Christian People Need to Get Off of Their High Horses

When Yahweh led me to write His Name is Yahweh, I thought the Christian community would be as thrilled as I was.  I was naïve.  I had no idea how set in their ways most Christians are.

Right or wrong, they hold fast to their traditions.

The vast majority of Christians have never heard the Name Yahweh.  When they hear, see, or read a message about the Name from someone like me, most of them reject it because they have never heard it before in church.  That’s where they think they should have heard it.

They are right about that.  They should have heard it in church.

Several years ago, I was in Jerusalem with a group of people who were participating in an Israeli security conference.  At that time, we were involved with a project in the Negev, and the Israeli government wanted to grow the Negev population.  Our project was one of many that they wanted to highlight.

A member of our group was a former pastor.  He loved to quote Scripture.  One night, we were sitting in the Three Arches Hotel and talking about the Name Yahweh.  I could tell by his facial expressions and his demeanor that he was skeptical.  Then, he quoted Scripture: “…at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow.”

The arrogant way he said “Jesus” annoyed me.  In his world, he had proven that I was off base.

I said, “You are wrong.  That’s not what the Bible says.”

You would have thought that I had slapped him in the face.

I continued, “This is what the Bible says: ‘For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.’” (Philippians 2: 9-11)

Yahweh is the Name that is above every name.  God bestowed the Name Yahweh on the Messiah.  His Name wasn’t Jesus.  It was Yeshua.

Yahweh is the Name to which every knee will bow.  That’s what the New Testament says.

The former preacher nodded his head and admitted that I was right.

I didn’t make up my message.  It was given to me.  My job is to present it.  What people do with it is between them and Yahweh.

One time, I was in Fort Worth, Texas presenting my message to a church group.  I told them that the Name Yahweh appears in the Old Testament almost 7,000 times, and it should appear all over the New Testament as well since the Old Testament is quoted extensively in the New Testament.

I said, “There are more than 7,000 errors in the King James Bible because it uses ‘the LORD’ and ‘the Lord GOD’ where Yahweh’s Name should be.”

Later, the pastor told me that several members of his congregation would reject what I said simply because I said that the King James Bible isn’t error free.  In their world, I had committed the unpardonable sin, but I simply told them the truth.

Over the years, Yahweh has impressed upon me the extent to which He detests Easter and Christmas.  Easter originated as a celebration for the Babylonian and Assyrian fertility goddess Ishtar—hence the name Easter.  Christmas originated as a celebration for the sun god, Sol Invictus, at the winter solstice.

Christmas and Easter coincide with those celebrations.  They are wrapped up in imagery, rituals, and traditions that are thoroughly pagan to the core.

Yahweh will not condone mixing the holy with the profane.  That’s what we have done with Christmas and Easter.

A woman that I know well told me, “Christmas is such a wonderful family time.  I don’t think I can give it up.”

That’s eerily similar to the argument that heroin addicts and obese people use to explain why they can’t kick their terrible habits.  They are stuck in a dangerous condition because they refuse to accept the truth and change their lifestyles.

A few days ago, I posted a SnyderTalk editorial titled “The New Testament is Commentary, not Scripture”.  That’s a controversial topic, too.

In the editorial, I presented 4 examples from the New Testament that prove my point.  There are many others.

I have been down this road many times.  People are thrilled when you tell them something they already know and agree with, but many of them are offended when you tell them things they don’t know or disagree with.  They steadfastly refuse to consider the evidence, and there is plenty of it.

I fear for them.  The day is coming when Yahweh will tell us many more things that we don’t know or don’t agree with.  What will they do then?

Every Christian can talk in general terms about the Messiah’s Sermon on the Mount.  It’s in Matthew chapters 5 through 7.  His purpose was to convey the message that people had been taught things that were wrong and to tell them the truth.

For example, He said,

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” (Matthew 5: 27-28)

His point was that all of us are guilty.  Everyone has committed adultery, and we need a Savior/Redeemer.  That’s not what the people who were with Him that day had heard in synagogue.

I’m reminded of something Paul said: “For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.” (Hebrews 5: 13-14)

It’s time for Christians to grow up, get off of their high horses, and start paying attention to what Yahweh said.

SnyderTalk Comment:

I like Jim for lots of reasons.  First and foremost, his heart is in the right place.  He has a heart for Yahweh, and he’s busily doing what Yahweh is leading him to do.

Jim does what all of us should do.  He searches for the truth.

Yahweh said, “Seek and you will find.  Knock and it will be opened to you.”

That’s what all of us should do.  When Yahweh shows us the truth, we should accept it gladly.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
