Yahweh’s Word would Still be True Even if No One Believed It

A while back, I read a disturbing statistic.  According to a Gallup poll, fewer than 30 percent of Americans believe that the Bible is the word of Yahweh.  Since Yahweh gave us the Scriptures to direct our path toward Him, the fact that more than 70 percent of the people in this so-called “Christian nation” say that they do not believe His word is scary.  If they don’t believe Yahweh’s word, how can they believe in Him?  I don’t think they can regardless of what they say.

About 40 years ago, I heard a preacher deliver a sermon titled “God said it; I believe it; and that makes it so.”   Later, I remember thinking that something was wrong with that message, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.  Then it dawned on me that Yahweh saying it makes it so and that my believing what He said has no bearing on the truth of His word.  Yahweh’s word would still be true even if no one believed it.

The accuracy of Yahweh’s word has been proven so many times that I am almost embarrassed to make another case for its truthfulness, but as I said, most people in our so-called “Christian nation” don’t believe it despite the evidence.  From ancient sites in Israel that people had claimed were only make-believe to the oceans of water under terra firma that until just a few days ago scientists didn’t believe existed to the formation of humans from dust, the facts scream that Yahweh exists and that His word is spot on.

I have a very strong hunch that few of the people who reject Yahweh’s word have ever read it, so they aren’t really rejecting His word; they are rejecting Him.  And since they don’t read newspapers, watch television news, or listen to the news on radio, they aren’t likely to come across facts that challenge their opinions.  I guess we’ll have to wait for Oprah and Jay Leno and David Letterman and Jon Stewart and other celebrity talkers to make the case for the accuracy of Yahweh’s word before most of the unbelievers will even hear the facts.

Yahweh is not an abstract idea or a theological concept.  He is the Sovereign of the universe and the Creator.  Those facts were substantiated yet again a few days ago.  In a Times of Israel article titled “With new Big Bang evidence, ‘creation is a fact’”, David Shamah wrote:

Whether or not it was God who did the creating is one question that will probably never be resolved — but that there was a creation event is indisputable. The announcement Monday that researchers had discovered further evidence of the “Big Bang” theory of the world’s creation “isn’t going to make anyone who wasn’t a believer in God into one, or vice-versa,” physics Professor Nathan Aviezer of Bar Ilan University told the Times of Israel.

“But one thing the announcement does do is make it clear that the universe had a definite starting point — a creation — as described in the Book of Genesis,” said Aviezer. “To deny this now is to deny scientific fact.”

Monday’s announcement said that a team of American scientists led by astronomer John M. Kovac had found conclusive evidence for the existence of gravitational waves — gigantic ripples in the fabric of space-time that are caused by the sudden movement of large masses, sort of like the ripples that are created when a stone is thrown into a body of water. The existence of the waves was predicted by Albert Einstein as part of the theory of general relativity, with the waves indicating that there was a time when what would become the universe — a concentrated ball of light — “exploded” into something bigger, when it was only about a trillionth of a trillionth of a trillionth (10 to the minus 35) seconds old.

Those gravitational waves confirm beyond the shadow of a doubt that the Big Bang happened….

The Big Bang Theory can be explained very simply: in the beginning there was nothing and it exploded and became everything.  That’s exactly what the Big Bang Theory postulates, and it makes no sense unless there is a driving force behind it all who has a plan and a purpose.

Who might that be?  There aren’t many possibilities.  In fact, there is only one possibility that makes sense: there is a Creator and His Name is Yahweh, and as I said, He gave us His word to lead us toward Him.

I strongly disagree with one thing that Shamah said.  He said, “Whether or not it was God who did the creating is one question that will probably never be resolved….”  Well, it will be resolved once and for all so that no one will be in doubt, and Yahweh will take care of it Himself.  Regrettably for unbelievers, when that day comes, it will be too late.

I like the way that C.S. Lewis explained it in his book Mere Christianity:

When that happens (when Yahweh returns), it is the end of the world.  When the author walks on to the stage the play is over.  God is going to invade, all right: but what is the good of saying you are on His side then, when you see the whole natural universe melting away like a dream and something else—something it never entered your mind to conceive—comes crashing in; something so beautiful to some of us and so terrible to others that none of us will have any choice left?  For this time it will be God without disguise; something so overwhelming that it will strike either irresistible love or irresistible horror into every creature.  It will be too late then to choose your side.  There is no use saying you choose to lie down when it has become impossible to stand up.  That will not be the time for choosing: it will be the time when we discover which side we really have chosen, whether we realised it before or not.  Now, to-day, this moment, is our chance to choose the right side.  God is holding back to give us that chance.  It will not last forever.  We must take it or leave it.

I wrote a book that you will find very interesting: His Name is Yahweh.  I hope you will take the time to read it.  It presents biblical evidence proving that the Name Yahweh is crucial, especially now since we are being told by political and religious leaders that we all worship the same god. That’s not true, and you need to know it. (Click here to watch a video dealing with this issue.)

Jeffrey Goldberg: Obama Must Be Blunt with Abbas, Too—A couple of weeks ago, President Obama laid out for me his view of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s responsibilities in ongoing peace talks. My hope is that Obama will pressure Palestinian President Abbas to meet Netanyahu halfway on the issue of recognition of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people. Abbas is opposed to offering such recognition: If Jews indeed have a connection to Palestine, then the mainstream Palestinian Arab narrative – that Zionism is a foreign, colonialist ideology, and not the movement of a people returning to its home – gets blown apart. (It’s astonishing that after 60 years of Israel’s existence people are still arguing about whether it is the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people.)

Abraham Cooper: Four Things Obama Should Have Told Abbas— On Yom Kippur, 1972, I was standing alongside a Soviet Jewish dissident outside Moscow’s lone synagogue when we were suddenly surrounded by KGB agents. Sensing my alarm, the refusenik sought to disarm my fear with some vintage Soviet humor. “In the Socialist Paradise,” he said with a nod toward the plainclothes men, “the workers make believe they worked and the State make believes they paid them.” That one-liner keeps coming to mind when trying to figure out if Secretary of State John Kerry’s tenacious and tedious struggle to create an agreed-upon “framework” for Israeli/Palestinian peace is real or just another expensive Middle East mirage.

Ruthie Blum: For Abbas, peace is treason— In his meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama on Monday, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas behaved like someone’s doing his host a big favor by simply showing up. Obama didn’t seem to mind. But then, he has grown accustomed to being treated like a flunky by world leaders who no longer fear American power. Abbas, too, has become used to a few things. Chief among these is his image as a moderate. This would seem to be no small feat, considering the vitriol and violence that characterizes the society on whose behalf he is ostensibly negotiating independent statehood. He has lots of help, however, in the form of willful ignorance and political agendas on the parts of many players on the world stage.

Ishaan Tharoor: It’s Not Just Putin: Russia’s Obsession With Crimea Is Centuries-Old—The opening ceremony at the Sochi Winter Olympics included a cinematic montage of the Russian history. Its first scene depicted a group of bearded Greeks on an oared galley, rowing through dark waters. They come ashore by an empty expanse of land and triumphantly establish their settlement: this, the viewer is supposed to understand, is the founding moment of Russian civilization. Where was this hallowed ground? Crimea—the Black Sea peninsula in the eye of a geopolitical storm right now.

Martin Chulov: Controlled by Iran, the Deadly Militia Recruiting Iraq’s Men to Die in Syria—Each day for the past nine months, the bodies have been coming to the Valley of Peace cemetery in Najaf, Iraq. The men were killed in Syria, where they fought under the green flag of the Middle East’s most potent new Shia Islamic political force, Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq (League of the Righteous). The militia has been busy readying for the afterlife, buying up more than 2,500 square meters of burial plots and erecting shrines for its fallen.

Mark Clayton: Iran Emerging as a Major Cyber-Power—Iranian cyber-spying on U.S. military and energy networks has surged, U.S. experts say. Iran was fingered last fall for infiltrating the U.S. Navy Marine Corps Intranet, as well as for massive cyber-attacks that hammered Wall Street bank websites repeatedly for about a year. Iran was suspected to have been behind a computer virus that wrecked 30,000 Saudi Aramco computers in 2012. A similar attack hit RasGas, a Qatari energy company, that same year.

Adam Levick: Guardian Interviewer is Incredulous at Scarlett Johansson’s Refusal to Cave to BDS Bullies— In a 2,700 word March 16 cover story about Scarlett Johansson – titled “In Alien Territory” –  published at The Observer (sister publication of the Guardian), roughly 600 words deal with the row involving the actress’s decision to step down as Oxfam ambassador after the NGO criticized her for becoming global brand ambassador for SodaStream. While Johansson acquitted herself quite well in the interview, conducted by Carole Cadwalladr, what most stands out is how even their media group’s culture critics automatically become experts on the Israeli-Palestinian issue, and adopt the Guardian narrative about the conflict.

Dr. Reuven Berko: Abbas vs. Fatah ‘traitors’— Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ speech at the 13th convention of the Fatah Revolutionary Council in Ramallah, given just before he left for the United States, offered a review of the Palestinian leadership’s success in maintaining its interests since the death of Yasser Arafat, despite what Abbas called attempts by traitors and foreign powers and militaries to force its hand. Abbas, 79, portrayed himself as the mature and loyal leader of the Palestinian people, who was leaving for the U.S. with the backing of the Arab League and was determined to offer no concessions on Jerusalem, the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state or the issue of the right of return, despite the “dubious pressures” facing him.

Michael Curtis: Are All Boycotters of Israel Anti-Semitic?— It is regrettable but now necessary to ask two questions.  The first: are all those individuals, whatever their religious origin, political beliefs, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or nationality, who are in favor of some form of boycott of Israel, anti-Semites, haters of Jews? The second: are those international bodies, so-called charity organizations, ill-informed academic groups, biased and bigoted mainstream churches, and trade unions who are critical of Israel equally critical of other countries for allegedly similar actions or non-actions? By now, almost everyone is conscious of the existence of anti-Jewish sentiments and actions for centuries. Sometimes, anti-Semitism has been based on religious considerations, sometimes on supposed biological differences, sometimes on alleged negative attributes or patterns ascribed to Jews. The result has been relentless civic and political discrimination, second-class citizenship, physical attacks, harassment, property losses, persecution, pogroms, and the Holocaust.

Elliott Abrams: The mirage of Egyptian stability— The usual argument for supporting the new military regime in Egypt is the same as the argument that was used for supporting the Mubarak regime, right up until it fell: Egypt needs stability. Then-U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Egypt “stable” just two weeks before Hosni Mubarak was overthrown.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Zechariah 14: 6-8

In that day there will be no light; the luminaries will dwindle. For it will be a unique day which is known to Yahweh, neither day nor night, but it will come about that at evening time there will be light. And in that day living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
