A Country Called “Palestine” Never Existed and It Never Should Exist

More than a decade ago, Yashiko Sagamori wrote an article titled “Who are the Palestinians?”.  In it, she ripped to shreds the claim by so-called “Palestinians” and their supporters that a country called “Palestine” ever existed:

If you are so sure that “Palestine, the country, goes back through most of recorded history,” I expect you to be able to answer a few basic questions about that country of Palestine:

  1. When was it founded and by whom?
  2. What were its borders?
  3. What was its capital?
  4. What were its major cities?
  5. What constituted the basis of its economy?
  6. What was its form of government?
  7. Can you name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat?
  8. Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence, at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation?
  9. What was the language of the country of Palestine?
  10. What was the prevalent religion of the country of Palestine?
  11. What was the name of its currency? Choose any date in history and try and find the approximate exchange rate of the Palestinian monetary unit against the US dollar, German mark, British pound, Japanese yen, or Chinese yuan on that date.
  12. Have the Palestinians left any artifacts behind?
  13. Do you know of a library where one could find a work of Palestinian literature produced before 1967?
  14. And, finally, since there is no such country today, what caused its demise and when did it occur?

If you are lamenting the “low sinking” of “a once proud” nation, then please tell me, when exactly was that “nation” proud and what was it so proud of?

And here is the least sarcastic question of all: If the people you mistakenly call “Palestinians” are anything but generic Arabs collected from all over – or thrown out of – the Arab world, if they really have a genuine ethnic identity that gives them right for self-determination, why did they never try to become independent until Arabs suffered their devastating defeat by Israel in the 1967 Six Day War?

An intelligent person who knows anything about world history would have to admit that there never was a country called “Palestine”.  Since “Palestine” is the figment of the overactive imaginations of morbidly uninformed people, you have to wonder why the United States is leading the charge right now to create a Palestinian state—especially since the Arab nations surrounding Israel from which most of the so-called “Palestinians” come have never taken steps to form an independent nation for the unruly mob that we call “Palestinians”.

Below is a picture that shows Israel before the Six-Day War in 1967:

0 ST Editorial Picture 3

Until 1967, the West Bank was under Jordan’s control and the Gaza Strip was under Egypt’s control.  Nothing prevented Egypt and Jordan from creating a Palestinian state except the desire.  It wasn’t until after the Six-Day War that creating a Palestinian state became a pressing issue.

Why?

The answer is simple.  Israel won the Six-Day War and took control of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip plus the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights.  Disheartened by their humiliating defeat, Yasser Arafat and a band of malcontents that no country wanted, including their Arab brothers, decided to pursue another option, one that didn’t involve a war with Israel that they believed they couldn’t win.

They launched a propaganda campaign along with terrorist acts that were designed to attract the attention of uninformed people around the world in an effort to convince them that Israel should surrender land to a heretofore nonexistent nation called “Palestine” as a step toward the eventual destruction of Israel.  To augment their disingenuous narrative for today’s audience, they argue that the roughly 8 million Jews living in Israel are bullying the roughly 300 million Arabs surrounding them—particularly the “Palestinians”.  Regrettably, they have been very successful.

It sounds ludicrous because you would think that people can’t be that ignorant and gullible, but it’s true.  If you think I’m exaggerating, consider what Yasser Arafat said on the very day that he signed the Oslo Peace Accords:

“Since we cannot defeat Israel in war we do this in stages.  We take any and every territory that we can of Palestine, and establish sovereignty there, and we use it as a springboard to take more.  When the time comes, we can get the Arab nations to join us for the final blow against Israel.” (Yasser Arafat speaking on Jordanian television, September 13, 1993)

That wasn’t the first time that Arafat revealed his true motives.  In 1980, he said this:

“Peace for us means the destruction of Israel.  We are preparing for an all-out war, a war which will last for generations.  Since January 1965, when Fatah was born, we have become the most dangerous enemy that Israel has….We shall not rest until the day when we return to our home, and until we destroy Israel.” (El Mundo, Caracas, Venezuela, February 11, 1980)

Nothing substantive has changed since then except for the unbridled lust of today’s global leaders including the President of the United States to create a nation bordering Israel that’s made up mostly of crooks and thieves who are committed to Israel’s total annihilation.  If you were writing a suspense novel, you couldn’t come up with a more inconceivable plot line.

Interestingly, thousands of years ago Yahweh told us what would happen, and it’s in the Bible.  You should read it.  He also told us Who wins in the end, and it’s not those who side with Israel’s enemies.  They are trying to thwart Yahweh’s plans, and they are destined to fail.  You should give that some serious consideration before you brazenly declare your support for “Palestine” because there are terrifying consequences for rejecting Yahweh’s promises and for supporting those who devote themselves to preventing His promises from coming true.

Dan Margalit: Après Obama le déluge— Four days ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe (Bogie) Ya’alon were surprised to learn, during U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit, that the West was planning to unfreeze some $3 billion held in American banks to give to Iran. On Friday, it emerged that the Americans were willing to make even bigger concessions — they are ready to gradually lift various economic sanctions. Netanyahu warned of a “bad deal,” even a terrible one. France shares his view, and possibly the American Congress as well. Britain understands the problem, but the British government has already suffered embarrassment — on the Syrian issue — so Prime Minister David Cameron is now careful to adhere to U.S. President Barack Obama’s point of view.

Boaz Bismuth: At least the French put up a fight— The big smiles on display from the Iranian delegation on Friday did not only alarm Jerusalem, but Paris as well. French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius rushed to Geneva to stop the emerging deal orchestrated by the Americans. In Geneva, who could have believed it, we have returned to the pre-1967 days. Even if France was only spurred into action by Saudi Arabia, officials in Jerusalem love the French again. After U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry surprised everyone by jetting off to Geneva, pen in hand and ready to sign a deal, Fabius departed for Switzerland primarily to pour cold water over all the excitement. “There was progress,” Fabius told reporters, “but nothing is sealed.” Paris managed to foil the deal, but it may not be able to next time.

P. David Hornik: Kerry’s Slander of ‘Illegitimate’ Israeli Settlements— The Israeli-Palestinian “peace talks” have reportedly hit a rough patch. The talks on Tuesday were said to have “ended in a row, with raised voices and the exchange of verbal insults.” It started last week when Israel released the second batch of Palestinian security prisoners, all of whom were serving time for murder or attempted murder. They were welcomed as heroes in Ramallah. Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas shook each freed prisoner’s hand, and they were awarded generous cash grants on top of the stipends they already receive.

David M. Weinberg: Kerry’s antagonism unmasked— Until this week, most Israelis thought of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry as a naive nice guy. His ardent enthusiasm for basically impossible peace talks with the Palestinians was viewed as stop-gap diplomacy, at best; a fool’s errand, at worst. But Thursday night, in his joint television interview to Israeli and Palestinian television, we “discovered” a different Kerry: nasty, threatening, one-sided, blind to the malfeasance and unreliability of Palestinian leaders, and dangerously oblique to the explosive situation he himself is creating. Channeling the Palestinian line, Kerry showed no appreciation whatsoever for Israel’s positions and concerns (aside from the usual throw-away vague protestations of concern for Israel’s “security”).

Hillel Halkin: Nothing Like It in Human History—There’s been nothing like it in human history. A small and ancient people loses its land and forgets how to speak its language; wanders defenselessly for hundreds, thousands, of years throughout the world with its God and its sacred books; meets with persecution, violence, dispossession, banishment, mass murder; refuses to give up; refuses to surrender its faith; continues to believe that it will one day be restored to the land it lost; manages in the end, by dint of its own efforts, against all odds, to gather itself from the four corners of the earth and return to that land; learns again to speak the language of its old books; learns again to bear arms and defend itself; wrests its new-old home from the people who had replaced it; entrenches itself; builds; fructifies; fortifies; repulses the enemies surrounding it; grows and prospers in the face of all threats.

Michael Curtis: The UnChristian Behavior of the World Council of Churches— The World Council of Churches (WCC), the inter-Christian organization of mainstream Protestant churches, is at it again in its continuing campaign against Israel. In 2013, one of its units, the Palestine Israel Ecumenical Forum (PIEF), invited WCC member churches, faith-based communities, and civil society organizations working for justice, to join together for a week in a proclaimed World Week for Peace in Palestine Israel (WWPPI). The purpose was advocacy and action in support of an “end to the illegal occupation of Palestine and a just peace for all in Palestine and in Israel.” Everyone with stakes in the Middle East, Christian, and non-Christian, must welcome a just peace, but does the WWPPI really do so? Churches and other groups in at least 22 countries joined this initiative of the PIEF in September 2013. The theme of the Week held in September 2013 was “Jerusalem, the city of justice and peace.” The aim of the event was clearly stated. It was to promote a just peace in Palestine, but also an end to the “illegal Israeli occupation.”

Mark Hetfield: The Shadow of Kristallnacht—This year, the German Film Awards were dominated by “Oh Boy.” In the movie, an elderly stranger confesses to a young Berliner he meets in a bar that, as a boy, he watched his father join a mob to smash the windows of Jewish-owned businesses, including that very bar. The old man was recalling Kristallnacht, a Nazi-instigated overnight rampage in which some 1,000 synagogues and 7,000 Jewish-owned businesses were destroyed in Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia. At least 91 Jews were killed. Instead of arresting the perpetrators, the Nazis rounded up 30,000 Jews and sent them to concentration camps. The night of Nov. 9, 1938, marked the Nazis’ transition from discrimination to genocide.

Ardie Geldman: Responding to Pro-Palestinian Solidarity Tours—As a member of the Efrat Town Council, I have spoken with nearly 4,000, mostly non-Jewish, visitors to Efrat, a community of some 10,000 residents that looks a lot like a middle-class American suburb. Their tour itinerary is designed by one of the many pro-Palestinian NGOs and includes a brief stopover in a “settlement,” though all the visitors are clearly sympathetic to the Palestinian cause.

Ambassador Alan Bake: Ten Basic points summarizing Israel’s rights in Judea and Samaria— 1) Upon Israel’s taking control of the area in 1967, the 1907 Hague Rules on Land Warfare and the Fourth Geneva Convention (1949) were not considered applicable to the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) territory, as the Kingdom of Jordan, prior to 1967, was never the prior legal sovereign, and in any event has since renounced any claim to sovereign rights via-a-vis the territory. 2) Israel, as administering power pending a negotiated final determination as to the fate of the territory, nevertheless chose to implement the humanitarian provisions of the Geneva convention and other norms of international humanitarian law in order to ensure the basic day-to-day rights of the local population as well as Israel’s own rights to protect its forces and to utilize those parts of land that were not under local private ownership.

Dr. Reuven Berko: History is repeating itself— The world closely followed the course of the West’s negotiations with Iran over the weekend, and its attempts to curb Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. The scene included all the usual “bazaar” components that we, as Middle Easterners, recognize even when we try to purchase a fake Persian rug: the asking price, gauging the determination of the negotiating parties and the age-old question of who will be the first to blink.

Jonah 1: 7-9

Each man said to his mate, “Come, let us cast lots so we may learn on whose account this calamity [has struck] us.” So they cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah. Then they said to him, “Tell us, now! On whose account [has] this calamity [struck] us? What is your occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?” He said to them, “I am a Hebrew, and I fear Yahweh God of heaven who made the sea and the dry land.”

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
