Commonsense: Why are the Europeans determined to pin the blame on Israel for the assassination of a high-level Hamas operative? It’s clear that the assassins used the identities of people with links to Israel, but Mossad isn’t a hack outfit. They are probably the best intelligence agency in the world today. Does it make sense to believe that Mossad would carry out a covert operation and leave a trail back to people with ties to Israel? That’s not very likely from my point of view, but this is a virtual certainty. Israel is going to be blamed or at least suspected every time a Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PA, al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, Hezbollah, etc. terrorist is killed. That just goes to show how effectively the Palestinians have turned world opinion against Israel. This is a fact. Members of Islamist terrorist groups in the Middle East who are blaming Israel for the Dubai assassination are mortal enemies. This is another fact. Hamas and the PA are currently engaged in a real war to determine which group will be the standard bearer for the Palestinian people. I think it is highly probable that the Dubai assassination is part of the ongoing feud between Hamas and the PA. If the PA ordered the Dubai assassination, they would do their best to implicate Israel. That makes perfect sense. If the Europeans are determined to haul someone over the coals for something, why are they not rebuking Hamas for abducting an IDF soldier and holding him for ransom? From where I sit, it appears that they are quick to blame Israel for an operation that doesn’t add up, but they are showing uncommon restraint when they know Hamas is guilty of an egregious offense. Isn’t that a double standard?

Scripture:

Today I’ll show where Yahweh’s Name belongs in Ephesians 2:

Ephesians 2

  1. And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,
  2. in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
  3. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
  4. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
  5. even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
  6. and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
  7. so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
  8. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
  9. not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
  10. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
  11. Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision,” which is performed in the flesh by human hands—
  12. remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
  13. But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
  14. For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall,
  15. by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace,
  16. and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.
  17. AND HE CAME AND PREACHED PEACE TO YOU WHO WERE FAR AWAY, AND PEACE TO THOSE WHO WERE NEAR;
  18. for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
  19. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,
  20. having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone,
  21. in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in Yahweh,
  22. in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

Yahweh Appears to Hagar

When Yahweh made the covenant with Abraham, Sarah had no children.  She was desperate to have a child, and she asked Abraham to have intercourse with her maid, Hagar, so Hagar could give birth to a child for her.  Abraham agreed.  He had intercourse with Hagar, and she became pregnant.

When Hagar realized she had conceived, she despised Sarah and created a serious problem for Abraham.  Evidently, Abraham was giving Hagar special attention because she was about to become the mother of his child (this child’s name would be Ishmael), and Sarah believed Abraham’s behavior was responsible for her attitude.  She was furious, and she told Abraham,

“May the wrong done me be upon you.  I gave my maid into your arms, but when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her sight.  May Yahweh judge between you and me.” (Genesis 16: 5)

Not knowing exactly what to say, Abraham simply told Sarah that Hagar was still her maid and that she could do with her as she pleased.  Afterwards, Sarah treated Hagar so harshly that she fled to the wilderness.  Along the way, Yahweh appeared to Hagar by a spring.  In Genesis 16: 8, He said, “Hagar, Sarah’s maid, where have you come from and where are you going?”

She told Him she was running away from Sarah, and Yahweh said,

“Return to your mistress and submit yourself to her authority (Genesis 16: 9)….Moreover…I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they shall become too many to count (Genesis 16: 10)….Then she called the Name of Yahweh who spoke to her, ‘You are a God who sees (El Roi); for have I even remained alive after seeing Him?’” (Genesis 16: 13)

Did Yahweh actually appear to Hagar?  Yes.  First, He told her that He would greatly multiply her descendants.  What angel can do that?  Only Yahweh can.  Furthermore, Hagar knew she had spoken directly to Yahweh.  She called Him El Roi, the Strong One who Sees, and she seemed to be surprised that she did not die after having seen Him.  Also, Hagar called the well at which He appeared to her “the well of the Living One who Sees me.” (Genesis 16: 14)  Yahweh did appear to Hagar, and she talked with Him in Person.

Commonsense: Unfortunately, NATO troops were involved in a horrific accident that cost several innocent Afghan civilians their lives, but our soldiers weren’t hiding behind civilians, and they didn’t use women and children as shields.  They didn’t hole up in hospitals, schools, and mosques and invite an attack.  Those are Taliban strategies.  Hamas and the PA use them as well.  Israel has every right to point out the obvious double standard.  This is the sad truth.  Innocent people die in war.  The odds of civilian deaths increase dramatically when combatants hide behind women and children.  It’s true in Afghanistan and in Gaza.

Changing the subject a little, why are the Europeans determined to pin the blame on Israel for the assassination of a high-level Hamas operative?
