Erdogan Sets His Sights on Europe

According to a recent report,

Turkey has threatened to back out of an agreement to stem the flow of migrants to the European Union if Turkish nationals are not granted visa-free travel to the bloc by October.

Although Turkish officials have repeatedly threatened to renege on the March 18 EU-Turkey deal, this is the first time they have set a deadline.

If the EU approves the visa waiver, tens of millions of Turks will gain immediate and unimpeded access to 26 European countries. If the EU rejects the visa waiver, and Turkey retaliates by reopening the migration floodgates, potentially millions of migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East could begin flowing into Greece this fall. Europe is trapped in a no-win situation.

The migration deal, which entered into force on June 1, was hastily negotiated by European leaders desperate to gain control over a crisis in which more than one million migrants poured into Europe in 2015.

Millions of Turks live in Europe already.  What do they think about President Erdogan?  See “Turkey failed coup: How do Turks in Europe see Erdogan?

The results are mixed with those favoring Erdogan outnumbering those who oppose him.  Virtually all Turks living in Europe are fearful that Turkey is becoming an increasingly unstable and dangerous place.

Who is responsible for destabilizing Turkey?

It’s not the coup organizers.  Erdogan has been attacking his political opponents for more than a decade and trying to impose Islamist ideology throughout Turkish society.  That inspired the coup leaders, so Erdogan brought it on himself.  It’s not over yet even though Erdogan has the upper hand today.

See “Egypt and Turkey following the Failed Coup: The Interrupted Thaw”.  Turkey’s relations with Egypt are on the decline again following the coup attempt and Erdogan’s crackdown on his political opponents.

Also, see “Egyptian Political Analyst: Cairo-Jerusalem ‘Partnership of Necessity’ Blossoming Since Ouster of Muslim Brotherhood’s Morsi”.  Egypt and Saudi Arabia are moving toward Israel.  That fact speaks volumes.

President Erdogan should be careful and fearful, although I know he won’t be.  Megalomaniacs are oblivious to the damage they inflict on others.  Erdogan is the worst kind of megalomaniac.  He is the narcissistic variety.

Me, me, me.  Power, power, power.  Those are Erdogan’s drivers.  Nothing else matters.

No tyrant, Erdogan included, can stop every person who is determined to eliminate him.  Eventually, one of them will succeed.

With each passing day, Erdogan and Hitler look more and more alike.  The only thing that saved Hitler from assassination or worse was a bullet to the head and a cyanide capsule, both of them self-administered.

See these articles:

If that’s not a Hitler move, nothing is.  Wouldn’t it be ironic if Erdogan got his wish and ended up receiving the death penalty in a Turkish court?

Don’t think it can’t happen.  Mussolini got rave reviews until they hung him from a steel pole in front of a Milan gas station with his pants down.  Hitler killed himself to avoid a similar fate.

As I have said, tyrants end up getting what they deserve unless they die of natural causes first.

The video below shows Muslim immigrants in Paris ambushing and burning a bus with Molotov cocktails while they shout “Allahu Akbar”.  This is the Europe that Erdogan wants, and it’s the Europe that he is trying to bring about.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
