And it shall be that when they say to you, ‘Where should we go?’ then you are to tell them, ‘Thus says Yahweh: “Those destined for death, to death; and those destined for the sword, to the sword; and those destined for famine, to famine; and those destined for captivity, to captivity.”’”

Have we reached the Tipping Point, the point of no return?
On Thursday, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was caught on an open microphone saying, “The Republicans are trying to destroy this country as we know it.” If that were only true.
Let’s begin by examining what Pelosi is for – things that she thinks are threatened by the GOP:
- Socialized medicine that we didn’t and don’t want – a poor substitute for what we had prior to Obamacare and a healthcare system that will sink this nation under a mountain of debt.
- Abortion on demand with no restraints whatsoever.
- Perversity in a myriad of forms.
- Irresponsible spending on everything under the sun with no regard for the consequences.
- Carbon emissions standards that will change this country in ways that most people can’t even imagine in order to accomplish absolutely nothing except to make people like Al Gore rich.
I could go on listing items on Pelosi’s agenda, but the list above should suffice. She thinks the Republicans are trying to change all of these things. Truth be told, some of them are and some of them are not. Despite the posturing taking place in Washington right now thanks to the debt ceiling debate, many Republicans are firmly in Pelosi’s camp. I would love to see voters in their districts give them the heave-ho in 2012. Who knows? Maybe they will.
Then there are Republicans and a few Democrats too who realize that we are on an unsustainable path – a path that leads to destruction. They are opposed to most of the things on Pelosi’s agenda, and they should be.
Voters will have a chance to make their voices heard again in November 2012. The tide is turning against Pelosi, Obama, and Harry Reid. We may yet have an opportunity to right the ship and build for a more prosperous future, but that is by no means certain. It depends on people like you and me.
