Russian President Putin is a better friend to Christians than President Obama

Two recent news items juxtaposed send an eerie message to Christians.  Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, a man who is not well-known for his Christian sympathies, has publicly called on world leaders to work together to put an end to anti-Christian persecution occurring throughout the world but especially in Muslim controlled North Africa and the Middle East.

At the same time, President Barack Obama, a man who claims to be a Christian, is doing his utmost to force Egypt’s military leaders to make room for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt’s government—the same Muslim Brotherhood that is responsible for most of the Christian persecution in the Middle East and North Africa.

Writing for the Washington Times, Bryana Johnson said,

Vladimir Putin said last week that he observes “with alarm” that “in many of the world’s regions, especially in the Middle East and in North Africa, inter-confessional tensions are mounting, and the rights of religious minorities are infringed, including Christians and Orthodox Christians.”

The Russian president made his comments at a meeting with Orthodox Christian leaders in Moscow. He urged the international community to take steps towards preserving the rights of Christian people worldwide and preventing the violence that they suffer routinely in dozens of nations around the globe.

The meeting was held with the leaders of all 15 Orthodox Churches to celebrate the 1,025th anniversary of the official adoption of Christianity by Prince Vladimir in 988 A.D. Orthodox leaders spoke out against what they consider the growing secularist suppression of Christian freedoms in Western nations like the U.K. and France, where same-sex marriage has just been legalized, and Christian business owners have been threatened with jail time and forced to pay fines for refusing to participate in homosexual wedding ceremonies.

The Russian Orthodox Church’s chief ecumenical officer, Metropolitan Hilarion, warned of “secularization in disguise of democratization” and of a “powerful energy today [that] strives to finally break with Christianity, which controlled its totalitarian impulses during 17 centuries.”

Writing for PJ Media, Bridget Johnson said,

The Muslim Brotherhood announced that it held a meeting with an American delegation on Saturday, including the U.S. ambassador reviled among the Tamarod movement for cozying up with the Islamists.

“At the invitation of the Assistant Secretary of State William Burns, and in the presence of the U.S. Ambassador in Egypt and the European Union special representative Bernardino León, a meeting with the Anti-Coup, Pro-Democracy National Alliance was held in the Four Seasons Hotel, Cairo, at 11AM on Saturday, August 3, 2013,” Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood said on its official website.

“We strongly reject foreign interference in Egypt’s internal affairs, and at the same time, we welcome the international community’s announced respect for the principles of democracy and human rights and its renunciation of military coups and massacres,” the Brotherhood said.

Ambassador Anne Patterson’s image has been held up alongside President Obama’s by the secular demonstrators who ousted the Muslim Brotherhood from power as two deemed complicit in the Islamists’ reign.

The State Department released no information about such a meeting, but spokeswoman Marie Harf did confirm “we have the goal of helping the Egyptians get back to a democratically elected, inclusive government.”

Anyone who believes that Egypt’s Muslim Brothers are interested in democracy needs to have his head examined.  The problems that led to Morsi’s ouster had as much to do with his pro-Islamist, pro-Muslim Brotherhood leanings, his attempts to impose Sharia law in Egypt, and the concomitant persecution of religious minorities in Egypt, especially Christians, as it did with Egypt’s dismal economic performance under Morsi’s rule.

Morsi and his Muslim Brothers are not interested in democracy at all.  They are interested in gaining political power so they can impose Sharia law, period.  Unfortunately, useful idiots in the United States, many of whom claim to be Christians, still support Obama.  They must not know the facts, or worse, they know the facts and just don’t care.

Morsi’s problems extend beyond Egypt’s borders.  Libyan intelligence said that Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood were intimately involved in the Benghazi terrorist attack:

According to a Libyan intelligence document, the Muslim Brotherhood, including Egyptian President Morsi, were involved in the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, where several Americans, including U.S. ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, were killed.

On Wednesday, June 26, several Arabic websites, including Veto Gate, quoted the intelligence report, which apparently was first leaked to the Kuwaiti paper, Al Ra’i.  Prepared by Mahmoud Ibrahim Sharif, Director of National Security for Libya, the report is addressed to the nation’s Minister of Interior.

It discusses the preliminary findings of the investigation, specifically concerning an “Egyptian cell” which was involved in the consulate attack. “Based on confessions derived from some of those arrested at the scene” six people, “all of them Egyptians” from the jihad group Ansar al-Sharia (“Supporters of Islamic Law”), were arrested.

According to the report, during interrogations, these Egyptian jihadi cell members “confessed to very serious and important information concerning the financial sources of the group and the planners of the event and the storming and burning of the U.S. consulate in Benghazi…. And among the more prominent figures whose names were mentioned by cell members during confessions were: Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi; preacher Safwat Hegazi; Saudi businessman Mansour Kadasa, owner of the satellite station, Al-Nas; Egyptian Sheikh Muhammad Hassan; former presidential candidate, Hazim Salih Abu Isma’il…”

Two days ago, we learned that Iran is connected to the Benghazi attack as well, that President Obama knew about it, and that he is using all of his presidential powers to keep the truth from getting out:

Obama’s all-out attempt to stone-wall the Benghazi truth may hide skeletons much worse than Obama’s arming al Qaeda, it may hide Obama’s protecting Iran.

Republican Congressman Frank Wolf reported on Breitbart last Thursday:

“We’re getting calls from people who are close to people who were [in Benghazi at the time] that they were moving guns. So where are the guns? . . . Are they in a warehouse somewhere? Some people say they moved on to Turkey and then from Turkey to Syria, … Did they fall into the hands of some of the Jihadis? … Nobody knows, so I think there are so many questions from the failure to respond to where the guns went.”

Why is Obama doing everything in the world to cover-up the truth in Benghazi?  Why is Obama administering lie detector exams every few days to all the CIA operatives who were in Benghazi?

Is it to cover-up the fact that Obama was running guns to the Syrian rebels? Why do that? Both the then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and then-CIA Director Petraeus were openly advocating arming the Syrian rebels.

Is it such a big deal that the United States was secretly arming enemies of Iran’s puppet Assad through our NATO-ally, Turkey? No it isn’t.

Is the fact that some of the US weapons may have accidentally fallen into al Qaeda’s hands that terrible?  No.  Not at all.

The reason Obama doesn’t want the truth of the Benghazi-to-Syrian Rebels gun-running operation to come out is that all of a sudden the “al Qaeda attacked Benghazi” narrative doesn’t make any sense.  For, why on earth would al Qaeda attack a gun-running operation to the Syria rebels when the Syria rebels themselves are al Qaeda?  Al Qaeda wouldn’t be attacking their own al Qaeda weapons pipeline.

So, Obama’s real fear is not that he ran guns to al Qaeda, but that if this were known, al Qaeda would be removed as the possible suspect in the murder of Ambassador Stevens and three Americans.

[…]

And that begs an even bigger .

Why would Obama protect Iran from being exposed as a possible suspect?

If Benghazi was a live CIA operation center, then Obama had to have known when it was being attacked that it was a live CIA operation center. Why, then, did Obama fail to take any particular interest in its immediate defense?  In fact, if it was a live CIA operation, extraordinary measures should have been taken in its defense.

As I reported a few days ago, Morsi and Obama have another problem:

If the Benghazi scandal and the IRS imbroglio were not enough, there is yet another sign on the horizon that the Obama administration is coming unglued.  Egypt Daily News reported that the president made an illicit $8 billion deal with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood—not Egypt.  According to the report,

• SECRET agreement between the Obama administration and the Muslim Brotherhood (not the Egyptian government) to give 40% of the Sinai and the annexation of that part of Egyptian territory in Gaza. The objective is to facilitate the conclusion of a comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians

• This agreement was signed by Khairat el Shater (number 2 of the Brotherhood) by Morsi and the Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood.

• A sum of U.S. $ 8 billion was paid in exchange for the land.

• An investigation is ongoing Morsi and El Shater. An arrest warrant was filed against the Guide to MB and other members of his office.

• MB signatories to the agreement are liable to the death penalty for treason.

• The Obama administration would try to reach an agreement with El Sissi (Defense Minister): recognition of the legitimacy of the “coup” in exchange for his silence about the secret agreement. But El Sissi would be more interested in the conviction of MB and discredit their organization which is Egypt’s main source of danger.

• The Republican members of Congress are seriously looking into the case. If proven, the process of Obama impeachment could be triggered.

President Obama’s fingerprints are all over the Benghazi terrorist attacks and a host of other clandestine operations that are putting Christians at risk.  In the end, the truth will find a way out, but will Christian people in America ever wake up to reality and hold the president accountable?  I hope so but I fear that they won’t.  In the meantime, Christians in the Middle East and North Africa are turning to President Putin for support because it’s obvious that they aren’t getting any help from Obama.

Michael J. Totten: Hizbullah Plays the Israel Card—Hizbullah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah briefly emerged from his underground lair on Friday and delivered his first public speech in years urging his enemies to stop fretting over his involvement in the Syrian war and worry instead about the Jews. “We Shiites will never abandon Palestine,” he said. But they have abandoned Palestine – for now – and are fighting instead to save their collective backside in Syria. If Bashar al-Assad falls to the Free Syrian Army, Hizbullah will lose its weapons supply link with Iran and find itself cut off and encircled by enemies.

Elhanan Miller: Nasrallah’s Anti-Israel Rhetoric Finds Few Takers—Arab media was highly cynical of Nasrallah’s speech, calling it a transparent attempt to distract the world from Hizbullah’s crimes in Syria.

Gerald M. Steinberg: Iran’s New Leader and the Limits of Diplomacy—For Iran’s new president, Hassan Rouhani, diplomacy is simply warfare by other means. As Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, Rouhani successfully shepherded Iran’s illicit nuclear weapons program through its greatest crisis in 2003-2004. Through diplomatic engagement with the international community, he deflected the use of force and sanctions while bolstering Iran’s regional status.

Yehuda Yaakov: The Implementation of Coercive Diplomacy in the International Nuclear Crisis with Iran, 2003-2004— This research thesis focuses on the manner in which coercive diplomacy was implemented during the international nuclear crisis with Iran between the years 2003-2004 by the key relevant players in the international arena at the time – the UK, France and Germany (the EU3) and the United States – and the lessons to be learned from this effort. The following analysis takes into account both the options at their disposal during this period, as well as each party’s own motives.

Bruce Thornton: Epitaph for a Foreign Policy— If you still doubt that Barack Obama has disastrously bungled our foreign policy, check out this video. In it Egyptian singer Salma Elmasry brutally insults Obama for supporting the Muslim Brothers and Islamists in general, her vulgar insults laced with an image of our President sporting a bin Laden cap and beard, and another of him with thickened nose and lips, no surprise to anyone familiar with traditional Arab racism. Meanwhile, Russian president Vladimir Putin is on his way to Cairo. According to Debka, “Putin hopes to come away from Cairo as champion of the war on radical Islam in two important Arab countries and the most reliable ally of forces for moderation.” Next on his itinerary is Tehran, where “the Russian leader will use the double exposure to underscore Moscow’s solid presence at the power centers of the Middle East – in striking contrast to Washington.”

John King and Chelsea J. Carter: Lawmaker: If CNN can interview suspect in Benghazi attack, why can’t FBI?— A Republican lawmaker demanded Wednesday to know why investigators have not captured or killed any of the suspects in the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, pointing out that CNN was able to find a man who some say was the ringleader in the assault that left the ambassador and three other Americans dead.

Bridget Johnson: State Department Sits Down with Muslim Brotherhood— The Muslim Brotherhood announced that it held a meeting with an American delegation on Saturday, including the U.S. ambassador reviled among the Tamarod movement for cozying up with the Islamists.

Michael van der Galien: The Mass Jailing of Turkish Secularists— Monday, August the 4th, was one of the most important days in modern Turkish history. Two hundred seventy-five (275) individuals known to be secularists stood trial for supposedly planning a military coup. In the end, some 200 of them were convicted, with many receiving lifelong sentences.

Steven H. Ahle: More guns leads to less Crime—Gun sales in in Virginia in 2012 rose to 490,119 as the crime rate for gun cases dropped by 5%. Contrary to popular opinion, this is not a phenomenon. The case for gun control is that the more guns in circulation, the higher the rate of crimes committed using guns.

Dan Weil: 77 Percent of Obama’s New Jobs Are Part-Time—While many economists have described the employment picture as gradually improving in recent months, by one measure it’s not improving at all. In July, only 92,000 of the 266,000 jobs created were full-time — just 35 percent of the total. You may wonder why the total number of jobs created isn’t 162,000, the number commonly used by news services. That number is calculated from the Labor Department’s establishment survey of employers. The 266,000 is calculated from the department’s household survey.

14--Blessings from Revelation

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
