb asses.

I wish I had confidence in the Republican Party, but I don’t.  Thankfully, I do have confidence in some of their candidates for president.

Reuters—Russia says it has proof Turkey involved in Islamic State oil trade:

Russia’s defence ministry said on Wednesday it had proof that Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and his family were benefiting from the illegal smuggling of oil from Islamic State-held territory in Syria and Iraq.

Moscow and Ankara have been locked in a war of words since last week when a Turkish air force jet shot down a Russian warplane near the Syrian-Russian border, the most serious incident between Russia and a NATO state in half a century.

In a briefing in Moscow, defence ministry officials displayed satellite images which they said showed columns of tanker trucks loading with oil at installations controlled by Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, and then crossing the border into neighbouring Turkey.

The officials did not specify what direct evidence they had of the involvement of Erdogan and his family, an allegation that the Turkish president has vehemently denied.

“Turkey is the main consumer of the oil stolen from its rightful owners, Syria and Iraq. According to information we’ve received, the senior political leadership of the country – President Erdogan and his family – are involved in this criminal business,” said Deputy Defence Minister Anatoly Antonov.

SnyderTalk Comment: The fact that Erdogan is a double-dealing crook has been obvious for a very long time.  The fact that he is an Islamist is equally obvious.

Erdogan isn’t very smart.  If he had more sense, he would know that Islamists turn on each other when they take breaks from butchering infidels.  Turkey is beginning to feel the effects of Erdogan’s actions.

Kudos to Russia for pointing out some of Erdogan’s shenanigans.

Hugh Naylor—Scores of Iranian Fighters Are Dying in Syria, Iranian Media Reveal:

An increasing number of Iranian soldiers and militiamen appear to be dying in Syria’s civil war, Iranian media are reporting. At least 67 Iranians have been killed in Syria since the beginning of October. “They are proud of this and they want to show it,” said Ali Alfoneh, an Iran expert at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

Phillip Smyth, a researcher on Shiite militant groups at the University of Maryland, said 2,000 Iranians or more could be deployed in Syria. And they appear to be increasingly involved in “direct combat” operations since Russia, another Syrian ally, began launching airstrikes at rebels in September, which could explain the rising death toll, Smyth said.

Tom Vanden Brook—Islamic State Defections Mount as Death Toll Rises, U.S. Official Says:

Defections of Islamic State fighters have begun to thin their ranks in Iraq in the last month, intelligence reports show. Military officials estimate that the campaign has killed 23,000 Islamic State fighters, raising their death toll by 3,000 since mid-October. Near Kirkuk in the last week, 90 Islamic State fighters laid down their arms and turned themselves over to Kurdish peshmerga forces, said Army Col. Steve Warren, spokesman for the anti-ISIS coalition in Baghdad.

Tamer El-Ghobashy and Hassan Morajea—Islamic State Tightens Grip on Libyan Stronghold of Sirte:

The Islamic State has exploited the deep divisions in Libya, which has two rival governments, to establish a new base close to Europe where it can generate oil revenue and plot terror attacks. Its presence in Sirte, with a population of 700,000 on the Mediterranean coast, has grown over the past year from 200 fighters to 5,000, according to Libyan intelligence officials.

SnyderTalk Comment: See “Sirte in Libya May Be Islamic State’s Fallback Option”.

Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu—Netanyahu: If Abbas Is Committed to Peace, He Must Stop Inciting His People Against Israel:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Climate Conference in Paris on Monday: “We have to recognize that radical incitement and lies feed terrorism. Those who are committed to peace must fight incitement, must speak the truth. If President Abbas is committed to peace, he must stop inciting his people against Israel, and start condemning the murder of innocents in Israel.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Netanyahu knows the truth, but he can’t tell it because the world doesn’t want to hear it, especially from him or any Israeli prime minister.  Abbas doesn’t want peace.  For him, signing a peace treaty with Israel is signing his death warrant.

Herb Keinon—Netanyahu Calls for Friendly Countries to Change UN Voting Pattern on Israel:

Israel will begin asking countries with whom it has friendly ties and who want Israeli cooperation to change their anti-Israel voting patterns at the UN, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Mondayafter speaking with numerous heads of state at the climate conference in Paris. Netanyahu said leaders from around the world – including Arab states – approached him at the conference to talk about counter-terrorism and technological issues.

Netanyahu met in Paris with U.S. President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe, French President Francois Hollande, and even shook hands and greeted PA President Mahmoud Abbas.

Simon Henderson—Israel’s Gulf Breakthrough:

Last week, the United Arab Emirates gave Israel formal permission to establish a diplomatic office in Abu Dhabi under the auspices of the International Renewable Energy Agency. Although officials from both governments noted that the office is solely intended to facilitate Israel’s membership in the agency, the announcement should be seen in the context of improving Israeli-Gulf relations. In fact, the new office is Israel’s second diplomatic presence in a Persian Gulf country. This latest advance should also be seen as a consequence of the Obama administration’s perceived embrace of Iran.

Matthew Holehouse—Paris Attacks and Brussels Raids Prompt Belgium’s Jews to Consider New Exodus:

Betty Dan owes her life to a Belgian Catholic family who heroically sheltered her parents during the Nazi occupation. A former president of Belgium’s Zionist association, Mrs. Dan helps organize property fairs for some of the 200 Belgians a year who move to Israel. Reluctantly, she is thinking of following them, as are many others. Since the Paris attacks, she has received telephone calls from people seeking information on moving at a rate of five a day, compared to one a week previously. “It is young people with children who sell their houses and leave everything. They are scared,” said Mrs. Dan. “We don’t feel safe.”

Last weekend, as troops in armored vans patroled the streets, Brussels’ Grand Synagogue closed its doors for Shabbat for the first time since the Second World War. Avraham Guigui, the chief rabbi, told Israel Radio, “People realize there is no future for Jews in Europe.” Belgian government figures recorded 130 reported anti-Semitic incidents last year, a 10-year high and a 50% increase on the year before. Rabbi Avi Tawil, director of the European Jewish Community Center in Brussels, said, “We see people are targeted for being Jewish in the streets all the time….I do hear around me this idea coming over and over: that we should not think of Brussels or Europe as a long-term strategy for our children.”

Alan Baker—Important Things to Remember about the 1947 Partition Plan:

The 1947 Partition Plan adopted on November 29, 1947, recognized the uniqueness of Jerusalem and the Jewish people’s bond to the city, while establishing the principle of two states for two peoples. Had the Arabs agreed to live with the resolution as the Israelis did, despite its drawbacks, we would be in a different situation today with far fewer bereaved families on both sides.

Because of the Arabs’ rejection of the resolution and their decision to fight its implementation, all claims about Israel’s rights are still valid and remain unchanged until agreement on a permanent settlement is reached, contravening any assertion by the UN and the Europeans about the territory belonging to the Palestinians.

Yoram Schweitzer—The Paris Attacks: Not a Strategic Change, But a Natural Development:

  • The terrorist attacks in Paris were planned in Syria long in advance, with final preparations made in Belgium. The terrorist network involved in the multi-pronged strike consisted of at least nine members, seven of whom were suicide attackers. Another attack seems to have been planned for a financial district in the city.
  • Since the start of this year, Muslim citizens of Western countries who fought in the ranks of the Islamic State are known to have planned to attack targets in France, Germany, the UK, Turkey, and elsewhere, but these attacks were foiled. The terrorists’ intentions indicate that the Paris attacks and the others that were planned do not represent a radical departure from the Islamic State’s strategy against Western nations.
  • The thousands of foreign volunteers that have been absorbed into the ranks of the Islamic State over the last three years were trained as fighters and suicide attackers. Clearly, the governing idea was that when the time was right, it would be possible to have these operatives launch an international terrorism campaign.
  • The notion that the Islamic State would avoid international terrorism was clearly unfounded. Video clips disseminated by Islamic State members and sympathizers included declarations by foreign volunteers of their intention to undertake acts of terrorism in Western nations. These messages must be viewed as a strategic warning.
  • Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State and its self-appointed caliph, has directly challenged the leaders of Russia, Europe, and NATO by means of mass casualty terrorist attacks carried out recently by his proxies. The Islamic State’s declared worldview is one of Armageddon, which promises that the war of Judgment Day will restore Islam to its proper supremacy.

JTAU.S. Women’s Studies Association Votes to Support BDS Against Israel:

The National Women’s Studies Association voted 653 to 86 last month to join the international boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against Israel.

SnyderTalk Comment: My confidence in the women’s rights movement is zero.  The Arab world abuses women like no other, but U.S. women want to stick it to Israel.

This is my conclusion: the women in charge of the women’s rights movement are ignorant, and I’m being kind.

Camilla Turner—UK Bank Closes Accounts of Palestine Solidarity Campaign:

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) in the UK has had its accounts closed by the Co-operative Bank over fears that it may be inadvertently funding terrorism.

The bank had requested that PSC carry out “advanced due diligence checks” on their accounts to ensure that funds do not “inadvertently fund illegal or other proscribed activities.”

It was “not possible to complete these checks to our satisfaction and the decision to close a number of accounts, including the PSC and some of its affiliates, is an inevitable result of this process.”

Roi Kais—Egypt Discovers Iron Tunnel Network under Gaza Border:

Egyptian border guards discovered a network of 17 underground tunnels with walls of iron 40 cm. thick under the border with Gaza on Friday, according to Egyptian security officials.

Building such a tunnel would be extremely expensive. The Egyptian news portal al-Masrawireported that Egyptian officials believe Hamas used considerable funding from Qatar to construct the tunnels.

Raphael Ahren—Greece to Defy EU Order on Labeling Settlement Goods:

A day after Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras visited Jerusalem, his foreign minister, Nikos Kotzias, sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informing him of the opposition by Athens to the EU guidelines on labeling settlement products.

Times of IsraelUS troops reportedly fighting IS on the ground in Iraq:

UK’s Guardian cites video from Kurdish peshmerga fighters showing American special forces in action against terror group.

Times of IsraelIsrael, Jordan unveil $800m joint plan for ‘Red-Dead’ canal:

As well as rejuvenating the rapidly diminishing Dead Sea, the canal will bring drinking water to both countries.

Times of IsraelErdogan says he can ‘fix’ tense Israel ties:

Security detail clears away reporters before Turkish president can elaborate.

SnyderTalk Comment: Erdogan is a liar and a crook.

See “Pipe bomb explodes on overpass near Istanbul metro, five hurt: local mayor”.

The people of Turkey are just beginning to suffer because of what Erdogan has done.  Things have really changed in Turkey and not for the better.

Erdogan’s double-dealing is backfiring.  These are the opening salvos.

We, too, will pay the price for Obama’s double-dealing.

Con Coughlin—Russia’s Failed Adventure in Syria

Russian President Vladimir Putin may well come to regret agreeing to Iran’s request for Moscow to intervene militarily in Syria’s brutal civil war.

The shooting down of a Russian warplane over the Syrian border by Turkey has graphically illustrated the risks Moscow faces after the Kremlin agreed to intervene on behalf of Syria’s beleaguered President Bashar al-Assad.

Mr Putin took his fateful decision to launch military action in Syria after meeting Major-General Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s notorious Quds Force, in Moscow last August. Visiting Moscow shortly after the conclusion of June’s deal on the future of Iran’s nuclear programme (JCPOA), Soleimani delivered a blunt warning to the Russian leader that the Assad regime, Russia’s long-standing strategic ally in the Middle East, faced defeat without outside support.

Douglas Murray—The Real Lesson of the Paris Attacks:

  • What if the terrorists had been targeting “just Americans,” or “just diplomats” — would that be “understandable terrorism” in John Kerry’s thinking?
  • “If we should stop drawing cartoons, should we also stop having synagogues? Should they be converted into something else? Should we ask the Jewish people to leave?” — Organizer of a targeted fee speech event, in response to the question if they had brought the attack on themselves.
  • Much of the world may only have been just bragging or emoting in saying, “Je Suis Charlie” or “Je Suis Juif” in January. But it turns out not to matter: the terrorists of ISIS think we are all cartoonists and Jews anyway.
  • Since we cannot live with ISIS and similar groups, we had better do whatever it takes to speed up an end of our choosing before they speed up an end of their choosing.

Oli Smith—Man blasted on Twitter for telling Pope to READ THE BIBLE:

The Argentine Pontiff sent out plea to Christians around the world to not turn their back on their Muslim “brothers” in a pea for peace.

Pope Francis tweeted to his more than eight million followers: “Christians and Muslims are brothers and sisters, and we must act as such.”

But Hans van den Hoorn, a Dutch radio presenter, replied: “Why don’t you ask Mumslims to convert to Christianity? Please read John 14:6.”

The verse the man cited centred on Jesus’ declaration that Christianity was the only route to salvation.

John 14:6 reads: “Jesus answered: ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’.”

SnyderTalk Comment: I wish Catholic adherents would read the Bible.  If they do, they will see that the Messiah’s mother is not Yahweh, that all believers are saints, and that religion is a serious problem.

The Catholic Church does not represent the Christian community.  It represents the Catholic Church.

Kim Hjelmgaard—Britain’s Cameron expected to win Syria airstrikes vote:

British Prime Minister David Cameron was expected on Wednesday to secure parliamentary backing for the country’s military to conduct airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Syria.

Lawmakers will hold a lengthy debate in the House of Commons before deciding whether to join France, Russia and the United States in a bombing campaign against the militant group. The vote is due around 10 p.m. local time (5 p.m. ET).

British warplanes are already striking Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, targets in Iraq, but Cameron believes that by joining the U.S.-led coalition against ISIS targets in Syria the jihadist network’s terrorist capabilities will be further reduced.

Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the opposition Labour Party, is opposed to the airstrikes. However, in a break from tradition he is allowing Labour politicians to vote freely on the issue rather than enforcing party discipline. Many Labour members of Parliament were expected to back the bombing campaign.

Jerusalem PostWith Israeli-EU relations strained, Netanyahu looks toward India, China:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, sat kiddy-corner in armchairs at this week’s international climate summit near Paris, talking and laughing.

“We have the best of relations, and they can be made even better,” Netanyahu told Modi at the meeting.

To which Modi responded, “I am happy that often we can talk easily on telephone, we can discuss everything.”

A brief encounter between Netanyahu and European Union foreign policy envoy Federica Mogherini was far frostier. Mogherini approached Netanyahu in the hallway, and they shared little more than a handshake.

The contrast reflects an Israeli warming to the East, just as its relations with Europe have cooled amid disagreements over the peace process and Iran’s nuclear program. In recent years, trade between Israel and Asia has shot up, while Israel and Asian powers have made diplomatic overtures toward each other. And even as Israel’s strongest diplomatic ties remain with the West, there are signs of a pivot eastward.

SnyderTalk Comment: Israel’s relations with the Europe and the U.S. are strained.  The movement toward Russia and China makes sense from a political perspective in the short-run, but in the long-run it is a tragic mistake.

Jerusalem PostEx-Clinton aide proposed ‘shaming Israel’ by soliciting funds for Palestinians, email shows:

The email was written by Anne-Marie Slaughter, who served as Clinton’s director of policy planning at Foggy Bottom from 2009 until 2011.

SnyderTalk Comment: That suggestion never would have been made if Slaughter didn’t think it would resonate with Clinton.  That’s the way political appointees think.

Exodus 30

6 “You shall put this altar in front of the veil that is near the ark of the testimony, in front of the mercy seat that is over the ark of the testimony, where I will meet with you. 7 Aaron shall burn fragrant incense on it; he shall burn it every morning when he trims the lamps. 8 When Aaron trims the lamps at twilight, he shall burn incense. There shall be perpetual incense before Yahweh throughout your generations. 9 You shall not offer any strange incense on this altar, or burnt offering or meal offering; and you shall not pour out a drink offering on it. 10 Aaron shall make atonement on its horns once a year; he shall make atonement on it with the blood of the sin offering of atonement once a year throughout your generations. It is most holy to Yahweh.”

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
