Burak Bekdil—Turkey’s Supposed Nemesis: “The Mastermind”:
- “The Mastermind” is not the product of a bunch of crazy fanatics. It is a calculated move by a bunch of smart politicians who want to win votes from an inherently anti-Semitic, religiously devout Muslim population.
- It is an ugly but clever move, reminiscent of the various methods applied by the Nazi propaganda machine in the 1930s, to abuse millions of minds.
Turkey’s biggest enemy, according to its Islamist rulers, is not the fanatical jihadists who now neighbor their country in large swathes of land in Syria and Iraq; nor is it the thousands of “sleepers” at home — the same jihadists who have not staged a sensational act of terror, but might yet. The enemy is not the political and military advance of Shiite radicals in the region, or a nuclear Iran. It is not extreme left-wing terrorists who only recently murdered a state prosecutor. It is not Russia, China or Western civilization. It is what President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says is “the mastermind” that tirelessly plots against Turkey.
In a December 2014 speech, Erdogan said:
“I am emphasizing this: Do not think that these are operations that target me personally. Do not think that these operations are against our government or any [political] party. My friends, the target of these operations and initiatives is Turkey, Turkey’s existence, her unity, peace, and stability. They are especially against Turkey’s economy and its independence. As I have said before, behind all these there is a Mastermind, which has now become part of our national conversation. Some ask me, ‘Who is this mastermind?’ and I say, ‘It is for you to research this. And you do know what it is, you know who it is.'”

Erdogan is leading Turkey toward what may closely resemble Nazi Germany. Jewish people in Turkey had better take note and get our while they can.
Keep in mind that Jewish people who stayed in Germany thinking that Hitler was just talking to win popular political support and that he didn’t really mean what he was saying were killed and burned.
A major difference between then and now is scary: Israel’s and Yahweh’s enemies have a friend in the White House.

Parisa Hafezi: Iranian general accuses Saudis of following in Israeli footsteps— The commander of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards accused Saudi Arabia on Monday of following in Israel’s footsteps in the Islamic world by carrying out air strikes in Yemen, the official IRNA news agency reported. A Saudi-led alliance began bombing Iranian-allied Houthi militia in Yemen last month, seeing a threat from their advances across the Arabian Peninsula state. Riyadh also wants to restore Yemen’s president, forced into exile by the Houthis. General Mohammad Ali Jafari, commander of Shi’ite Muslim Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards, said Sunni Saudi Arabia – Tehran’s arch regional adversary – was “shamelessly and disgracefully bombing and killing a nation”. “Saudi Arabia is following in the Zionist (Israel) regime’s footsteps in the Islamic world,” Jafari was quoted as saying by IRNA.
SnyderTalk Comment: Jafari made this remark in Ankara, Turkey with Erdogan in tow. The combination of Iran and Turkey against Israel is taking shape under the not-so-watchful eyes of Barack Obama.
I said “not-so-watchful” eyes thus implying no design. Candidly, I don’t believe that. I think Obama is part of a triumvirate. If it were not for political constraints in the U.S., there is no telling what Obama would do.
Don’t forget Russia. Remember what Obama told Medvedev before the 2012 election: “I’ll have more flexibility after the election.” Well, it’s after the election, and we’re witnessing some of what he meant. Part of what he was referring to can’t be seen yet, but all things will become clear in due course.
Josh Rogin: George W. Bush Bashes Obama on Middle East— In a closed-door meeting with Jewish Donors Saturday night, former President George W. Bush delivered his harshest public criticisms to date against his successor on foreign policy, saying that President Barack Obama is being naïve about Iran and the pending nuclear deal and losing the war against the Islamic State. One attendee at the Republican Jewish Coalition session, held at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas with owner Sheldon Adelson in attendance, transcribed large portions of Bush’s remarks. The former president, who rarely ever criticizes Obama in public, at first remarked that the idea of re-entering the political arena was something he didn’t want to do. He then proceeded to explain why Obama, in his view, was placing the U.S. in “retreat” around the world. He also said Obama was misreading Iran’s intentions while relaxing sanctions on Tehran too easily. According to the attendee’s transcription, Bush noted that Iran has a new president, Hassan Rouhani. “He’s smooth,” Bush said. “And you’ve got to ask yourself, is there a new policy or did they just change the spokesman?” Bush said that Obama’s plan to lift sanctions on Iran with a promise that they could snap back in place at any time was not plausible. He also said the deal would be bad for American national security in the long term: “You think the Middle East is chaotic now? Imagine what it looks like for our grandchildren. That’s how Americans should view the deal.”
SnyderTalk Comment: Bush is correct. We are heading for trouble—I think by design. Obama is the man leading the charge, but I think it will become obvious in time that this is part of Divine judgment on the U.S. and the world.
Jonathan Tobin: Another Jewish Charm Offensive Won’t Fix What Obama Has Broken— After several months of insults (chickensh*!t) and threats about re-evaluating U.S. policy, the Obama administration appears to have awakened to the fact that its feud with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has gone too far. As the New York Times reports, the White House is making a conscious effort to play down its anger at the Israeli government, primarily by making nice with American Jewish groups. But what is sounding very much like another edition of the Jewish charm offensive that characterized administration statements about Israel during the year preceding President Obama’s reelection is not going to fix what has been broken by President Obama and his foreign-policy team.
SnyderTalk Comment: So many people get caught up in what Obama says that they pay too little attention to what he does. That’s why they have trouble seeing reality. Obama says one thing and does another. It’s the way carnival hucksters deceive the naïve and take their money.
Obama can’t be trusted. Neither can Hillary Clinton. Obama and Clinton are birds of a feather.
Chuck Norris: Is U.S. enabling a Middle East apocalypse? Part 2— Last week, in Part 1, I detailed how the U.S. nuclear deal with Iran will gravely increase Middle East instability. Despite what American officials think or say, any freshman student of global politics can figure out that Iran will eventually use its nuclear resources to develop a bomb. And when it does, the likelihood of a second Holocaust for the Jewish people will be imminent, if Israel doesn’t execute a pre-emptive strike first. This week, in Part 2, I will describe how the White House is playing into the eschatology plans of ISIS and particularly the Muslim view of the apocalypse. Over the past year, President Obama has referred to ISIS as “not Islamic” and as al-Qaida’s “JV team.” It is nothing short of sheer ignorance to make such statements – and to think that type of confusion is coming from the U.S. commander in chief makes it easy to understand why and how his administration continues to make many significant strategic Middle East errors.
Adam Taylor: Israel’s Iranian Jews worry about the nuclear deal— Few nations have watched the talks over Iran’s nuclear program more closely than Israel, which views the Islamic republic as an existential threat. And within Israel, among those especially unsettled by the idea of a final agreement are Iranian Jews. “We are the Persians,” Avi Hanassab, a cook in a Tel Aviv market where many Iranian Jews sell spices and dried fruit, said darkly. “We know how to negotiate.” Hanassab, like many Israeli Jews with Iranian roots, said he still feels a deep bond with Iran, which his parents left in 1964. Yet, like others in the community, he said he thinks his knowledge of Iran gives him reason to be fearful as an Israeli. “They sent their best negotiators to negotiate with the States and Europe,” he said, adding that the Iranians would surely dupe the world powers. “The Persians are very smart.”
Yaakov Lappin: Defense Minister Ya’alon: “Iran Agreement Will Provide Iranian Regime with Breathing Space”—Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon warned on Sunday against the approaching nuclear deal with Iran, describing the agreement as “bad and dangerous.” “It will provide the Iranian regime with breathing space and international legitimacy. Instead of making things harder for Iran until it stops its nuclear program, the West is allowing it to come back, through the main door, to the family of nations, to be a nuclear threshold state, and to continue to spread terrorism throughout the whole world, including in the countries of the free world, while publicly calling for Israel to be erased from the map.” He also said Iran is in the midst of an effort to arm Hizbullah and Hamas, and that Israel “will not allow the transfer of quality weapons to terrorist organizations, chief among them Hizbullah….We will not allow Iran and Hizbullah to set up terrorist infrastructure on our border with Syria.”
Tony Badran: U.S.-Saudi Differences over Iran Role in Yemen—”Iran is part of the problem in Yemen, not part of the solution,” said Adel al-Jubeir, the Saudi ambassador to the U.S., on Wednesday. Whereas the Saudi goal is to shut Iran out of Yemen, Obama sees Iran as a principal stakeholder. His officials have been in constant communication with the Iranians over Yemen, and have been pushing for a Saudi ceasefire. Much like the Israelis, the Saudis can no longer operate on the assumption that they will receive American support. President Obama seems to believe that by including Iranians in negotiations, he is bringing “equilibrium” to the Middle East. Seen from the perspective of Saudi Arabia and Israel, however, Obama’s doctrine of “equilibrium” emboldens Iran, which – feeling the American wind in its sails – pushes home its advantage. And it leaves America’s allies with no choice but to resist Iran’s expansion – and Obama’s doctrine, which lends it recognition.
Prof. John McMurtry: Planning Chaos in the Middle East: Destruction of Societies for Foreign Money Control— SS/CC: You have said that “the trick of the endless US-led wars in the Middle East is to control both sides so as to ensure against sovereign states able to defend the common interests of their peoples”. Please explain. JM: Whenever any nation has an independent government with fossil fuel, financial, agricultural or strategic resources not yet subjugated to transnational corporate control, there is a US-led campaign to destroy it. Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Egypt, Libya, Syria have all experienced this over many decades dating from the overthrow of the social-democratic president Mossadegh of Iran in 1953 to Syria’s still mildly independent social state being destroyed to the roots today. Lebanon was a civilized center of the Middle East before warred upon by Israel in 1982 and has been civil-war divided ever since. Iraq’s region-leading social state with universal health-care, free higher education, public water and electricity, local agricultural and food subsidies has been subjected to genocidal destruction and civil war imposition from 1990 to now, with Syria being destroyed by foreign-supported civil war from 2011. Once CIA-agent and coup leader Saddam Hussein could not destroy Iraq’s oil-worker-led society from within after his US-supplied war against Iran was over, Iraq was attacked on contrived pretexts – the constant excuse for non-stop war crimes in the Middle-East – and the state was irreversibly destroyed “because it was floating on a sea of oil” (Wolfowitz’s phrase).
SnyderTalk Comment: The desire to control money is part of what is taking place, but it’s only a part. The overarching focus is on controlling the region and the world. Controlling money is a tool to accomplish that objective. Thus, in this instance, following the money takes your eyes off the thing that matters most.

Michael Curtis: Is Amnesty International Anti-Semitic?— In the roster of organizations whose well-meaning objectives have been distorted by bias and prejudicial resolutions, Amnesty International (AI) stands high. For those concerned with human rights, AI is now part of the problem, not part of the solution. It has lost the treasure of a spotless reputation. The stated objective of AI is to work to protect human rights worldwide, and to mobilize the grassroots power of millions of people to effect change. Yet its members refused to approve a text that called on the U.K. government to monitor anti-Semitism closely and periodically review the security of Britain’s Jewish population. A majority of members of AI at its annual general meeting in London on April 19, 2015 thought otherwise. The members, by a vote of 468 to 461, rejected a resolution to campaign against anti-Semitism, and to tackle the rise in anti-Semitic attacks in Britain, whether physical or verbal, online, or in person.
Janine Di Giovanni: Nemesis: First He Fought America. Now He’s Crushing ISIS— Down a dusty backstreet in the Baghdad neighbourhood of Karada this month, I met Sheikh Raad Al Kafaji, a former Iraqi Army officer specialising in artillery, and a veteran fighter from the days of the Iran-Iraq war. He is head of the al Kafaji tribe and a commander in the Kata’ib Hezbollah militia, one of the Shia militias at the forefront of the fight against ISIS in Iraq. After the fall of Mosul in July, Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani issued a religious edict (fatwa) calling on Iraqi “citizens to defend the country, its people, the honor of its citizens, and its sacred places”. That is, to come defend their religion in a holy war against ISIS. Sheikh Raad says that in the initial days after Sistani’s fatwa, men as old as 60 came to his small offices begging to fight to hold back ISIS and Sunni-led insurgents.
Rabbi Benjamin Blech: The Trial of Oskar Groening— Seven decades after the Holocaust, in a small courthouse in Luneburg Germany, a trial that is probably the last of its kind is making headlines around the world. Oskar Groening is being tried on 300,000 counts of accessory to murder, related to a period between May and July 1944 when around 425,000 Jews from Hungary were brought to the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex in Nazi-occupied Poland and almost immediately gassed to death. Groening, known as “the accountant of Auschwitz”, faithfully fulfilled his duty as SS-Unterscharführer, collecting the cash that doomed Hungarian Jews carried with them to the place of their extermination and seeing to its shipment to Berlin to give financial backing to the final solution of genocide. For his role, this now 93-year-old faces 6 to 15 years if convicted. I must make a painful confession. Much as I rejoiced at the capture of Eichmann and his execution in Israel and much as I found a great measure of satisfaction in the past by verdicts of guilt and punishment – admittedly all too few – for those involved in the barbaric crimes of the Holocaust, I am troubled by the rationales now being stressed for the importance of this particular trial.
Samuel Westrop: The Moderate Muslim Stands Alone— On March 6, the Association of Chief Police Officers, a body funded by the Home Office, launched a national campaign named, “We Stand Together,” which called upon British police forces and constabularies across the United Kingdom to bring together local communities to “stand against hate crime and intolerance.” The campaign was apparently a public relations campaign launched in the wake of “recent terrorist attacks in Paris and Denmark, which increased tension in some communities in the UK.” As part of the campaign, local police forces across the country organized events and arranged photo opportunities with Muslim community groups and spokespersons. Unsurprisingly, some of these Muslim partners were part of extremist networks and hard-line religious sects. Time and time again, in the name of “diversity,” officials and the authorities partner with extremists.
SnyderTalk Comment: Also see “The Hague’s Mayor: No Problem with Islamic Extremists”. The Hague mayor may be ignorant or naïve or he could be both. Whatever the case may be, he is wrong—dead wrong.
Tal Trachtman Alroy: Daughter of an Iranian Ayatollah Fights for Peace— Maryam Faghihimani’s childhood was spent in the living room of Ayatollah Khomeini, the Supreme Leader of Iran, where she played with the children of other prominent Iranian ayatollahs. Her father, Faghih Imani, is still a senior ayatollah in Iran and was personally responsible for spreading Khomeini’s message of revolution to mosques and Muslim gatherings around Iran before 1979. Faghihimani was educated in a religious school that served her a steady diet of hatred of Jews—Israel was erased from maps and the Holocaust from all history books. But in her earlier twenties, Faghihimani had an epiphany that radically changed the course of her life, which she’ll share Sunday as keynote speaker at Harvard Business School’s Economic Prosperity for Peace Conference. The youngest of nine children, Faghihimani was a rebellious child. She would find books in the library, such as those about the French Revolution, which she was forbidden from reading; she asked questions that angered her father; and she was so strong-willed that, among her four sisters, she was the first (and only) one to be allowed to attend college before being married off. Unlike her siblings and peers, Faghihimani understood early on that there was a “different window of thinking,” she said.
Vienna University of Technology: Is the universe a hologram?— At first glance, there is not the slightest doubt: to us, the universe looks three dimensional. But one of the most fruitful theories of theoretical physics in the last two decades is challenging this assumption. The “holographic principle” asserts that a mathematical description of the universe actually requires one fewer dimension than it seems. What we perceive as three dimensional may just be the image of two dimensional processes on a huge cosmic horizon.
SnyderTalk Comment: Einstein blew holes in things that we thought we knew. For example, he showed us that time and space are the same thing. That’s a weird thought, but it’s true.
He also proved that past, present, and future are the same. Our perception of time is flawed. Einstein referred to time as we know it as a “stubbornly persistent illusion.”
For instance, Abraham Lincoln died in 1864. John Kennedy died in 1963. Who met Yahweh first?
Answer: they will meet Him at the same time. That’s what Einstein showed us. One more thing, you and I will meet Yahweh with them at the same time.
I’m reminded of this verse: “Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, and the mind of man has not conceived the things that Yahweh has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2: 9)
Don’t underestimate Yahweh. He never fails, and He always tells the truth. Our understanding is very limited for the time being.

SnyderTalk Comment: Is this good news or bad news? It depends on the day and the person doing the patrolling. I’ve met lots of Palestinian security people in Jerusalem. Some of them I trusted and felt comfortable around, others I didn’t.
This is my advice for those of you who plan to visit Israel: whether it’s taxis or police, look for and ask for Jewish people. You can trust them. Palestinians are iffy.
