“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

Who Are the Real Climate Change Deniers?

In 1972, the year I graduated from college, climate freaks were telling us that global cooling would cause a worldwide famine and usher in a period of plagues that would wipe out a huge percentage of Earth’s population.

We’ve made a 180 degree turn since then. Today’s climate freaks are telling us that global warming is about to do us in.

One of my professors in college was a climate freak. He would fit in well with today’s climate freaks, but he would have to sing a different tune. He was convinced that global cooling would wipe us out in just 3 years, so he required us to read a book that was his gospel. The book was written by William Paddock, and it had an ominous title: Famine 1975! America’s Decision: Who Will Survive?.

I thought my professor was a nutjob. Turns out, I was right. He didn’t understand the basic facts about climate change. The most important fact that he completely ignored was that Earth was (and still is) emerging from the Little Ice Age. Put that on the backburner. I’ll get back to it in a moment.

The climate changes constantly but very slowly. It can take hundreds or even thousands of years for climate change to matter in people’s lives. Most people don’t live long enough to see a transition from a cold to a warm cycle or from a warm to a cold cycle, but data about those changes is well-preserved. Earth itself is the witness.

Interestingly, throughout Earth’s history, warm cycles have been associated with prosperity and all sorts of other good things. Cold cycles have been associated with death, disease, and mass migrations to avoid starvation. We should enjoy the warmth while it lasts, because it won’t last forever. When the climate turns cold, we’ll look back on our present situation as the good old days.

The Little Ice Age

The Little Ice Age started in about 1350 AD and lasted for about 500 years. It caused global famine, plagues, and mass migrations of people.

The Little Ice Age ended in about 1850 AD. That was about 170 years ago. Even though 170 years seems like a long time, form a geologic perspective, it’s like the blink of an eye.

When the present warming cycle will end is anyone’s guess, but at some point, it will end. That will be when the cold begins, and people won’t be happy.

What happens when ice ages end?

What happens when ice ages end? That’s a simple question, right?

Obviously, it’s not a simple question, because large numbers of well-educated people around the world don’t know the answer. Eggheads, politicians, and journalists are the most ignorant people of all.

This is the cycle:

  1. When ice ages end, temperatures rise. The last ice age ended in about 1850 AD, and temperatures started rising. We are still in the warming cycle.
  2. When temperatures rise, ice sheets melt. Slowly but surely, the ice has been melting for about 170 years.
  3. As ice sheets melt, sea level rises. Sea level started rising in about 1850 AD, but it’s  rising very slowly now.
  4. Dumping vast quantities of fresh water into the oceans reduces the salinity of sea water and decreases the speed of ocean currents. That’s happening now.
  5. The slowing of ocean currents sets the stage for the next ice age. You can rest assured that the next cycle will be a cold cycle, not a warm cycle.

There are lots of exogenous variables that interact with Earth’s climate, things like volcanic activity, sun spots, Earth’s orbit around the sun, and asteroids hitting Earth. We have no control over those variables. They can speed up or slow down the change process.

The Bottom Line

Climate cycles have been repeated many times throughout Earth’s history, and the climate will continue to change. There isn’t one thing humans can do about it. Humans don’t cause climate cycles, and humans can’t do anything to stop them. It’s as simple as that. Anyone who says otherwise has ulterior motives that have nothing to do with climate change.

A Lot has Happened Since 1972

Al Gore lost the 2000 presidential election, and he needed to find something to do. He needed a cause to peddle to the public. Voila, global warming became his mantra, and a lot of ignorant people bought into it. Gore’s infamous book “An Inconvenient Truth: The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It” became their gospel.

Since Gore’s dire predictions never materialized, global warming freaks decided to change their narrative. They stopped calling it “global warming” and started calling it “climate change”. They said that their mission is to stop climate change. That’s absolutely impossible.

Cycles within Cycles

Climate cycles have cycles, too. During global warming periods, there are periods of cooling, and during global cooling periods, there are periods of warming. That’s normal. It’s like getting a warm day in the middle of winter or a cold day in the middle of summer.

Since weather cycles take place over hundreds or even thousands of years, there are lots of cycles within cycles. That means you can’t place too much emphasis on day-to-day and year-to-year data. The overall trend is what’s important, and we are still in a warm cycle.

Con Men are Getting Rich

Al Gore is the epitome of a con man. Nothing he said would happen has happened, but he keeps peddling his mantra. Regrettably, there are plenty of ignorant people in the world who take the bait. They are the real climate change deniers.

If Gore had been right or even close to right, Manhattan Island would be under water today. The last time I checked, it’s still above water.

Gore has made a fortune peddling his lies. Like most con men, he is good at one thing, cashing in, and he is not alone. Many others are doing their best to cash in on the warm cycle before the next cold cycle begins. They are doing their best to convince governments around the world to tax their people into poverty for no good reason.

Read Stand!

In 2011, I published a novel titled Stand!. In it, I presented the facts about climate change with an interesting storyline. You should read it.

“I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me — just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father — and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd. The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life — only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.”

John 10: 14-18
