Palestinian Depravity and Duplicity on Display

These two articles reveal the depths of Palestinian depravity and duplicity:

Article #1

The first article has to do with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas attending the funeral of former Israeli Prime Minister and President Shimon Peres—“Palestinians: Abbas ‘The Jew’”:

Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas is facing a barrage of criticism for attending the funeral of former Israeli President Shimon Peres in Jerusalem. The fury directed towards Abbas comes as no surprise to those who are familiar with the unrelenting campaign of anti-Israel incitement that has been taking place for many years in Palestinian society.

If attending the funeral of an Israeli leader, especially one who devoted the past two decades of his life to peace between Israel and the Palestinians, draws such condemnation, it is easy to imagine the result of a Palestinian leader making a peace overture to Israel.

President Abbas is now receiving a dose of his own medicine. This is what happens when you unleash a tidal wave of hate against Israel and its leaders in the media, mosques and public rhetoric. This is what happens when you inform your people that Israeli leaders are “war criminals” who ought to be prosecuted before the International Criminal Court. This is what happens when you drive into your people that Jews are desecrating with their “filthy feet” Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem. This is what happens when you accuse Israel of “ethnic cleansing”, “extra-judicial executions” and “poisoning” Yasser Arafat.

Article #2

The second article followed the first one by a few days—“PA President Abbas’ Fatah Movement Hails Terrorist ‘Martyr’ Who Slaughtered 2 Israelis, Wounded 6 Others in Jerusalem Shooting Spree”:

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah faction lauded the actions of the terrorist who murdered two Israelis and wounded at least six on Sunday morning in a shooting spree in Jerusalem, the research institute Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) reported.

According to the report, Fatah honored Silwan resident Musbah Abu Sbeih – whom it called a “martyr” for Allah, as he was killed by Israeli security forces after going on his bloody rampage. In two separate postings on its official Facebook page, Fatah praised the killer and declared both a day of mourning and a general strike on his behalf.

The following is one excerpt from Fatah’s Facebook page, provided and translated by PMW:

The one who carried out the operation today in Jerusalem is a pilgrim [to Mecca] Martyr Musbah Abu Sbeih, one of the most prominent people in Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and a released prisoner.

He was supposed to turn himself in today and begin a sentence of four months on charges of Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and hitting the occupation’s soldiers.

The second article is about Mahmoud Abbas as head of the Fatah Party and PA President telling his people that his attitude toward Israel hasn’t changed.  He still believes that Israel should not exist and that killing innocent civilians and others indiscriminately is official PA policy.

Many Israelis believe that only about 15% of Palestinians buy into the warped logic of extremists like Mahmoud Abbas.  That’s just a guess, and it may be accurate, but 15% is a large number of would-be terrorists.

In so-called “East Jerusalem” alone, there are more than 200,000 Palestinians 98% of whom are Israeli citizens.  Another 1,700,000 Palestinians live in the West Bank, and 1,800,000 Palestinians live in Gaza.  That’s just under 4,000,000 Palestinians total.  15% of that number is almost 600,000.

It gets worse.  About 7,000,000 Palestinians worldwide are so-called “refugees”.  15% of that number is more than 1,000,000.  That means using a conservative assumption there are more than 1,500,000 potential Palestinian terrorists lurking in dark places waiting for an opportunity to kill and maim innocent people in the name of justice for Palestinians.

Mahmoud Abbas and the Fatah Party have been promoting hatred of Israel for more than 50 years.  Hamas is much worse.  All of them have indoctrinated their children to believe that killing Jews, Israeli Jews in particular, is a one-way ticket to heaven.  That’s what being a “martyr” means.

Undoing the damage they have done would be a herculean task.  A piece of paper with signatures at the bottom won’t solve the problem, so any peace process is destined to fail.

If Mahmoud Abbas’ attendance at the funeral of a Israeli Jew who dedicated his life to peace between Israel and Palestinians elicits vile hatred, imagine what his signature on a peace treaty with Israel would produce.  I’ve said this before, but it can’t be repeated too often: the Palestinian who signs a peace treaty with Israel is a dead man.

Mahmoud Abbas knows that.  So do Fatah Party members.  So do Hamas leaders.  So do the roughly 1,500,000 wannabe Palestinian terrorists.

Bottom line: peace between Israel and Palestinians is a pipe dream.  Even if a peace treaty is signed, it won’t amount to a hill of beans.  The Oslo Accord is evidence that we are on the wrong path.  The Two-State Solution can’t work no matter what politicians want us to believe.

Sukkot: The Festival of Tabernacles or the Feast of Booths

Leviticus 23: 33-44:

33 Again Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 34 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to Yahweh. 35 On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work of any kind. 36 For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to Yahweh. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to Yahweh; it is an assembly. You shall do no laborious work.

37 These are the appointed times of Yahweh which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, to present offerings by fire to Yahweh—burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each day’s matter on its own day—38 besides those of the Sabbaths of Yahweh, and besides your gifts and besides all your votive and freewill offerings, which you give to Yahweh.

39 On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of Yahweh for seven days, with a rest on the first day and a rest on the eighth day. 40 Now on the first day you shall take for yourselves the foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your Elohim for seven days. 41 You shall thus celebrate it as a feast to Yahweh for seven days in the year. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 You shall live in booths for seven days; all the native-born in Israel shall live in booths, 43 so that your generations may know that I had the sons of Israel live in booths when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your Elohim.’” 44 So Moses declared to the sons of Israel the appointed times of Yahweh.

Zechariah 14: 1-21

1 Behold, a day is coming for Yahweh when the spoil taken from you will be divided among you. 2 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. 3 Then Yahweh will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. 4 In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. 5 You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then Yahweh, my Elohim, will come, and all the holy ones with Him!

6 In that day there will be no light; the luminaries will dwindle. 7 For it will be a unique day which is known to Yahweh, neither day nor night, but it will come about that at evening time there will be light.

8 And in that day living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter.

9 And Yahweh will be king over all the earth; in that day Yahweh will be the only one, and His Name the only one.

10 All the land will be changed into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but Jerusalem will rise and remain on its site from Benjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses. 11 People will live in it, and there will no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will dwell in security.

12 Now this will be the plague with which Yahweh will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth. 13 It will come about in that day that a great panic from Yahweh will fall on them; and they will seize one another’s hand, and the hand of one will be lifted against the hand of another. 14 Judah also will fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered, gold and silver and garments in great abundance. 15 So also like this plague will be the plague on the horse, the mule, the camel, the donkey and all the cattle that will be in those camps.

16 Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahweh Sabaoth, and to celebrate Sukkot. 17 And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, Yahweh Sabaoth, there will be no rain on them. 18 If the family of Egypt does not go up or enter, then no rain will fall on them; it will be the plague with which Yahweh smites the nations who do not go up to celebrate Sukkot. 19 This will be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations who do not go up to celebrate Sukkot.

20 In that day there will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, “Holy to Yahweh.” And the cooking pots in Yahweh’s house will be like the bowls before the altar. 21 Every cooking pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be holy to Yahweh Sabaoth; and all who sacrifice will come and take of them and boil in them. And there will no longer be a Canaanite in the house of Yahweh Sabaoth in that day.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
