Global Warming and the Tower of Babel: There is a Connection
A few days ago, an article in the Washington Post caught my eye. It was titled “Einstein predicted gravitational waves 100 years ago. Here’s what it took to prove him right.”
Einstein has been vindicated. It took more than 100 years to prove his theory. It will take some time to debunk global warming charlatans, too.
Debating climate change is difficult. Here’s why:
- To understand climate change, you must be well-informed. Few are.
- Climate change is slow. I would say that it moves at a snail’s pace, but compared to climate change, snails look like speed demons.
- Because climate change is so slow, opportunists and crooks can cash in without fear of being exposed. Few of them live long enough for the masses to recognize that they have been had.
- Rarely, the climate makes a dramatic shift. When it happens, it’s because of things like comets or asteroids hitting the earth. Those impacts are very unpredictable. They have nothing to do with man-made CO2 emissions.
- Climate cycles are continuous. They are driven primarily by things like oscillating currents in the Pacific and the Atlantic. Sun spot activity also affects our climate significantly. Sun spots have cycles, too.
- Typical climate cycles last about 30 years. That means hucksters have 3 decades to sell their lies before things change. By contrast, Ice Ages can last for 10,000 years or more.
- Debating climate issues is unproductive unless honest people who are well-informed are involved. “I have an opinion” is not a winning argument in a serious climate debate. Problem is most people have only opinions, and they think their opinions matter or that they should matter. Serious science is not about opinions.
- Those who sell climate change (either global cooling or global warming) as a cause rally political support for their chicanery and politics takes over. Once political leaders are involved, anything can happen because politics is all about opinions. That’s where we are now.
I’ve lived long enough to witness the global cooling kooks and the global warming kooks ply their trade. They are the same people. They just switch positions when the climate changes.
Why am I fixated on climate change?
Climate change is a tool that’s being used to accomplish political objectives.
It’s not about science. It’s all about politics.
Global warming (the climate change issue du jour) alarmists are attempting to stir up unrest and popular support for their cause. Eventually, they hope to transfer wealth on a global scale and to usher in a global form of government to guarantee compliance with carbon emission standards.
Purchases of rights to emit carbon into the environment will fund the operation. In that sense, global warming alarmism is being used to justify the creation of a tax as it were on the haves to support the have-nots through a global political machine.
What will we call the leader of that machine? Secretary General of the United Nations may be correct, but don’t count on it. I think something more grandiose is likely because at the core this is about political control of planet earth.
From Yahweh’s perspective, I think this looks a lot like the Tower of Babel incident all over again.
It’s a big deal. That’s why I keep mentioning it.
It’s not obvious yet, but it will be. By the time everyone catches on, it will be too late to do anything about it.

A Sad Truth
Katie and I were married in 1972. The Watergate incident was front and center in the news at that time. Both of us are news junkies. We like to keep up with what’s going on around us.
Lots of books were written about Watergate. I read all of them. All the President’s Men by Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward was the best one.
Eventually, a movie with the same title was released. It starred Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman, and Jason Robards, among others.
As the movie was nearing the end, the two reporters were zeroing in on Bob Haldeman, Nixon’s chief of staff, as the orchestrator of all the dirty tricks that eventually brought Nixon down.
Watergate was the talk of Washington, D.C. for roughly 2 years. It was followed by the political elite in our nation’s capital more closely than pro football fans follow the Super Bowl.
In a scene at the end of the movie, reporters Bernstein and Woodward were talking with Ben Bradley, Executive Editor of the Washington Post, in Bradley’s front yard. The reporters were explaining the facts and telling Bradley that their lives were in danger.
In other words, it was a big deal. This is what Bradley told the reporters:
“You know the results of the latest Gallup Poll? Half the country never even heard of the word ‘Watergate’. Nobody gives a shit.”
Sometimes that’s how I feel about climate change and a host of other issues. People don’t give a shit.
Well, they should. The issues matter a lot to Yahweh.

1: Times of Israel—Obama to reluctantly sign trade bill that lumps together Israel and settlements:
The White House announced Thursday that President Barack Obama will sign a trade bill despite it containing a provision that lumps together Israel and “Israeli-controlled territories.”
Such language, meaning that the bill is applicable to Israel and the settlements, “contravenes longstanding U.S. policy towards Israel and the occupied territories, including with regard to Israeli settlement activity,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in a statement, hours after the measure was approved in the Senate by a vote of 75-20.
Nonetheless, while the president objects to that particular facet of the legislation, Earnest suggested his accepting it, and signing the bill, was part of the nature of bipartisan compromise. “As with any bipartisan compromise legislation, there are provisions in this bill that we do not support,” Earnest said.
2: Caroline Glick—The IAF’s Achilles’ Heel:
This week Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told government ministers that he may wait for the next US president before signing a new military assistance deal with America. Israel’s current military assistance package is set to expire in 2018 and the new package is supposed to include supplemental aid to compensate Israel for President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran. But to date, the administration has rejected Israel’s requests for additional systems it could use to defend against Iran attacks.
Last October, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon asked US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter to provide Israel with a new squadron of F-15s that Israel would outfit with its own electronics systems. Carter reportedly rejected that request as well as one for bunker buster bombs.
Carter instead insisted that Israel use the supplemental aid to purchase more F-35 Joint Strike Fighters, US-made missile defense systems, and the Osprey V-22 helicopter, which Ya’alon didn’t want.
The fact that the administration wants Israel to buy more F-35s instead of F-15s is alarming both for what it tells us about America’s commitment to maintaining Israel’s qualitative edge against Iran and for what it tells us about the F-35, which is set to become the IAF’s next generation combat fighter.
Before considering these issues, it is worth pointing out that the US is not the ally it once was.
3: india.com— Dmitry Medvedev warns foreign offensive in Syria could spark world war:
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev warned today that if Arab forces entered the Syrian war, they could spark a “new world war” and urged ceasefire talks instead. Also read “Russian protest leader sues Vladimir Putin over corruption”.
“The Americans and our Arabic partners must think hard about this: do they want a permanent war” he was quoted as telling the German Handelsblatt business daily. “Do they really think they would win such a war very quickly?” He added: “All sides must be forced to the negotiating table instead of sparking a new world war.”

A lot has changed since the Cold War with Russia ended. The U.S. in particular has changed, and not for the better. Patriotic talk and fond memories can’t change it.
4: Jerusalem Post—Moscow’s alliance with Iran and Hezbollah threatens strategic Israeli interests:
Governments and pundits were stunned last September when Russia sent an expeditionary force into Syria.
The immediate goal seemed to be to safeguard the survival of the beleaguered Bashar Assad regime and Russian naval assets in the port of Tartus. But it soon became clear that Russian President Vladimir Putin had other major strategic goals.
On the face of it, Putin was challenging Western sanctions and NATO military moves after Russia’s occupation of Crimea and its military support for the pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine. But Russia’s interest in Syria goes much deeper. It is driven by a burning desire to reinstate its Middle Eastern presence and influence, after an absence of three decades, and the great power status it lost with the crumbling of the Soviet empire.
Moreover, after Islamic State spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani declared the creation of a new province, in the North Caucasus in June 2015, Russia shifted its threat assessment from the Caucasus emirate to IS militants in the region. Moscow’s Interior Ministry and the Federal Security Service have been monitoring over 2,800 Russian citizens who left to fight alongside IS in Syria and Iraq, and the Russian government is deeply concerned over IS influence among Russia’s 20 million Muslims.

5: NBC News—John Kerry Takes Aim at Russia Over Ukraine and Syria at Munich Conference:
Secretary of State John Kerry on Saturday sharply criticized Russia for its actions in Ukraine and Syria, accusing Moscow of “repeated aggression” in both places.
In a speech at the Munich Security Conference, Kerry said Russia is defying the will of the international community with its support for separatists in eastern Ukraine and its military intervention in Syria on behalf of President Bashar Assad.
His comments came just after Russia’s prime minister, Dmitry Medvedev, told the conference that the West is rekindling the Cold War with sanctions imposed on Russia over Ukraine and with new NATO moves.
6: Soeren Kern—Germany’s Migrant Crisis: January 2016: “Migrants Have No Respect for our Constitutional Order”:
In January 2016, the German public appeared finally to wake up to the implications of their government’s decision to allow 1.1 million — mostly male — migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East to enter the country during 2015.
After more than a thousand Muslim migrants sexually assaulted hundreds of women in cities across Germany on New Year’s Eve, Chancellor Angela Merkel began to face a rising voter backlash to her open-door migration policy.
Merkel’s government has responded to the criticism by: 1) attempting to silence critics of the open-door migration policy; 2) trying to “export” the migrant problem to other countries in the European Union; and 3) announcing a series of measures — branded as unrealistic by critics — to deport migrants accused of committing crimes in Germany.
What Merkel has steadfastly refused to do, however, is reduce the number of migrants entering the country. Despite snow, ice and freezing temperatures across much of Europe, a total of 91,671 migrants — an average of around 3,000 migrants each day — entered Germany during the month of January 2016.
The following is a review of some of the more notable stories about the migration crisis in Germany during January 2016.
7: Algemeiner—US Jewish Leaders Meet With El-Sisi in Egypt, Following Talks With Turkey’s Erdogan:
US Jewish leaders met in Cairo with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Thursday, Israel’s Channel 10 reported.
The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations delegation was led by executive vice chairman Malcolm Hoenlein, whom the news outlet described as “close” with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The group spent more than two hours in talks with the Egyptian leader.
Participants said Sisi carried a positive message, saying he was committed to the ongoing existence of common interests between Egypt and the US.
According to a press release by the Conference of Presidents, the meeting “covered a wide range of domestic and international issues, including US-Egyptian and Israeli-Egyptian relations, regional threats, especially those posed by terrorist organizations and their supporters, and Iran post-JCPOA,” the nuclear deal the Islamic Republic reached with world powers last July.
“The Jewish leaders said that they had an open and very productive discussion and that they were impressed by the president’s analysis on a wide variety of issues,” according to the statement.
8: New York Times—Syrian Opposition Groups Sense U.S. Support Fading:
The United States and its allies have spent many millions of dollars backing Syrian opposition fighters they deem relatively moderate and secular, and civilian groups whose work on small businesses and local councils they billed as the cornerstone of Syria’s future.
But the very Syrians who benefited — and risked their lives in the process — now say that investment is in danger of going down the drain, and they see little urgency from Washington, diplomatic or military, to save it.
“What are you going to do, other than statements?” Zakaria Malahifji, the political chief of one of the largest rebel groups given weapons and salaries by the C.I.A. and its counterparts in several European and Arab states, demanded in a recent message to contacts at the French Embassy.
In nearly five years of war and insurrection, many Syrians have been repeatedly disillusioned by what they saw as a mismatch between tough American rhetoric against the Syrian government and comparatively modest efforts to aid some of its opponents. President Obama said President Bashar al-Assad must go, and drew a red line over the use of chemical weapons, but backed off on both, diminishing anti-government Syrians’ trust.
9: Telegraph—Islamic State video shows British boy known as ‘Junior Jihadi’ blowing up three prisoners:
A British boy believed to be aged four and nicknamed “junior jihadi” has been filmed blowing up three prisoners in the latest grisly execution video released by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil).
In exploitative footage that is shocking even by Isil’s standards, Isa Dare, whose mother Grace “Khadija” Dare is a convert to Islam who has sworn allegiance to the jihadist group, is seen pressing a button on what appears to be a remote control device seconds before a car containing four alleged “spies” goes up in a ball of flames.
Wearing a black Isil headband and military-style fatigues, the boy announced to the camera beforehand that “we are going to kill the kuffars (non-believers) over there”. He is then seen standing beside the car’s burnt-out remains, triumphantly punching the air and shouting: “Allahu akbar.”

11: Voice of America— CIA: Islamic State Has Chemical Weapons:
The director of the Central Intelligence Agency said Islamic State fighters in Syria have used chemical weapons.
John Brennan said there are a number of instances where the terrorist group has used “chemical munitions on the battlefield.” His comments were featured in excerpts from the television news show 60 Minutes. The full interview with Brennan will air Sunday on CBS.
Brennan told the news show the jihadist group has the capacity to make small quantities of chlorine and mustard gas.
The CIA director also warned that IS may be looking to sell the chemicals to the West. Brennan said “there’s always the potential for that.”

He is a man who many hoped would reform the Russian Orthodox Church – but he has been a conservative force with the ear of the Kremlin. He is renowned for his openness to other branches of the Christian faith – and also a lover of fine watches, luxury cars and comfortable living.
Patriarch Kirill, who has led the Russian Orthodox Church since 2009, is meeting Pope Francis on Friday in a historic encounter, the first ever between the heads of the two churches. And though he has a sharply different personal style from the homespun Francis, both men have made building ties among Christians a major focus of their careers.
13: ABC News—Inside Machete-Wielding Man’s Terrifying Attack at Ohio Restaurant:

The suspect, identified as Mohamed Barry, 30, according to Franklin County Coroner Dr. Anahi Ortiz, eventually fled the scene in a car with police in pursuit, according to a police press release.
A man who apparently encountered the suspect on the road also called 911.
“You need to get this guy—he just nearly collided and nearly caused an injury accident,” the caller said. “And he has a long knife—you did hear that, right? And he has a weapon.”
After some time, the suspect stopped and exited the car, armed with a machete in one hand and a knife in the other, police said in the release. Officers deployed a taser to prevent him from fleeing again, but it wasn’t effective. As the suspect lunged at police, an officer shot him multiple times, according to the release. Officer John Johnson, a 25-year veteran, fired the shots, police said.
Barry died at the scene, police said.
