Isaiah 26: 7-9—“The way of the righteous is smooth; O Upright One, make the path of the righteous level. Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, O Yahweh, we have waited for You eagerly; Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls. At night my soul longs for You, indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; for when the earth experiences Your judgments the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.”

“For here we are not afraid to follow the truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error so long as reason is left free to combat it.” (Thomas Jefferson)

Scripture of the day:

Isaiah 26: 7-9—“The way of the righteous is smooth; O Upright One, make the path of the righteous level.  Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, O Yahweh, we have waited for You eagerly; Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls.  At night my soul longs for You, indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; for when the earth experiences Your judgments the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.”

SnyderTalk Commentary: This is a quote from the article above—“’The political atmosphere obviously has been toxic and it’s very clear that some of the votes that I have cast have added to the toxic environment,’ an emotional Bennett told reporters, choking back tears.”

Mr. Bennett doesn’t get it.  Many don’t.  The political atmosphere isn’t toxic.  Finally, people have had enough of business as usual in Washington.  Members of the House and Senate who have ignored our nation’s urgent needs while they threw money at things that make no sense and burdened us, our children, and our grandchildren with an unsustainable debt load are beginning to pay the price.

A complete overhaul in Congress is long overdue.  Thankfully, Mr. Bennett was shown the door.  Chris Dodd decided he wouldn’t seek re-election after the people of Connecticut let it be known that he was toast.  Bart Stupak dropped out because he felt threatened.  I wonder how those aborted babies feel, Mr. Stupak.  There will be other cowardly defections and defeats at the polls.  It’s all part of a nationwide effort to clean up a toxic Congress.  Don’t let up.  The first big battle will be fought in November 2010, but the war won’t be won quickly or easily.
