What is the “Palestinian Cause”?

Yesterday’s SnyderTalk lead headline, “Do we have to hijack your planes again?’”, was about former “peace” negotiator Nabil Shaath attacking the West for indifference.  He asked whether “Arabs have to ‘hijack your planes and destroy your airports again’ to make the world take notice of the Palestinian cause.”

We’ve noticed.  Palestinians have set up shop on college campuses across America.  They are selling their wares to unsuspecting college kids.

They have taken over Hollywood.  Ignorant movie stars and wannabes can be seen on late-night television regurgitating Palestinian propaganda almost any day of the week.

The Democrat Party has become the Palestinian mouthpiece.  Like gangster lawyers of a bygone era, Democrats tell us all they know about the “Palestinian cause” and then some.

Yes, Mr. Shaath, we have gotten your message.  It’s loud and clear.

Now, they have another message for us: “If [Israel] wasn’t occupying the West Bank, these children would not have to kill Jews.”

“Occupation” of the “West Bank” isn’t the problem.  It never was.

Palestinians said that the so-called “occupation of Gaza” was the problem before Israel’s unilateral withdrawal from the Strip in 2005.  Did the “end of the occupation” bring about peace?

No.

Since that fateful day almost 11 years ago, Israel has been in a constant state of war with Hamas.  Lulls in the fighting are used by Hamas to rearm and re-dig terror tunnels.

Israel is the problem, not “occupation”.  As long as Israel exists, so-called “Palestinians” will be campaigning and killing Jews.  The issue du jour changes, but the end goal remains the same.

Yasser Arafat explained it this way:

“Since we cannot defeat Israel in war we do this in stages.  We take any and every territory that we can of Palestine, and establish sovereignty there, and we use it as a springboard to take more.  When the time comes, we can get the Arab nations to join us for the final blow against Israel.” (Yasser Arafat speaking on Jordanian television, September 13, 1993—the same day the Oslo Peace Accord ceremony was held in Washington D.C.)

“Peace for us means the destruction of Israel.  We are preparing for an all-out war, a war which will last for generations.  Since January 1965, when Fatah was born, we have become the most dangerous enemy that Israel has….We shall not rest until the day when we return to our home, and until we destroy Israel.” (El Mundo, Caracas, Venezuela, February 11, 1980)

Yahweh described Palestinians perfectly when He said this about their ancestor, Ishmael:

“He will be a wild donkey of a man, his hand will be against everyone, and everyone’s hand will be against him.” (Genesis 16: 12)

The so-called “Palestinian community” is a hodgepodge of recalcitrant ne’er-do-wells who have but one purpose.  If they achieved their goal, which they will not, they would turn on each other.

Actually, they are doing that now.  Hamas and Fatah are fighting each other in Gaza and the West Bank.  The only times they come together are when they attack Israel.

Many years ago, Flip Wilson put his finger on the problem: “The devil made me to it.”  He’s the instigator.  Palestinians are his puppets.

Wilson’s comedy skit “The Devil Made Me Buy this Dress” is a bit of nostalgia that you might enjoy:

1: Denis MacEoin—Christians Who Demonize Israel – Part II

(See also Part I: Christians Who Demonize Israel: Kairos)

Christians make up only some 1.5% of the Palestinian population. They live in an overwhelmingly Muslim atmosphere and are, given the threats they face from Muslim extremists, naturally loath to express a Christian narrative that differs from the dominant Palestinian narrative, which openly rejects many fundamental Christian beliefs. It is commonplace for Palestinians to express denials of history. Thus, it is repeated that there were never any Jews in the Holy Land before the 19th century and that the first and second Jewish Temples never stood in Jerusalem. Not only do these claims fly in the face of over a century of archaeological work and the records of Greek, Roman and other historians in antiquity, they flatly contradict and annul the texts of both the Old and New Testaments.

Jesus, it would seem, was not a Jewish teacher but a Palestinian Arab who never set foot in Herod’s Temple because it did not exist, and there were never any Jews in the Holy Land. Mitri Raheb, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem, has actually argued that there is no DNA connection between Jews (ancient or modern) and Jesus, but that he himself, as a Palestinian, has such a link. By associating themselves closely with this Palestinian historical fabrication and never asserting the Biblical record (as to do so might be regarded as supportive of the Jewish right to a homeland), many Palestinian Christians are in danger of supporting by omission the Qur’anic claims that the Torah and Gospels have been falsified by rabbis and priests.

2: Michael Curtis—ISIS is the New Imperialism:

One of life’s imponderable problems is to decide whether the glass of water we’ve been drinking is half full or half empty. The same problem arises in deciding on the present condition of ISIS, whether it is declining or remaining a potent terrorist force.

In his press conference on February 4, 2016, White House spokesperson Josh Earnest told his questioner that new U.S. intelligence reports estimated that the number of ISIS fighters in Iraq and Syria had declined from about 31,000 two years ago to 25,000 today. This decline is said to have occurred because of battlefield casualties, desertions or defections to other groups, financial problems, the enhanced performance of Iraqi security forces on the battlefield, and the campaign by the U.S. led coalition, now supposed to number sixty six countries, that has attacked and damaged the infrastructure of the oil fields in Iraq.  ISIS has also lost some of the territory it held, perhaps 25 per cent, largely due to the successful attacks of the Kurds and Iraqi forces.

3: AlgemeinerMedical Breakthrough: Israeli Scientist Heading Int’l Research Team Reverses Alzheimer’s Symptoms in Mice:

An Israeli research professor, heading an international team of scientists, has discovered a way to inhibit the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, the Hebrew news site Walla reported on Monday.

Dr. Shira Knafo, head of the Molecular Cognition Laboratory at BioCruces Health Research Institute in Basque Country, Spain was able to do this by studying the plasticity of the brain, fundamental to learning and memory.

4: Washington PostGermany’s Merkel was upset the pope likened Europe to a barren woman:

In November 2014, Pope Francis delivered a noteworthy address to the European Parliament in the French city of Strasbourg. The Latin American pontiff used the occasion to decry the current course of European politics, which he believed was both succumbing to the self-interest of nationalist politics as well as the corrosive influence of economic policies that handed too much power to big banks and financial institutions.

Seeing the general malaise in Europe, he made this remark, according to a translation WorldViews published then: “In many quarters we encounter a general impression of weariness and aging, of a Europe which is now a ‘grandmother,’ no longer fertile and vibrant.”

This statement made headlines then, and apparently caught the attention of some of the continent’s most prominent leaders. And at least one was not pleased at all.

5: EU Reporter#Israel Azerbaijan, Israel’s top strategic partner in the Muslim world, also deplores ‘double standards’ from the EU:

‘Azerbaijani-Israeli relations develop and nothing can hinder this’, said recently a senior official from Israel’s foreign ministry about the cooperation between the two countries who share many similarities: old nations but young countries, democratic values, hostile and unstable environment, importance of human life and family, many ethnic groups living side by side, need to fight a distorted image and hostile propaganda campaign. Like Israel, Azerbaijan criticizes ‘those who don’t want to see the reality on the ground’.

“The Azerbaijani-Israeli strategic partnership relation encompasses many different areas, like energy, security, defense, agriculture, trade but it is also mostly characterized by the human factor, with a vibrant Jewish community in Azerbaijan,” Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan told EJP in Baku, the country’s capital, located on the western shore of the Caspian Sea, a city which mixes modernity and tradition.

The Jewish community of Azerbaijan, with around 30,000 people, is viewed today as an example in the world how in a secular country with a majority Muslim Shia population, which borders Iran in its southern part, all faith communities, including Judaism, live in perfect harmony and mutual respect.

6: Washington PostHillary Clinton has a major honesty problem after New Hampshire:

Hillary Clinton has an honesty problem.

That point is driven home hard in the exit poll following Clinton’s 22-point drubbing at the hands of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.  More than one in three (34 percent) of all New Hampshire Democratic primary voters said that honesty was the most important trait in their decision on which candidate to support.  Of that bloc, Sanders won 92 percent of their votes as compared to just 6 percent for Clinton.

Ninety two to six.  That is absolutely unbelievable — even given the size of Sanders’s overall victory in the state. And it should be deeply concerning to a Clinton campaign that has been resistant to acknowledging the idea that the ongoing controversy over Clinton’s private email server while at the State Department is a problem for her.

SnyderTalk Comment: Pardon me if I’m blunt.  Hillary Clinton has had an “honesty problem” throughout her public life at least.  It’s as plain as day.  You have to be blind to reality not to see it.

That’s why it sickens me when Hillary supporters talk about how great she is.  They have serious problems of the intellectual variety.  Either that or they are gutter dwellers like she is.

Some will say that I don’t sound much like a Christian, so let me quote the Messiah:

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. [“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense you make long prayers; therefore you will receive greater condemnation.]

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel around on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple is obligated.’ You fools and blind men! Which is more important, the gold or the temple that sanctified the gold? And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, that is nothing, but whoever swears by the offering on it, he is obligated.’ You blind men, which is more important, the offering, or the altar that sanctifies the offering? Therefore, whoever swears by the altar, swears both by the altar and by everything on it. And whoever swears by the temple, swears both by the temple and by Him who dwells within it. And whoever swears by heaven, swears both by the throne of God and by Him who sits upon it.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others. You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may become clean also.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, and say, ‘If we had been living in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ So you testify against yourselves, that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of the guilt of your fathers. You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell?” (Matthew 23: 13-33)

The Messiah was talking about religious leaders.  At least they pretended to be righteous.  Hillary Clinton is rotten through-and-through, and she makes almost no effort to hide it.

As I said, her followers are either blind to reality, intellectually deficient, or gutter dwellers.

Is it too late for Hillary to change?

I’ll answer that question with another question: can a skunk lose its stink?

7: The HillWH looks to defend Paris deal after carbon rule halt:

The White House is looking to downplay the impact of the Supreme Court’s halt of a key carbon rule on the international climate deal reached last year.

The Clean Power Plan, an Environmental Protection Agency rule to cut carbon emissions from the electricity sector, was at the heart of the American commitments President Obama took to the Paris climate talks in December.

The United Nations meeting yielded a global deal setting non-binding carbon reduction targets for countries. Major polluters like China and India signed on, following American prompting. But if the Supreme Court rules against the climate deal — the biggest carbon reduction plan pursued by the Obama administration — those countries and others could conceivably use it as an excuse to back out of the deal.

Obama officials said Wednesday they don’t think that will happen.

Asked whether the U.S. would fulfill its commitments under the Paris deal, White House spokesman Eric Schultz said, “the answer to that is unequivocally, yes. We do remain confident we are going to prevail on the merits when the Clean Power Plan rule gets its full day in court.”

SnyderTalk Comment: No one in his right mind thinks the climate is static, but thinking people don’t blame humankind for climatic changes.

Earth has been around for billions of years.  The climate never has stopped changing.

Humankind has been around for a few thousand years—the blink of an eye in geologic terms.  Blaming humankind for environmental shifts makes no sense whatsoever.

Thankfully, there will be a new sheriff in town by this time next year, and I don’t think it will be Hillary.  The American people aren’t that stupid.
