This is the Word of Yahweh:
Thus says Yahweh concerning all My wicked neighbors who strike at the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel, “Behold I am about to uproot them from their land and will uproot the house of Judah from among them. And it will come about that after I have uprooted them, I will again have compassion on them; and I will bring them back, each one to his inheritance and each one to his land. Then if they will really learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ even as they taught My people to swear by Baal, they will be built up in the midst of My people. But if they will not listen, then I will uproot that nation, uproot and destroy it,” declares Yahweh. (Jeremiah 12: 14-17)

Nothing bothers liberal progressives more than being ignored.
Some people say that the University of Virginia is a conservative school. They remind me of people who say that 130 degrees in the desert is not unpleasant because it’s dry heat. So is an oven and you know what we use ovens for. People who think 130 degrees isn’t hot have never experienced it. The same is true for people who think UVA is a conservative school.
Almost every university is loaded with liberal progressives who see it as their sworn duty, their mission in life if you will, to suppress and restrict all opinions except their own, and they’ll stop at nothing to prevail. UVA is no different. If you have a conservative bent, at UVA you will encounter a strong headwind. I’m not saying that conservatives can’t survive at UVA. Obviously, they can because I did. I’m simply saying that resistance to conservative ideas at our nation’s institutions of higher learning is incredibly strong, and that’s not just my opinion. Empirical research proves it.
I spent 25 years teaching at UVA, and today I’m a chaired professor emeritus. My experience taught me a fundamental truth that we need to grasp. Liberal progressives think they have a monopoly on wisdom. In their self-righteous way, they enjoy pontificating about their perspectives on the world in which we live and life in general. Their innate insecurity compels them to smother other points of view because in their world other beliefs are dangerous. This is the truth I learned. More than anything else, LPs can’t stand being ignored. They crave the limelight and the adoration of lesser humans.
This lesson has a timely real world application. As we move toward dealing with the serious problems that LPs have thrust upon this nation, we’ll have to exercise discipline and not be sidetracked by sniping from the creators of this mess. We need to be mindful of the fact that LPs think they are absolutely right regardless of the data. Most of them will never abandon their views, and they will never quit telling us about them ad nauseum. In that sense, they remind me of the communists who ran the Soviet Union for 70 years. They wouldn’t even consider the possibility that their system was a dismal failure despite mountains of hard evidence proving it.
The best thing we can do is to ignore the LPs who created our problems because they have no interest in solving them. Their primary mission is and always will be to convince us that they were right all along. They seem to live by this credo. “To hell with the facts, I have an opinion.” They may never understand the truth, and we don’t have enough time to teach them. We need to get on with business. If they come along, fine. If they don’t, forget trying to persuade them. Just let them whine and moan. They’re good at that.
