Christian Love for Israel Isn’t Optional—It’s Required

I read an article in Algemeiner by Yael Eckstein titled “Christian Messages of Love for Israel”.  I hope that you will take the time to read it.  This is how it begins:

When I was growing up, I knew that there were individuals – and even entire countries – who hated Israel and the Jewish people because of our faith.

I learned about the Holocaust at a young age from my grandfather, a German Holocaust survivor. I remember, as a young child in Chicago, watching the news with my parents and seeing reports of terrorist acts being committed against Israel by her enemies. But I was fortunate that, unlike many Jewish children, I was also taught that we are loved and supported by millions of our Christian brethren. As we celebrate Israel’s Independence Day, it is critical to remember these people who speak loudly and bravely in unity with the Jewish people. Simply put, they are Israel’s greatest ally and friend.

I’m not Yahweh so I can’t “judge”, but He told us to discern.  That’s what I am doing.  Candidly, I don’t see how anyone who is really a Christian can be opposed to Israel, and I think that anti-Semitic behavior is from Satan.

How can I think otherwise?  Just look at the promises that Yahweh made concerning the Promised Land: Yahweh’s Promises Concerning the Promised Land.

In fact, the Promised Land is called the Promised Land because Yahweh promised it to Abraham and his descendants through Isaac and Jacob/Israel.  His promises center on Israel and the Jewish people, and that’s why they are referred to as the “Chosen People”.

There is no getting around the fact that Yahweh promised the Promised Land to Abraham and his descendants through Isaac and Jacob/Israel.  Therefore, I believe that taking sides against the “Chosen People” (especially those in Israel) isn’t just foolish.  It is dangerous.

Yahweh also told Abraham that He would bless those who bless him and curse those who curse him. (Genesis 12: 3)  That promise applies to Abraham and his descendants through Isaac and Jacob/Israel as well. Therefore, taking sides against Israel is not just dangerous; it is suicidal.  How can you draw any other conclusion if you believe the Bible and call yourself a Christian?

When Yahweh grafted Gentiles into the family of Israel, He did not renege on any of His previous promises.  He simply applied them to people who were not born Jewish if they have faith in Him.

Having faith in Yahweh ultimately means bringing your thinking into alignment with Yahweh’s thinking and following the leading of His Spirit.  I don’t believe that it is possible for a Christian to read what the Bible says about the rebirth of Israel and conclude that it is okay to take sides against Israel.  I think that the same holds true for demonstrating anti-Semitic behavior or even for harboring anti-Semitic thoughts.  I don’t think that real Christians can do either of those things because they are diametrically opposed to Yahweh’s plan that is spelled out so clearly in the Bible.

This is the bottom line: I think that Christian love for Israel isn’t optional—it’s required.  I also believe that we are entering a time when Yahweh is going to test people who call themselves Christians and that He will use support for Israel and Jewish people as the dividing line between those who have saving faith, real faith, and those who are just pretending.  People who simply pretend to have faith may impress their family and friends, but fake faith won’t pass muster with Yahweh and it won’t get you into heaven.  In fact, it’s the road to hell.

That realization more than anything else, is what led to my book His Name is Yahweh and SnyderTalk.  I hope that you have read the book and that you are reading SnyderTalk daily.  You should share both of them with your family and friends.  I believe the day is coming, probably sooner than a lot of people think, when support for Israel and Jewish people will be absolutely crucial because, as I said, both are central to Yahweh’s Master plan.

Alexander H. Joffe: Why Negotiations Collapsed – American Perceptions and Future Indications— Effective foreign policy requires a balance between the predictable and the unpredictable. Alliances require careful maintenance and no surprises while adversarial relationships sometimes require unpredictable responses. It is the unique gift of the Obama administration to have reversed this equation. The collapse of peace negotiations was wholly predictable and has finally taken place. Efforts are now being made to assign blame and exert pressure on the parties. In a series of off the record interviews with Israeli newspapers, unnamed American officials involved in the negotiations have quite predictably put most of the blame on Israel. Careful reading, however, reveals more about America than it does Israelis or Palestinians.

Ted Belman: Negotiations were rigged from the start— The mask is off.  The US officials sympathize with Abbas and blame Israel’s settlement construction as the cause of the failure of the talks. They warn that Palestine will rise ‘whether through violence or via int’l organizations’ which is another way of saying that the US won’t veto the recognition of Palestine in the SC and will recognize them as a state contrary to the requirements of the Montevideo Conventions.

Jerold Auerbach: If Not Peace Now, When?— Israeli journalist Ari Shavit has abruptly shifted into reverse gear – for the second time in a week. Writing in Haaretz (April 24), he revisited his misguided faith in “peace now” under Palestinian negotiator Mahmoud Abbas from 1997-2014. “People as steadfast as us,” he wrote, “don’t give up on our dreams.” Repeatedly blaming Prime Minister Netanyahu and his Likud party for the failures of the no-peace process, he evidently did not comprehend until last month that Palestinians (paraphrasing Abba Eban’s memorable observation) never missed the opportunity to miss an opportunity for peace.

Valentina Colombo: The Muslim Brotherhood and Terrorist Organizations— A new terror group, Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis [ABM], just officially entered the scene. Both the U.S. State Department and the British government included it, at the beginning of April, in their list of proscribed terrorist organizations. The United Kingdom justified its decision as follows: “ABM is an Al Qa’ida inspired militant Islamist group based in the northern Sinai region of Egypt. The group is said to recruit within Egypt and abroad and aims to create an Egyptian state ruled by Sharia law. ABM is assessed to be responsible for a number of attacks on security forces in Egypt since 2011. The attacks appear to have increased since the overthrow of the Morsi government in July 2013. The group’s reach goes beyond the Sinai, with the group claiming responsibility for a number of attacks in Cairo and cross-border attacks against Israel. ABM has undertaken attacks using vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices and surface-to-air missiles. Examples of attacks for which the group has claimed responsibility include: an attack on the Egyptian Interior Minister in which a UK national was seriously injured (September, 2013); an attack on a police compound in Mansoura, killing at least 16 people, including 14 police officers (December 24, 2013), and an attack on a tourist bus in which three South Koreans and their Egyptian driver died (January 16, 2014).”

Thomas Saether: Surprise Attack on Iran: Can Israel Do It?— Complex military operations require lengthy preparations that cannot be concealed. However, although an adversary might know about the intention to attack, the timing and conduct of the operation are more difficult to dissect. In recent years, the Israeli military has conducted numerous offensive exercises to prepare for a potential green light from the political leadership. Two recent exercises demonstrating the capabilities of the Israeli air force took place in December 2013 and January 2014. Such exercises do not only prepare the pilots for a potential mission, it may also serve as part of a deception strategy. For several years prior to the Six Day War in 1967, Israeli aircraft could routinely be seen in the mornings hovering over the Mediterranean. As the Egyptians became familiar with the flight pattern, its air force did not pay much attention when Israeli planes followed the same route on the morning of June 5, 1967. The Israelis then launched a surprise attack. The trick used was to manipulate the adversary’s perceptions and expectations.

Jamie Glazov: Islam, Slavery and Rape— Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Bill Warner, the director of the Center for the Study of Political Islam (CSPI) and spokesman forpoliticalislam.com. CSPI’s goal is to teach the doctrine of political Islam through its books and it has produced an eleven book series on political Islam. Mr. Warner did not write the CSPI series, but he acts as the agent for a group of scholars who are the authors. The Center’s latest book is The Submission of Women and Slaves, Islamic Duality. FP: Bill Warner, welcome back to Frontpage Magazine. This is the second part in our two-part series with you on the Center’s most recent book. In the first part we discussed Islam and its doctrine on the submission of women. In this second and final part we will discuss the matter of slavery. Warner: It is a pleasure to work with Frontpage. FP: So tell us in general where Islam stands on slavery.

Meir Elran and Alex Altshuler: Closing the Home Front Defense Ministry— Home Front Defense Minister Gilad Erdan’s letter of resignation and his recommendation that the ministry be closed and its powers transferred to the Defense Ministry will apparently lead to the end of yet another sad story in Israel’s attempts to construct a system that can best cope with the serious threats to the civilian front. The core of the problem is that unlike with the military front, where there is a clear hierarchy as well as clarity and general consent as to who is responsible on each level, there is no such structure for the civilian front. The closure of the ministry provides another opportunity for creative thinking and bold decision making on this critical issue. It would now perhaps be appropriate to consider a new organizational template, one that would not aspire to full and probably impossible centralization, but would attempt to construct a more flexible system, decentralized but orderly and acceptable to all the relevant entities.

Michael Curtis: Unconscious Racism against Black Women?— Recent events suggest that some inherent if unconscious racism still exists among some faculty and students at American universities. It is certainly noticeable that two courageous black women should have been slighted by two major universities both of which portray themselves as supporters of diversity. It is ironic since both women have risen above the difficult circumstances of their early lives to high levels of accomplishment.

Daniel Greenfield: America’s Red Guard— As the 50th anniversary of the Cultural Revolution approaches some of the former students who participated in its Red Guard terror have been trying to make amends to their victims. If China’s former leftist fanatics feel some remorse for the atrocities they participated in, the same can’t be said of their American counterparts. Even as the Cultural Revolution was dying down in China, it flared up in the United States. The Weather Underground drew inspiration from China’s Red Terror. Their founding manifesto cited the Red Guard as a model for a “mass revolutionary movement.”

Sierra Rayne: Global Cooling Underway— With global temperature data now available for the first three months of 2014, an interesting trend has clearly emerged: global cooling. No longer is it just a hypothesis.  For the first quarter of each calendar year since 2002, it is effectively a fact at reasonably strong statistical significance.  Here is the data.

SnyderTalk Comment: Separating fact from fiction is something that members of the Global Warming Society can’t do.  Regrettably their membership is large, far too large, and they don’t care how much damage they have to do to win the hearts and minds of the ignorant and intellectually challenged among us.

The data is clear: the globe is cooling, not warming.  WAKE UP AMERICA!

Words of Wisdom: The fool has said in his heart, “But it was almost 90 degrees yesterday.”

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Genesis 6: 9-12

9 These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God. 10 Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. 11 Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
