September 19, 2015 SnyderTalk: Supporting Israel is in our Best Interest

1--Intro Covering Israel and ME

“For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My Name will be great among the Gentiles, and in every place incense is going to be offered to My Name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My Name will be great among the Gentiles,” says Yahweh Sabaoth. (Malachi 1: 11)

Supporting Israel is in our Best Interest

In an article titled “Is the West Encouraging Palestinian Terror?”, Jonathan Tobin posed a question that deserves a response.  Below is a paraphrase of his concerns:

Attacks on Jewish cars and pedestrians with rocks and firebombs are so routine as to be considered not particularly newsworthy. Any Israeli effort to push back against terrorism is seen as being somehow the fault of the Jews, while Palestinians committing crimes are seen as innocent youths performing what the New York Times described as a “rite of passage.” But would those Western observers who sympathize with or rationalize these attacks on Jews consider such attacks on their cars in the U.S. and Europe to be anything but attempted murder?

The supposed justification for the Palestinians using rocks and firebombs is that they don’t have tanks and jet aircraft to shoot at Jews “in order to press for independence.” But if “independence” were the goal of the Palestinian national movement, it could have achieved that 15 years ago when the Israelis offered the Palestinian Authority a state and sovereignty in almost all the West Bank, a share of Jerusalem and Gaza.

The goal of rock throwing, which has indeed become something of a national sport for Palestinians, is to injure and kill individual Jews. Like suicide bombings or rocket attacks on Israeli cities, the point is to shed Jewish blood. Palestinian nationalism is still inextricably linked to a belief that the presence of Jewish sovereignty over any part of the country, whether across the 1967 line or inside them, is unacceptable.

The short answer to Tobin’s question is yes.  We are contributing to the escalation of Palestinian terrorist attacks on Israel.  You can even say that we are inspiring them.

The message for Israel is loud and clear: you are on your own, or you will be on your own soon enough.

Are the Israeli people getting it?  Yes.  That’s why they re-elected Binyamin Netanyahu despite considerable pressure from Barack Obama to replace him with a puppet prime minister.

That’s the good news.  The bad news is that things are going to get worse for Israel going forward even if the U.S. elects a pro-Israel president in 2016.

Despite his Iran deal, President Obama still claims to have Israel’s back.  When I hear him say that, I laugh and think about this comment by Gen. George Patton: “I would rather have the Germans in front of me than the French behind me.”

The Democrat Party is notoriously anti-Yahweh.  They proved that when they booed Him during their 2012 nominating convention.

The Democrat Party is the party of perversity.  Democrat candidates for president will say and do anything to win votes in a general election, but once in office, they regress to their base instincts.

Obama’s championing of gay marriage is a good example.  He said that he was vehemently opposed to it while running for office in 2008, but after the election he claims that his thinking changed.

His thinking didn’t change.  To win the presidency in 2008, he had to oppose gay marriage publicly, and he waited until after the 2012 election when he would not have to face the electorate again to push his homosexual agenda.  That’s the way things are done in politics at the national level in the U.S.

The Republican Party’s record on Israel is spotty at best.  George H.W. Bush is responsible for pushing Israel’s back to the wall with the Oslo Accords.  The deal wasn’t finalized until Bill Clinton became president, but Bush is the one who started it.

Since the Oslo Accords were signed, Israel has experienced a spike in terrorist attacks despite efforts to placate the U.S. and Palestinians.  Surrendering Gaza, Hebron, and Bethlehem, for example, to Palestinians didn’t end the violence.  In fact, those peace gestures made things worse.  The violence we are witnessing on the Temple Mount today is part of it.  See “Terrorism Against Israel: Comprehensive Listing of Fatalities (September 1993 – Present)”.

George W. Bush, a staunchly pro-Israel president, is responsible for pressuring Ariel Sharon to unilaterally withdraw from Gaza in 2005.  That opened the door for Muslim Brotherhood affiliated Hamas to set up shop in Gaza and with a cloak of legitimacy to raise money for their cause which is the annihilation of Israel.

There have been two major military confrontations between Israel and Hamas since the Gaza withdrawal—Operation Cast Lead (December 27, 2008 to January 18, 2009) and Operation Protective Edge (July 8 to August 26, 2014).  Hamas is digging tunnels and making plans now for the next one.  See “Shadow of Israel’s pullout from Gaza hangs heavy 10 years on”.

Today’s Republican candidates for president all claim to support Israel.  Candidly, I have serious doubts.  For instance, Ann Coulter, a conservative Republican front person, tweeted this during Wednesday’s debate: “How many f—ing Jews do these people think there are in the United States?”

Coulter was suggesting that the roughly 6 million Jews in the United States are too small as a voting bloc to justify strong Republican Party support for Israel.  Coulter isn’t running for office, but she speaks for lots of rank-and-file Republicans and she has the candidates’ ears.  It’s foolish to believe that she is speaking for herself alone.

Ferreting out the core beliefs of Republican candidates is crucial.  I think Ted Cruz is sincere about his support for Israel, and he has demonstrated a willingness to stand against his party’s leadership in the Senate when they are wrong.  I suspect that several other Republican candidates are genuinely concerned about Israel’s future as well, but not all of them.  We need to know for sure.

Regardless of what we do at the ballot box in 2016, though, the day is rapidly approaching when Israel will have to stand alone.  When that day comes, she will have no choice.  She will have to turn to Yahweh.  He is the Only One Israel can rely on.  Between now and then, many things that look bleak will happen.  It’s a painful part of the process.

This is the bottom line: supporting Israel is in our best interest.  Yahweh promised that He will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel.  As I have said before, people who oppose Israel have no idea who they are up against.

JNi.media: Netanyahu Approves Using Snipers Against Arab Stone Throwers—Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday said that the rules of engagement will be changed in light of numerous stone-throwing incidents on the Temple Mount and elsewhere. He reiterated the need to treat throwers of stones and Molotov cocktails as terrorists. Netanyahu spoke at the inauguration of the railway line from Netivot to Be’er Sheva. The Prime Minister has already approved the initiative of the Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, to use sharpshooters against rioters firing petrol bombs in Jerusalem. Erdan proposed the sharpshooters use Ruger rifles, a highly accurate sporting weapon, using small caliber bullets to reduce the possibility of death. On Tuesday night, security professionals told the prime minister that a planned change of the rules of engagement required more time, but Netanyahu insisted on an immediate plan to change the rules of engagement in the entire Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria areas. He requested imposing severe punishments on stone and firebomb throwers, with very heavy penalties for minors and their parents.

SnyderTalk Comment: While I applaud this move, I am not naïve.  It spells more trouble for Israel in the days ahead, more pressure from the BDS community, and more anti-Semitic acts around the world.

Bottom line: it will hasten the day when Israel has to stand alone.

Jill Colvin: Trump declines to correct man who says Obama is Muslim—Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump declined Thursday to correct a questioner at a town hall event who incorrectly stated that President Barack Obama is Muslim and said he’d be “looking at” claims of terrorist training camps on American soil. Trump, who has a history of making controversial remarks about immigrants and other groups, was kicking off a town hall event in Rochester, New Hampshire — his first since Wednesday evening’s second Republican primary debate. “We have a problem in this country. It’s called Muslims,” said the first man Trump called on to ask a question. “We know our current president is one. You know he’s not even an American.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Good for Trump.

Obama says that he’s a Christian.  I don’t believe him.  You can tell a tree by its fruit.

Obama says that he’s not a Muslim, but his actions betray his words.

Burak Bekdil: Why Do Muslims Flock to The “Evil West”?— “The tragedy of the Palestinians,” Jordan’s (late) King Abdullah wrote in his memoirs, “was that most of their leaders had paralyzed them with false and unsubstantiated promises that they were not alone; that 80 million Arabs and 400 million Muslims would instantly and miraculously come to their rescue.” Decades later, Syrians fleeing the civil war in their homeland make up the backbone of the world’s refugee tragedy. Officially, Muslim Turkey is home to the largest number of Syrian refugees (1.9 million). Lebanon hosts 1.2 million Syrians; Jordan, more than 600,000; and Egypt, over 100,000. That makes nearly four million predominantly Muslim Syrians.

Shlomo Cesana: New order on the Temple Mount— The Temple Mount in Jerusalem is the most volatile place in the world, or at least in the Middle East, people are always saying. If that’s really true, shouldn’t the people entering the gates of the compound undergo security checks like the ones airports conduct before passengers are allowed to board a plane? Isn’t it time to forbid anyone carrying a match from entering this flammable holy site? The hackneyed question asked repeatedly, often in the titles of opinion pieces in the print media, is, “Is the Temple Mount in our hands?” For anyone who is still wondering, the answer is yes. Israel Police officers are stationed at each of the 10 entrances to the Temple Mount. Neither the Muslim Waqf nor any other organization has Vatican-like control over the compound.

Dr. Reuven Berko: The cynical use of Al-Aqsa— The “Palestinian problem” has never been so irrelevant. Throughout the Middle East, tens of thousands of people have been killed and millions have been displaced. Multitudes of refugees are pouring out of the Middle East and Africa toward Europe’s shores, hoping to join the Muslim enclaves that have ominously arisen in European capitals. The illusion that U.N. recognition of the Palestinian flag and the EU’s marking of settlement goods will lead to the establishment of a terrorist state on Israel’s ruins has been washed away by the waves of refugees flooding into Europe. Meanwhile, other artificial Arab nations are crumbling before our very eyes.

Savyon, Y. Carmon, and Y. Mansharof: Iranian Officials Reveal: Secret Negotiations with U.S. Began in 2011—It is evident from statements by top Iranian officials that the U.S. began secret negotiations with Iran in 2011, during the presidency of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. In a June 23, 2015, speech, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said: “The issue of negotiating with the Americans is connected to the term of the previous [Ahmadinejad] government, and to the dispatching of a mediator to Tehran to request talks….[Omani Sultan Qaboos] came to visit me as a mediator, and said explicitly that the American president [Obama] had asked him to come to Tehran and present the Americans’ request for negotiations. The Americans told this mediator: ‘We want to solve the nuclear issue and lift sanctions within six months, while recognizing Iran as a nuclear power.'” In an April 19, 2014, interview, Iranian Atomic Energy Organization director Ali Akbar Salehi, who served as foreign minister under Ahmadinejad, told Iran’s Al-‘Alam TV: “Work on the talks with America began two and a half years ago [during 2011], after obtaining the leader’s approval.”

Julia Hahn: Federal Data: U.S. Annually Admits Quarter Of A Million Muslim Migrants— A Breitbart News review of State Department and Homeland Security data reveals that the United States already admits more than a quarter of a million Muslim migrants each year. President Obama intends to add another 10,000 Syrian migrants on top of that. In 2013 alone, 117,423 migrants from Muslim-majority countries were permanently resettled within the United States— having been given lawful permanent resident status. Additionally in 2013, the United States voluntarily admitted an extra 122,921 temporary migrants from Muslim countries as foreign students and foreign workers as well as 39,932 refugees and asylees from Muslim countries. Thus, twelve years after the September 11th hijackers were invited into the country on temporary visas, the U.S. decided to admit 280,276 migrants from Muslim countries within a single fiscal year. To put these numbers into perspective, this means that every year the U.S. admits a number of Muslim migrants larger in size than the entire population of Des Moines, Iowa; Lincoln, Nebraska; or Dayton, Ohio.

NPR: After Iran Deal Defeat, How Do Pro-Israel Lobbyists Regain Clout?— Nobody on Capitol Hill underestimates the lobbying clout of AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. For six decades – almost since the birth of Israel – AIPAC has presented itself as the deliberately bipartisan, and frequently victorious, voice of American-Israeli unity. It’s maintained this emphasis on bipartisanship even as American views of Israel have grown more partisan. Israel’s politics have turned sharply rightward, and are now much more closely aligned with American Republicans than Democrats. It’s something Steve Rosen couldn’t have imagined when he worked as AIPAC’s foreign policy director from 1982 to 2005. “If AIPAC became a Republican organization it would cease to exist,” he says of his outlook during that time. So here’s AIPAC’s problem: While it’s been walking that bipartisan line – it maintains its board of directors as a mix of Democrats and Republicans – Mideast politics in Washington have become a partisan football.

Rowan Scarborough and Guy Taylor: CIA Watching for Iranian Nuclear Collaboration with North Korea—The CIA and proliferation experts are concerned that Tehran may outsource parts of its nuclear and missile programs to the secretive regime in North Korea. CIA Director John Brennan acknowledgedTuesday his agency is monitoring whether Iran may try to assist its clandestine nuclear program with help from North Korea, or by colluding with Pyongyang toward the secret purchase and transfer of nuclear weapons for Tehran. Experts say the Iran nuclear deal carries no prohibition against North Korea performing Iran’s nuclear arms research. Larry Niksch, a scholar at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee in July: “North Korea may receive upwards of $2 to $3 billion annually from Iran for the various forms of collaboration between them.”

Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik: PA Promotes Rock-Throwing to “Save the Al-Aqsa Mosque”—Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, the official Palestinian Authority daily, has encouraged Palestinians to continue throwing rocks at Israelis and to defend and save the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem. On Wednesday it published a cartoon encouraging children to throw rocks. Recently, PA Chairman Abbas hosted an event for a 12-year-old Palestinian boy who threw rocks at Israeli soldiers. Hafez Al-Barghouti, a columnist for the official PA daily, wrote on July 23, 2015, that rock-throwing “is permitted…since international law permits whoever is under occupation to resist through all possible means.”

Soeren Kern: Germany: Migrants’ Rape Epidemic: “We Are the Biggest Brothel in Munich”— A growing number of women and young girls housed in refugee shelters in Germany are being raped, sexually assaulted and even forced into prostitution by male asylum seekers, according to German social work organizations with first-hand knowledge of the situation. Many of the rapes are occurring in mixed-gender shelters, where, due to a lack of space, German authorities are forcing thousands of male and female migrants to share the same sleeping areas and restroom facilities. Conditions for women and girls at some shelters are so perilous that females are being described as “wild game” fighting off Muslim male predators. But many victims, fearing reprisals, are keeping silent, social workers say.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Exodus 23

1 “You shall not bear a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked man to be a malicious witness. 2 You shall not follow the masses in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after a multitude in order to pervert justice; 3 nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his dispute.”

4 “If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey wandering away, you shall surely return it to him. 5 If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying helpless under its load, you shall refrain from leaving it to him, you shall surely release it with him.”

6 “You shall not pervert the justice due to your needy brother in his dispute. 7 Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I will not acquit the guilty.”

8 “You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of the just.”

9 “You shall not oppress a stranger, since you yourselves know the feelings of a stranger, for you also were strangers in the land of Egypt.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Read His Name is Yahweh.

“You shall not follow the masses in doing evil.”

That’s not hard to understand.  Look at our nation.  Collectively, what are we doing?

“Do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I will not acquit the guilty.”

Are aborted babies innocent?  Of course, they are.

So, in a nutshell, we are following the masses and killing the innocent.  That’s a double whamy.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
