1--Intro Covering Israel and ME

“For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My Name will be great among the Gentiles, and in every place incense is going to be offered to My Name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My Name will be great among the Gentiles,” says Yahweh Sabaoth. (Malachi 1: 11)

Where in the Bible does it say, “Go along, get along”?

An article in NPR titled “ Two Charts That Help Explain Boehner’s Resignation” included this tidbit of information: “When you see your adversaries — Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, etc. — as the devil, those on the extreme end of your party start looking pretty good to voters, especially primary voters, who are more committed,” writes Marc Hetherington, professor of political science at Vanderbilt University, in an email to NPR “These characters run on the notion that they won’t give the other side an inch.”

The implication is that giving an inch or something more is what we should do.  Let’s put that notion to the test.  What do we know from history?

We are living through some very difficult times.  Speaker of the House is a complicated job, but I cringe when people suggest that compromise is the only solution to every problem.  If that were true, we would have world peace, and Miss America contestants could move on to something else.

For instance:

  • Homosexuality is one of many sexual perversions that some people believe should be legal. People aren’t born homosexual.  They learn it.  For the sake of argument, let’s assume that you disagree and want to compromise.  “Don’t ask, don’t tell” was a compromise, but it turned out to be a step toward what we have today.  Therein lies the rub.  People who want us to accept another compromise see each concession we make as a step toward victory for their cause.  That’s exactly what “giving an inch” means, and now Obama plans to nominate an openly gay person for Secretary of the Army.  Is that an inch or a mile?  Lesson learned?  I wish.
  • For discussion purposes, let’s assume that your neighbor loves his dog. She’s a beautiful German Shepherd that he raised from a pup.  He started having sex with the animal when she was 1-year-old.  The authorities found out about it and arrested him.  He claims that the law has no business interfering in his sex life with the one he loves.  You think his belief is absurd until you discover that there is a group of people in the U.S. who support it, and the group is growing.  They rush to his defense and seek a compromise solution.  What are you willing to accept?  Could it be that any compromise is a step toward full acceptance?  What lessons have we learned from our experience with homosexuals?

Perversion is the plague of our time.  It has infected every country in the world.  Most people have no idea how much is actually going on.

For instance, Snuff films are illegal, but they exist because there is a group of people who will pay to watch others die.  What compromise can we make with them?

Some grown men believe that they should be able to have sex with young boys legally.  What compromise can we make with them?

Hamas sponsored a mass wedding ceremony in Gaza where about 500 grown men married about 500 little girls.  That’s not a joke.  It really happened.  Some of the girls were 5-years-old, and Hamas celebrated it.  They even gave the newlyweds $500 per couple as wedding gifts.  What compromise can we make with them?

We fought a war in this country to end slavery.  Some people argue that the Civil War wasn’t about slavery, but I don’t want to debate that issue here.  Let’s assume that the central issue was slavery and that the Civil War ended it in the U.S.  In some Islamic countries today, slavery is legal.  ISIS sets up slave markets in countries where they have a stronghold.  They sell women to the highest bidder for cash.  ISIS has a growing following in the U.S. and Europe.  What compromise can we make with them?

Abortion is premeditated murder.  Making abortion legal doesn’t change that.  No one has the right to decide that the life of one person should be taken to make another person feel better or to prevent her from having to suffer the inconvenience of raising a child.  We know where compromise on that issue leads.

Who would have imagined in their wildest dreams that the people who perform those abortions would keep some of those aborted babies alive long enough to cut them up and sell their parts in a money raising scheme?  Answer: anyone who knows that we are on greased skids to total depravity.

Didn’t Hitler’s henchmen do the same thing to the Jewish people they killed?  Yes, they did.

Are today’s abortionist murderers morally superior to Hitler and his cabal?  No.

There are so many examples.  I’ve provided a few.  This is the point: we shouldn’t accept some things no matter what.

The Speaker of the House job is tough because we are experiencing culture clash in the U.S.  It plays out in politics.  The Democrat Party sees the culture divide as a way to raise money and win votes and elections.  At this point, they are winning.

The Republican Party is far from perfect, but they are the opposition.  They won’t compromise on a host of issues like the ones I’ve mentioned, at least not this week.

Democrats and their left-leaning supporters blame Republican “hardliners” because they aren’t willing to make a deal.  What deal should they make?  What have we learned from history?

Now, let’s assume that House Republicans make a deal?  Do you think the people who elected them will accept it?  I don’t.

Would Republicans make deals that we can’t abide?  Of course, they would.  How do you think we got to where we are?

Will more compromises solve the underlying problems?  Not a chance.

Will more compromises make things better or worse?  What does history tell us?

Now, consider this: the issues at the heart of the culture clash are moral and faith based.  Is that just an odd coincidence?  I don’t think so.

Yahweh is putting us to the test.  That’s the way He operates.  We will pass or fail.  There is no in-between.

Barack Obama stated it perfectly.  From his perspective, those of us who “own guns and cling to the Bible” are at the root of the problem.  That’s why he has done his best to attack both gun ownership and Biblical principles since the day he took office.  Has he helped to solve the problems we face, or has he made things much worse?

The answer is self-evident.

At what point will Yahweh’s people stand together as a group say, “Enough is enough”?

Where in the Bible does it say, “Go along, get along?”

We are heading for real trouble.  It’s unavoidable.  It’s a battle between good and evil, right and wrong.

Will more compromises like the ones that have been made already prevent it from happening, or will it just delay the inevitable and make things worse?

I hope the answer is obvious.

SnyderTalk Comment: This is happening now on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.  What compromises would we be willing to make if this was Washington, D.C., our capital.

Is this just a peaceful gathering?  No.  They are paid to riot and cause trouble.

Ofra Bengio—Do Iranian Clerics Dream of Eliminating Israel?:

In August 2015, shortly after the signing of the nuclear deal with Iran, the supreme Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei published a book of 416 pages under the title Palestine. The book carries one central message: the urge to annihilate the state of Israel and establish the state of Palestine in its stead. According to Amir Taheri, who got hold of the book early, the three key words are: “nabudi,” which means “annihilation,” “imha,” which means “wiping,” and “zaval,” meaning “effacement.”

Khamenei claims that his strategy for the destruction of Israel is based on “well-established Islamic principles” one of which is that a land that falls under Muslim rule can never again be ceded to non-Muslims. He provides various reasons why Israel, which he terms “adou” and “doshman” (enemy), should be destroyed. First because it is the loyal ally of “the American Great Satan,” second because it has waged wars against Muslims on various occasions, and finally because it occupies the third holiest city to Islam: Jerusalem.

In what has become standard language in the anti-Semitic jargon, Khamenei describes Israel as “a cancerous tumor” whose elimination would mean that “the West’s hegemony and threats will be discredited” in the Middle East. In its place, he boasts, “the hegemony of Iran will be promoted.” The message is hardly a subtle one.

SnyderTalk Comment: Most Americans and Europeans don’t know that we are in trouble, too.

You won’t meet an Israeli person who doesn’t have a very good idea about what’s heading their way.  They don’t like it, but they know it’s coming.

David Weigel: A week of tumult within the GOP signals a transformation, but to what?:

The Republican Party came into 2015 in enviably good shape. Not since the Roaring Twenties had it elected so many members of Congress, and it had never controlled so many state legislatures. Its presidential field was the strongest in memory and the most racially diverse in history. Democrats, meanwhile, were led by a second-term president and his aging would-be successors.

Then came a topsy-turvy summer of presidential politics led by the unexpected popularity of Donald Trump. And rather than fading away as many predicted, the political climate has led to an even more tumultuous autumn: Just in the past week, onetime rising star Scott Walker dropped from the presidential race and House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) stepped down. Both were undone by forces from within.

Boehner’s final act was an attempt to stop conservatives from triggering a shutdown fight over the defunding of Planned Parenthood. That has been put off, but only for now. Approval of the GOP-led Congress is in the teens, even among the Republicans who voted for it. People who have never won elections — billionaire Trump, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and former Hewlett-Packard chief executive Carly Fiorina — command higher support than the rest of the GOP presidential field put together and share an ability to force unwelcome topics into the news cycle.

SnyderTalk Comment: That’s a good question.

Republicans are in a great position to go either way.  Either they will turn toward Yahweh, or they won’t.

If they don’t, Katie bar the door.

We already know where Democrats stand.  They have made their views perfectly clear.  You have to be an idiot or a yellow dog Democrat not to know it.

Tim Lister—Russia’s Syria expedition: Why now and what’s next?:

Russian President Vladimir Putin addresses the United Nations on Monday, and everyone wants to hear what he has to say about Russian intentions in Syria.

Over the last week, a flood of satellite images has depicted the Russian military’s growing presence on the Syrian coast — an area still held by the Bashar al-Assad regime, but under growing threat.

The Russians have also stepped up supplies of advanced military hardware and trainers to the Syrian regime.

The main airport, some 25 kilometers (15 miles) south of Latakia, now resembles a military base, according to the images, which show top-of-the range Sukhoi Fencer fighter jets and T-90 tanks, transport and attack helicopters, fuel dumps and hardened shelters. According to IHS Jane’s Intelligence Review, the satellite photographs show nearly 30 combat aircraft in theater. Two other sites near Latakia are also being developed.

Boaz Bismuth—Israel’s biggest fears are materializing:

Two years ago to the day, in September 2013, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry compared Bashar Assad to Adolf Hitler, after the Syrian dictator once again used chemical weapons against his own people. “This is our Munich moment,” Kerry said at the time.

As far as the Americans were concerned, Assad had crossed a line. In those days (more like in those hours, actually), Washington briefly believed that a failure to respond to Assad’s actions would send a dangerous message to Iran regarding its nuclear ambitions.

“Will [Iran] remember that the Assad regime was stopped from those weapons’ current or future use, or will they remember that the world stood aside and created impunity?” Kerry asked at the time. History and retrospect have turned what may have been Kerry’s greatest speech into remarks entirely detached from reality.

Nadav Shragai—Jerusalem: Delusions of Division:

As the English edition of Jerusalem: Delusions of Division goes to print, the Washington Institute for Near East Policy has published remarkable findings of a public-opinion survey conducted in east Jerusalem in June 2015, under the supervision of David Pollock.1 For the first time, it has been discovered that more than half the Arab residents of the eastern part of the city – 52 percent – prefer to obtain Israeli citizenship with equal rights, while only 45 percent prefer Palestinian citizenship within the framework of a Palestinian state. Only five years ago, in another survey that Pollock supervised, only 35 percent of the east Jerusalem respondents said they wanted to become Israeli citizens.

Anyone not aware of what has been happening in east Jerusalem is indeed likely to be surprised. However, the findings presented in this book – on the Israelization trend and the growing incorporation of east Jerusalem Arabs in the municipal fabrics – easily jibe with the survey’s findings.

Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz—The Temple Mount Is in Danger:

Over 80 years ago, even before the establishment of the State of Israel and the return of Jewish sovereignty to the Temple Mount, the Muslim mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, began to spread lies about Jews trying to harm the Aqsa Mosque. Since then, this evil, false accusation has led to the deaths of many Jews and Muslims alike. Jews have paid with their lives for clinging to their forefathers’ heritage and to the Western Wall, and Muslims have died because of this false and contemptuous blood libel.

Forty-eight years have passed since the Temple Mount, the site of the Temple, returned to Jewish sovereignty – and never have Muslims been restricted from entering. On the contrary, the State of Israel has invested great effort to make freedom of worship possible on the Mount – even at the cost of harming Jewish visitors who wish to ascend to the site. (Without debating the issue of allowing Jews into the Temple Mount area, the Chief Rabbinate, which I represent, forbids Jewish entry to the Temple Mount.) And yet, from the depths of hatred, the cry of “The Temple Mount is in Danger” is sounded again, enlisting naïve people who will kill and be killed in this mendacious war.

Washington Post Editorial—Reporter Jason Rezaian’s Case Proves Iran Still Can’t Be Trusted:

WITH THE international community preparing to lift most sanctions on Iran, its president, Hassan Rouhani, no doubt will present his nation as ready to take its rightful, respected place in the world when he addresses the U.N. General Assembly on Monday. The world, including the Obama administration, should think twice about that. Any nation that holds innocent journalists captive, in violation of its own laws and of international norms, will be regarded with suspicion, and deservedly so.

Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian was seized by Iranian security officials 14 months ago. Iran has never made clear why, but officially his detention is based on what the State Department has called “patently absurd” allegations of espionage and aiding a hostile government. Iranian law says no one may be detained for longer than a year without a conviction, unless accused of murder. No conviction has been announced, but Mr. Rezaian remains imprisoned. That is Exhibit One concerning Iran’s trustworthiness as a law-abiding state.

Soeren Kern—Germany—Migrants In, Germans Out: The Death of Property Rights:

German authorities are applying heavy-handed tactics to find housing for the hundreds of thousands of migrants and refugees pouring into the country from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

With existing shelters filled to capacity, federal, state and local authorities are now using legally and morally dubious measures — including the expropriation of private property and the eviction of German citizens from their homes — to make room for the newcomers.

German taxpayers are also being obliged to make colossal economic sacrifices to accommodate the influx of migrants, many of whom have no prospect of ever finding a job in the country. Sustaining the 800,000 migrants and refugees who are expected to arrive in Germany in 2015 will cost taxpayers at least at least 11 billion euros ($12 billion) a year for years to come.

Caroline Glick—Column one: Israel’s democratic crisis:

Wednesday night Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu touched on the most critical threat to Israeli democracy. Following Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan’s announcement that he was cancelling Brig. Gen. (res.) Gal Hirsch’s appointment as Inspector General of the police due to Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein’s refusal to approve it in a timely manner, Netanyahu said, “Our appointments process is harsh, prolonged, harmful, and without a doubt worthy of review.”

The power to appoint is the power to govern. Without the power to appoint public servants, governments cannot develop patronage networks.

Although patronage has developed a bad reputation, all it really amounts to is the ability to ensure that officials appointed by a government are loyal to the government and as a result can be depended on to faithfully execute the policies of the government.

When appointments are controlled by unelected forces, elected officials cannot trust that public servants will implement their policies. Indeed, it is almost a given that they won’t.

In recent weeks various unelected forces have conspired to scuttle two senior governmental appointments.

In the first case, retired far left Foreign Ministry officials sabotaged the government’s appointment of Dani Dayan to serve as Israel’s ambassador to Brazil.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Exodus 24

9 Then Moses went up with Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, 10 and they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself. 11 Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and they saw God, and they ate and drank.

SnyderTalk Comment: It’s hard to misinterpret these verses.  They say that a group of 74 people saw Yahweh and that they ate a meal in His presence.

Those who argue that Yahweh doesn’t have a Human Form are wrong.  He certainly does.

The Messiah is Yahweh’s Human Form.

Read His Name is Yahweh.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
