Why They Hate Us

It’s virtually impossible for decent people, civilized people, to understand the Islamist mind.  Their butchery and savagery are almost beyond description.  They casually do things that make the gratuitous violence that Hollywood produces look like child’s play.

We had better learn to understand the way they think and to believe the things they do and say, because our lives may depend on it.  In an article titled “Why They Behead Us”, Lawrence Siskind addressed the issue:

Daniel Pearl. Nicholas Berg. James Foley. Steven Sotloff.

Four American noncombatants have been beheaded by Islamic fanatics, and the videos of their murders brazenly circulated over the internet for the world to witness. Another Westerner – David Cawthorne Haines, a security expert hired by international aid organizations – faces the same gruesome fate.

Why do they behead us?

The question goes to the method, not the motive, of the madness. Murderers’ motives don’t matter much in the Middle East. In local eyes, there are so many causes to kill for, and so many victims deserving death. But assuming one is inclined to butcher, why do so by the particularly peculiar method of beheading? Why not butcher by shooting, or by hanging, or by detonation?

This is, to put it mildly, a grim inquiry. But it is worth the trouble to explore. For the answer may tell us something about the nature of the evil we face.

Others have asked the same question and come up with their own theories. David Brooks of the New York Times believes Islamic fanatics choose beheading because the act represents a defilement of something sacred: the human body.

This is the fact that every one of us needs to embrace: the problem is real, and it’s coming our way.  If your tendency is to bury your head in the sand, sing Kumbaya, and pretend that problems don’t exit or that they will never reach you personally, you could lose your head, literally.

Far too many people adjust very slowly to changing circumstances, so gradually, in fact, that they put themselves and their families at risk.  If you know someone like that, you need to tell them a few things:

  1. Tinkerbell is an animated Disney character.
  2. There is no Santa Claus.
  3. When you die, you take nothing with you except your spirit and your soul.
  4. Yahweh will not be impressed or entertained when you tell Him how much money you used to have and about the great deal that you just closed. He will be interested in how you lived your life.
  5. Avoiding conflict and ignoring personal responsibilities can be costly in this life and in the next.
  6. Last but not least, Islamists hate you and want to kill you because of who you are and what you believe.  It’s as simple as that. They even hate each other, so you had better get ready.

If mass violence erupts in the U.S., there will be pandemonium, so you had better prepare now.  If it happens, there will be no time for preparation.

In Ferguson, Missouri, we recently witnessed something like the kind of violence that I’m talking about.  But that was minor compared to what can happen under the right conditions—a “Perfect Storm” so to speak when multiple forces come together simultaneously.

Under the right conditions, we will see things in the U.S. that no one has ever seen before.  It could happen, and the probability of it happening today is much greater than it was just 6 years ago.

Thankfully, Americans are beginning to wake up to reality.  For that, we owe President Obama a tip of the hat, because his ineptitude brought about the change.

This is the bottom line: you should prepare for what might happen and pray that it doesn’t happen.  It’s like buying life insurance or health insurance.  A small investment now can mean a lot down the road, and it’s better to safe than sorry.

IPT News: Obama’s “not Islamic” Islamic State Claim Ridiculed— President Obama’s assertion Wednesday night that the Islamic State terrorist group “is not ‘Islamic'” is drawing derision from a number of quarters. The claim, also made by Obama’s predecessors, is “preposterous,” Daniel Pipes wrote for the National Review Online. “To state the obvious: As non-Muslims and politicians, rather than Muslims and scholars, they are in no position to declare what is Islamic and what is not.” Author Sam Harris, an atheist who challenges all religions, went further, dismissing Obama’s argument as a “scrim of pretense and delusion.” “Which will come first, flying cars and vacations to Mars, or a simple acknowledgment that beliefs guide behavior and that certain religious ideas—jihad, martyrdom, blasphemy, apostasy—reliably lead to oppression and murder?” Harris wondered in an essay. “It may be true that no faith teaches people to massacre innocents exactly—but innocence, as the President surely knows, is in the eye of the beholder. Are apostates ‘innocent’? Blasphemers? Polytheists? Islam has the answer, and the answer is ‘no.'” But Obama’s argument echoes statements made by Muslim American leaders during a news conference Wednesday morning. “All of this is against the foundation and teaching of Islam,” former Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) President Mohamed Magid told reporters. He also is a member of the president’s Homeland Security Advisory Council.

Col. (ret.) Dr. Jacques Neriah: The Islamic State’s Priorities—The Islamic State has become the strongest, most ferocious, best funded and best armed militia in the religious and ethnic war that is waged today in Syria and Iraq. Its first priority is to wage “ethnic cleansing” to eliminate any potential foes and opposition as well as to observe its religious creed. Phase Two involves Islamic education according to the Islamic State philosophy. It is absolutely forbidden to teach art, music, civics, sociology, history, sports, philosophy, and psychology. There should be no mention of the nation-state, Syria, nor the word “homeland.” IS has been so successful in creating an atmosphere of hatred against all “heretics” and all that Western civilization represents that it has succeeded to attract thousands of foreign and Arab volunteers to abandon previous allegiances and apply to its ranks. The structures being established indicate that even if the actual leaders of IS are killed, the system has created a succession procedure that will allow it to survive, just like al-Qaeda.

Malcolm Lowe: Evaluating Mahmoud Abbas – And How to Relate to Him— Everything has now gone wrong for Abbas. The destruction in Gaza matches the destruction of the Second Intifada, precisely what Abbas deplored in respect of Arafat. Hamas exploited the formation of the unity government for a scheme to overthrow Abbas in the West Bank. Haniyeh is projected to defeat him by 61% to 32% in the upcoming election for the Palestinian presidency. Israeli politicians who propose to renew peace negotiations, with Abbas or whomever, are advised to make two basic stipulations. First, that Israel will negotiate only with a Palestinian government that officially recognizes its obligation to demilitarize Gaza. Second, that no agreements can be signed until the Palestinians hold the projected elections for their parliament and presidency — and the outcome is known.

Amos Yadlin: Dealing with Hamas’ Military Force Reconstruction— While Hamas accepted the ceasefire with virtually none of its many demands met, Israel, for its part, did not succeed in imposing on the terrorist organization one of the central demands presented by Prime Minister Netanyahu as an objective of the operation: the demilitarization of Gaza and the establishment of mechanisms that would deny Hamas the ability to reconstruct its force. However, the latter goal, disregarded after previous rounds of fighting, must be central to Israel’s demands in the negotiations on a long term arrangement. The issue of Hamas’ force reconstruction must be brought back to center stage in the post-Operation Protective Edge era. The strategy now taking shape must ensure that any future military round against Hamas is postponed as much as possible, with Hamas’ strategic arsenal comprising capabilities Israel knows and for which it already has appropriate operational responses.

Samuel Westrop: Britain’s Hamas Appeal— In early August, most of Britain’s broadsheet newspapers published a full-page advertisement for a “Gaza crisis” appeal launched by the Disasters Emergency Committee [DEC], a British charity that serves as a fundraising body for its 13-member bodies, each one itself a prominent British charity. Broadcast versions were also aired on major television channels, including the taxpayer-funded BBC television and radio stations. On August 15th, DEC announced the appeal had raised over £9 million. Although DEC claims to use the appeal’s funds “to reach hundreds of thousands of people with urgently needed food and safe drinking water,” DEC does not provide these charitable services itself; it simply raises the funds. The money is then handed over to its 13 member-bodies, which are tasked with actually providing the humanitarian help.

Mortimer B. Zuckerman: Finally, a Glimmer of Hope for Peace— Gaza is Groundhog Day. Again. Like Bill Murray in the eponymous movie, we are caught in a time loop, condemned to repeat the same experience from dawn to midnight, day after day. For months, Hamas fires rockets into Israel in pursuit of its charter to kill Jews, taking its cue from the diabolical words of Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: “Israel’s annihilation is the only real cure.” Nobody remembers his command, nobody recalls the words in the Hamas charter. The rockets landing in Israel evoke no resolutions at the U.N. General Assembly. The rent-a-mob protesters of violence are nowhere to be seen on the streets of Paris and London. Finally, Israel retaliates. The world wakes up. It’s outraged. It screams about Israel’s “disproportionate” response. No one considers what might be a nation’s “proportionate” response to an enemy dedicated to exterminating every one of its citizens. Israel has exactly the opposite ethic. It risks its military to limit collateral damage, unprecedented in the history of warfare.

Louis René Beres: Undermining Justice: Israel-Hamas Cease-Fire Breaches International Law— Once again, Israel and Hamas have agreed upon a so-called “cease fire.” Once again, as Hamas regards all of Israel as “Occupied Palestine,” the agreement will inevitably fail. And once again, for Israel and the wider “international community,” there will be significantly dark consequences for international justice. In specifically jurisprudential terms, the immediate effect of this latest cease-fire will be wrongfully to bestow upon the leading Palestinian terror organization (1) a generally enhanced position under international law; and (2) a status of formal legal equivalence with Israel, its beleaguered terror target. The longer-term effect will be seriously to undermine the legitimacy and effectiveness of international law itself.

Shoshana Bryen: The Conditions of Victory and Peace—How do you defeat an armed ideological movement with a territorial base if you are unwilling to fight in that base? Neither Israelis nor Americans are prepared to control enemy territory as a means to determine the ultimate outcome. But that means there will be no destruction, no elimination of the enemy; no “victory.” Control of territory and the ability to subject one’s enemies to enforceable rules are the only known mechanisms for ending, rather than managing, a war. The U.S. has been in South Korea since the 1953 Armistice, allowing a democratic, technologically advanced society to emerge. The withdrawal of American forces from South Vietnam allowed North Vietnam to capture the territory.

Veli Sirin: Turkish President Erdoğan’s Expansive Ambitions— Erdoğan is apparently determined to impose a new political system on Turkey, replacing the parliamentary order with a state under a powerful president. The constitution authorizes the president to call a cabinet meeting under certain circumstances. Otherwise, the president has no executive authority. “[T]housands of children whose parents preferred secular institutions have been allocated places at Islamic schools.” — Daniel Dombey, Financial Times. Abuses of power will likely continue in Erdoğan’s Turkey.

Dexter Van Zile: Pro-Christian Conference Descends Into Anti-Israel Bigotry— Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) got a heavy dose of Middle Eastern hospitality during his keynote address at the gala dinner hosted by In Defense of Christians on Wednesday night. When the senator stated an obvious fact – that the same people who murder Christians in the Middle East also hate America, Jews and Israel – gala attendees erupted in protest, booed the senator, a well-known proponent of Christian rights and religious freedom in the Middle East, and called on him to leave the stage. Cruz acceded to their request, but not before giving a blistering retort to their hostility: “If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews, then I will not stand with you. Good night and God bless.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Good for Senator Cruz.  He did exactly what he should have done.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Genesis 29: 13-14

13 So when Laban heard the news of Jacob his sister’s son, he ran to meet him, and embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his house. Then he related to Laban all these things. 14 Laban said to him, “Surely you are my bone and my flesh.” And he stayed with him a month.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
